Doggie fix, and Suzie winning at darts!.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
After supper last night Loree and Freddie dropped by for a visit on their walkabout and Suzie got a nice doggie fix from Freddie. Always nice when they stop by for a short chat when they can.
Freddie loves his rubs
Such a beautiful friendly dog
Then at 6:45 head out to play darts that we enjoy. Cost us 3 bucks each to play for a couple hours of fun. And a nice treat tonight Bob and Mary came in to play. They camped here for many years but eventually sold their park model and moved back the their house, getting to be too much work to keep up both places. Considering Bob is 91 and they have been married for 67 years ! Like wow. Always enjoy seeing and chatting with them and love Mary's laugh such a character she is. She calls me Georgie Porgie and always say Mary had little lamb , fun times together for years here.
Bob and Mary
We enjoyed the darts and social time as we always do. This time my team did not place but Suzie's team tied for first place , and in the play offs her team won! Yahoo big pay off she won her 3 bucks back. So all that fun cost only 3 bucks.
Suzie playing good darts tonight
Home shortly after 9 pm relaxed a bit then off to bed.
We both had a great sleep and up at 6 this morning. Cooler now only 54F outside (60f) inside, But the sun came up and a very short walkabout for me and took our laundry to let the machine do their magic, I am out of her hair and she cleans the house (only takes about 10 minutes in our tiny house. Back home by 10:30 enjoyed a light lunch then I went and filled our 5 gallon jug of RO water we use for drinking, cooking and coffees/tea.
A perfect afternoon to enjoy more of our page turners on another very nice cooler sunny day.
our view from the patio
so peaceful
Then about 3 pm Happy hour evolved I put our sign out so they knew it was time, lol. They know 3 pm here is always a social time anyway every one is welcome if they care to come a share stories, tell laughs, jokes, lies, whatever, Bring your water, coffee/tea pop  whatever is your choice of beverage and of course a chair.
found this sign in Tombstone years ago love it
Tucker dragged Gerry over and hopped right on to his chair for a Suzie fix and a rub of course.
He comes right to Suzie
Then Kim, Ken and their grandson Seth joined us as well. Genealogy was the topic of discussion today. Suzie and Ken have been into it for years now is Gerry's new project so much family stuff that you can learn.
Tucker knows to wait for the signal
ok! gone in and instant
Suzi'e new Ball cap from N'awlins last fall
Across from us is a playground that Seth just had to check out and of course the huge tires are a big attraction, he climbed right up.
he is the King of the castle
The the swings is the next adventure , think Kim enjoyed them as much as Seth.
swinging for Kim and twisting for Seth
yummy Cherry cheesecakes
Soon they headed home and time for me to put together a tasty premade pizza we bought at the Pinery market last Sunday. A meat lovers thin crust and as always I added more toppings. While I was doing this Dorothy (the cat lady that brings us fresh veggies) dropped off some very tasty Cherry Cheese cakes her daughters boyfriend makes. Thanks Dorothy these are amazing! Thank your Daughter's boyfriend as well.
I got our Pizza ready to cook on our Weber Q dressed just the way we like it preheated the grill for 15 minutes.

and not burn the bottom
the pan on the trivet lid closed about 20 minutes

It was a very nice relaxing summer day cooling down a bit got things done and a nice Happy hour, Wrapping up with a tasty pizza for supper.
Now to enjoy a quiet evening as the sunset, read a bit more then call it a night.
Glad that y'all dropped on by for a visit and hope you enjoyed a fun day as well.

A cooler productive day we both enjoyed.

Where are we today ?
Rock Glen Family Resort

After yesterday's afternoon rain the temperature and humidity could down nicely. We got a good sleep and 68F at 5:30 this morning.  Around 7 am I got a nice walkabout the the park just over a mile.
Then because of this cooler weather and more energy I decided a good day to get up on our roof and give t a real good cleaning It really needed it. Being metal roof it takes very little maintenance but getting some moldy spots on it around our air conditioner and especially the TV antenna, so with a long handles brush and scrubby lots of water and plenty of elbow grease, 3 hours later almost looks new again. I wash it a few times year, but this is the first time I put this much work into it and paid off. Checked all the caulking and it looks good. Most is eternabond tape which still looks like new after 20 years.
the roof looks like new again
Time for a later lunch then after that  good work our e readers were calling us in the shade. Between a few walkabouts and chatting with a few people. Much cooler and dryer today temps in the mid 75F with a wonderful breeze, Loving it!
A few more walkabouts made another reservation and watching the skies
looking south this is what I saw
turn around and north looks much better
Shortly after 3 pm Tucker and Gerry joined us for Happy Hour. Tucker hops right onto his chair and waiting for me to go inside and bring out a treat for him. Suzie does the honours as usual and he knows it.
first a rub and a kiss then waits for his treat
he can wait until she tells him OK
then gone in an instant
he knows another one is coming
Treats done and right on Gerry's lap
thinks Gerry has a treat
no treat but he licks his lips anyway
About 5 pm time for supper and tonight an easy one , I found this lasagna in the freezer I made a while ago with some soft tacos , so made a salad and heat it up in our microwave just because I can!
salad and lasagna hit the spot tonight
and more room in our freezer
Pretty well a wonderful much cooler day, got things taken care of on the roof is nice and clean again, a fun Happy hour sharing more tips and stories. No Sunset picture from last night with all the rain and clouds maybe later tonight.
Thanks for taking the time to join us on a cooler summer day, and hope you had a wonderful day as well.

Where have we been this Winter

Time to head out of town another membership park in cottage country.

Where are we today ?
clic on a pic to enlarge it
This morning just wonderful warm and sunny. Got the caffeine fix, breaky and computing done and a nice walkabout town. Nice and early as usual. Around the corner there was a small crew with a portable sawmill taking care of some huge logs from trees that fell in a winter storm.
It was amazing to watch them move these huge logs and cut them into boards that will be kiln dried so that the owner of the house can built a few things. One will be a large Harvest table.
first board
Now I could watch them for a long time, but we have places to go. Back home, we secured our coach and hit the road, later than usual about 10 am. Only about a 3 hour drive to Galvin Bay and we are not supposed to check in until 3 pm.
We on the road today heading up to The Kawarthas (cottage country here in Ontario).  Highway 401 through Toronto and with the construction was not too bad. 2 seasons here in Ontario, winter season and construction season.
Mostly moved right along at the speed limit a couple sections slowed a bit but not bad at all.
The just east of Toronto from 4 lanes to 2 . Nice break here. Suzie can go to the washroom and then when stopped for a few seconds she took over driving the coach and my turn. That is the beauty of travelling in a motorhome, no problem with traffic we have everything we need right handy.
Hey Suzie driving !
Just as I got back behind the wheel traffic picked up
and away we went
Headed north on hwy 35/115 and pulled over in an empty lot, to make a bite for lunch and stretch a bit, then nice paved back road towards Buckhorn Ontario.
Right across the road from the campground about a mile or so is the Indian Reservation= cheap gas. We always plan this here, we filled our coach 214 litres (56 US gallons) at 93.9 cents a litre compared to $1.30 everywhere else. This saved us about $23.50, a worthwhile savings for sure.
Arrived at Galvin Bay our home Coast to Coast park about 2:15 and checked in early. Cost us $5.00 a night now with 30 amp, water and sewer, perfect, and can't beat the price. Non members $42.50 plus tax a night. Perfect weather, sunny and about 80f with a light breeze.
here we are all setup by 3:30
and join our friends Pat and Norm for Happy hour
catch up time
Pat, Norm and BJ (Billie Jean)
right away BJ is on Suzie's lap
Doggie fix and Kisses
BJ gets a treat too
Then we home to whip up supper. Tonight a couple salmon burgers on our Weber Q and some very tender fresh local asparagus, to go with our salad.
sure hit the spot
That was a wonderful travel day, great weather and just moved right along. Sure is nice to get back on the road, last summer was the last time we were here. And just love this area. Nice change of pace.
169 miles today
We here for a couple weeks, just doing what we do, enjoy new scenery.
Hope your day was good too, Thanks for stopping by.
