After supper last night Loree and Freddie dropped by for a visit on their walkabout and Suzie got a nice doggie fix from Freddie. Always nice when they stop by for a short chat when they can.

Freddie loves his rubs |

Such a beautiful friendly dog |
Then at 6:45 head out to play darts that we enjoy. Cost us 3 bucks each to play for a couple hours of fun. And a nice treat tonight Bob and Mary came in to play. They camped here for many years but eventually sold their park model and moved back the their house, getting to be too much work to keep up both places. Considering Bob is 91 and they have been married for 67 years ! Like wow. Always enjoy seeing and chatting with them and love Mary's laugh such a character she is. She calls me Georgie Porgie and always say Mary had little lamb , fun times together for years here.

Bob and Mary |
We enjoyed the darts and social time as we always do. This time my team did not place but Suzie's team tied for first place , and in the play offs her team won! Yahoo big pay off she won her 3 bucks back. So all that fun cost only 3 bucks.

Suzie playing good darts tonight |
Home shortly after 9 pm relaxed a bit then off to bed.
We both had a great sleep and up at 6 this morning. Cooler now only 54F outside (60f) inside, But the sun came up and a very short walkabout for me and took our laundry to let the machine do their magic, I am out of her hair and she cleans the house (only takes about 10 minutes in our tiny house. Back home by 10:30 enjoyed a light lunch then I went and filled our 5 gallon jug of RO water we use for drinking, cooking and coffees/tea.
A perfect afternoon to enjoy more of our page turners on another very nice cooler sunny day.
|
our view from the patio so peaceful |
Then about 3 pm Happy hour evolved I put our sign out so they knew it was time, lol. They know 3 pm here is always a social time anyway every one is welcome if they care to come a share stories, tell laughs, jokes, lies, whatever, Bring your water, coffee/tea pop whatever is your choice of beverage and of course a chair.

found this sign in Tombstone years ago love it |
Tucker dragged Gerry over and hopped right on to his chair for a Suzie fix and a rub of course.
|
He comes right to Suzie |
Then Kim, Ken and their grandson Seth joined us as well. Genealogy was the topic of discussion today. Suzie and Ken have been into it for years now is Gerry's new project so much family stuff that you can learn.
|
Tucker knows to wait for the signal |
|

Suzi'e new Ball cap from N'awlins last fall |
Across from us is a playground that Seth just had to check out and of course the huge tires are a big attraction, he climbed right up.
|
he is the King of the castle |
The the swings is the next adventure , think Kim enjoyed them as much as Seth.
|
swinging for Kim and twisting for Seth |

Soon they headed home and time for me to put together a tasty premade pizza we bought at the Pinery market last Sunday. A meat lovers thin crust and as always I added more toppings. While I was doing this Dorothy (the cat lady that brings us fresh veggies) dropped off some very tasty Cherry Cheese cakes her daughters boyfriend makes. Thanks Dorothy these are amazing! Thank your Daughter's boyfriend as well.
I got our Pizza ready to cook on our Weber Q dressed just the way we like it preheated the grill for 15 minutes.

Where have we been this Summer ?
We have GOT to try doing pizza on the grill one of these fine days. Do thin crust pizzas do better than the regular old bread type?
ReplyDeleteIt worked very well, I have only done the thing crust pizza on our Weber Q it will cook up better on the I would think less thickness and dough
DeleteMy son has a pizza stone for his grill. Enough cherry cheesecake to share? email us a sample :)
ReplyDeleteA pizza stone would work well for regular homemade pizza crusts, this works quite well though with the thin crust.
DeleteEating good!!!! Since my pork chops came out terrible tonight, I’m trying pizza. Must be nice to be cool!!
ReplyDeleteToo bad about your pork chops, probably over done they will get very tough. It is a bit cooler than I like, but we know it will get colder.
DeleteYAY Suzie! Nice win with the darts. Seems you had a great day and that pizza looks fabulous and the cheese cake mini cups are yummy
ReplyDeleteThank she wins more time than I do, probably because she is a better player. It was a very nic day, the pizza was tasty as are the cheesecake minis.
DeleteI love your Beer30 sign!
ReplyDeleteThank you I just had to buy it when I saw it
DeleteWhat a cute couple Bob and Mary are! Love the Beer 30 sign! Those little cherry cheesecakes just the right size for treat! Sweet of her to bring you some. Seth is sure a cutie! OMG your pizza looks yummy!!
ReplyDeleteThey are a wonderful couple always love seeing them again. And the Beer 30 I love it too. The shoes cakes a perfect size for s back it was nice of Dorothy to bring them over.He is a cutie for sure. And the pizza was wonderful thanks.
DeleteIs there anything you can't cook on your Weber? You amaze me all the time. :c)
ReplyDeleteNot much I can't cook on our Weber Q.
DeleteAnother great day. I have never played darts but is seems like a fun time. Fist time that I have seen your beer sign.. Unique!
ReplyDeleteDarts here is a fun time , no skill needed with this group.
DeleteI have posted that sign a few times over the years you probably missed it, I love it!
I have not played darts in a very long time, but this reminds me of how much fun it was:)
ReplyDeleteIt is fun and sometime I hit the board and sometimes not but we do have fun.
DeleteWhat a beautiful and happy couple Bob and Mary make!
ReplyDeleteHow many cats does Dorothy own that she gets the priviledge to be called "The Cat Lady"?
They are a wonderful couple.
DeleteShe had 6 cats nowonly has 3. and loves them all. I had many over the years as well as dogs but decided no more for for now.
I have her beat...I am "legally" responsible for three as I had to register them under my name after I had them spayed/neutered and given their shots.
DeleteBut I have two cats Sonny and Katie...and Katie has four kittens who also rely on me for food so I think I deserve the title of "Cat Lady"....jajajajaja :D
Ok cat lady you win the prize, That is a lot of mouthes to feed.
DeleteSo nice you host happy hour for friends to gather. Your pizza looks good. When we chose to full-time Dean was insistent we bring our cast iron skillet. I make our pizzas in it. I found the Martha White crust (found at most Walmart's for around $1), makes a very nice crust. It's so fast and easy. The crust is always nice and crisp, not hard on the bottom... no sogginess. I freeze leftover sauce. It's a nice quick meal.
ReplyDeletewe enjoy our Happy have our cast iron skillet as well and use it for various recipes.
DeleteWorks very good too.
We have only recently got s baby q weber so look forward to trying s pizza. What a great night you had with friends and Suzie winning darts was a bonus. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank Rosie we always enjoy dart night here. Enjoy your Weber Q so much you can do with it, that is the one we have and love it
