Doggie fix, and Suzie winning at darts!.

           After supper last night Loree and Freddie dropped by for a visit on their walkabout and Suzie got a nice doggie fix from Freddie. Always nice when they stop by for a short chat when they can.

     Then at 6:45 head out to play darts that we enjoy. Cost us 3 bucks each to play for a couple hours of fun. And a nice treat tonight Bob and Mary came in to play. They camped here for many years but eventually sold their park model and moved back the their house, getting to be too much work to keep up both places. Considering Bob is 91 and they have been married for 67 years ! Like wow. Always enjoy seeing and chatting with them and love Mary's laugh such a character she is. She calls me Georgie Porgie and always say Mary had little lamb , fun times together for years here.

   We enjoyed the darts and social time as we always do. This time my team did not place but Suzie's team tied for first place , and in the play offs her team won! Yahoo big pay off she won her 3 bucks back. So all that fun cost only 3 bucks.

     Home shortly after 9 pm relaxed a bit then off to bed.

     We both had a great sleep and up at 6 this morning. Cooler now only 54F outside (60f) inside, But the sun came up and a very short walkabout for me and took our laundry to let the machine do their magic, I am out of her hair and she cleans the house (only takes about 10 minutes in our tiny house. Back home by 10:30 enjoyed a light lunch then I went and filled our 5 gallon jug of RO water we use for drinking, cooking and coffees/tea.

       A perfect afternoon to enjoy more of our page turners on another very nice cooler sunny day.

         Then about 3 pm Happy hour evolved I put our sign out so they knew it was time, lol. They know 3 pm here is always a social time anyway every one is welcome if they care to come a share stories, tell laughs, jokes, lies, whatever, Bring your water, coffee/tea pop  whatever is your choice of beverage and of course a chair.

     Tucker dragged Gerry over and hopped right on to his chair for a Suzie fix and a rub of course.

      Then Kim, Ken and their grandson Seth joined us as well. Genealogy was the topic of discussion today. Suzie and Ken have been into it for years now is Gerry's new project so much family stuff that you can learn.

    Across from us is a playground that Seth just had to check out and of course the huge tires are a big attraction, he climbed right up.

      Soon they headed home and time for me to put together a tasty premade pizza we bought at the Pinery market last Sunday. A meat lovers thin crust and as always I added more toppings. While I was doing this Dorothy (the cat lady that brings us fresh veggies) dropped off some very tasty Cherry Cheese cakes her daughters boyfriend makes. Thanks Dorothy these are amazing! Thank your Daughter's boyfriend as well.
       I got our Pizza ready to cook on our Weber Q dressed just the way we like it preheated the grill for 15 minutes.

          It was a very nice relaxing summer day cooling down a bit got things done and a nice Happy hour, Wrapping up with a tasty pizza for supper.
          Now to enjoy a quiet evening as the sunset, read a bit more then call it a night.

          Just doing what we love to do. Fresh air sunshine and in a quiet campground, perfect. Cooler this morning after great sleep but did a couple of nice walkabouts around the campground by 8 am. A perfect time to get out and about.

     Made a quick trip  to Strathroy for a few supplies and looking for a new pair of Birkenstock sandals that I love, My old ones are 6 years old and falling apart, but  sure have served me well. They not cheap but are Very comfortable.  No luck here I will keep on looking.
     Back home for a light lunch of leftovers and a fellow rv''er stopped by to see if I could help them with their Shaw satellite dish. Doug and Jan had heard that I could maybe help them. (word gets around in an RV park) They had Shaw out earlier today and they said they cannot get a signal for their dish there where is was installed 2 years ago,
      Ok I can check it out. The trees have grown and they lost their signal so after some checking around we moved the dish about 50 feet away and were able get them up and running again. Then all we had to do was secure the dish to a patio stone he had. After fiddling with that for a while we finally go it secured on a patio stone and a pretty good signal , tv now working again!! Jan is very happy once again !

       It was a challenge, but things that I enjoy doing, helping out fellow rv'ers and solving their problems. Keeps me busy as well.
      Then back home at 3 pm, time for Happy Hour and get right back into my e-reader, relax after all the fun times I had.

      A while late Tucker came for  Happy hour,just because he can and dragged Gerry and Melinda right along with him. Tucker knows the routine and makes sure he gets his treats.

          We chatted for a while comparing travel notes and computer programs. Then Bob dropped by on his way back for a cold one and share more tips with us as well. Nice to chat with Bob again.

     After a while we all decided tonight would be a good night to order a pizza from Joey Littles in Forest. Have heard they have excellent pizza and deliver right to the campground. We wanted to try them out so this was a perfect time to share the delivery charge and check out their pizza as well.

      We ordered a medium deluxe pizza, and it was very good, I added olives on my half and fresh tomato slices on the whole pizza. We did manage to eat 1/2 of it so more leftovers for more lunches.hmm Lots of food in our house as always.

    There ya go our day just flew on by and we all enjoyed getting things done a very tasty pizza for supper as well.

When we head south Oct 24thCountdown

Where have we been this summer?

Cool again, good morning for laundry then enjoy some afternoon sunshine for a while.

Where are we today ?

          More like fall weather again. Overcast and raining off and on until just after noon. After  a couple of walkabouts I headed into Arkona to get our laundry done at 9:30.Oops.not right now. all the washers and dryers are in use. No problem only a mile away so back home got some reading and lunch done then back by 11:30 nobody there. The machines did a wonderful job while I got some more reading done..
       Folded the clothes and back home by 1 pm.  By this time the rain had stopped skies cleared and was nice and sunny. Pretty nice here with no wind in our spot, so we did get some quality reading done outside.  A friend of ours here, Richard stopped by for a chat and brought us 1/2 a dozen fresh tomatoes from their garden. Nice to catch up with him again and I have a plan for all these free tomatoes.

      Back to the campground a busy weekend here a whole mess of Square dancers have come in and renting the Hall for their get together this weekend, Even some from Ohio and Michigan have pulled in. They do this once or twice a year, We can go watch them if we wish.

            About 3;30 Rob and Pat joined us for Happy hour on our sunny site and we flapped our gums for a while, Then at 5;15 we picked up a couple of yummy pizzas at the Country Cafe in town.

        Now we did enjoy our pizzas sure hit the spot. and as usual we have a couple of pieces leftover for lunch tomorrow.

       After supper we relaxed outside for a while and Maya dragged Walt over for a visit to see Moma Sue and to get her usual treats.

         Then as the evening cooled down, Rob and Pat headed home and we sat outside until about 7:30. but now down to 55F (12C) a bit chillier than we like. So inside to warm up and enjoy a quiet evening inside. Sure does feel like fall, much too cold too early for our liking.

Where have we been this summer ?

Started with rain, sunny and hot all day and ending with rain, a pretty good day for us.

Where are we today ?

       Just more great summer weather, a bit of a rainstorm overnight with some thunder and lightening , but that is just fine, we are in bed and it's dark out there anyway.
        Did start a nice walkabout just after 7 am, but the weather gods had predicted thunderstorms about 8 am. So I did not go too far. and they were right on the money, 8:03 am the skies opened  up along with winds and thunder. Boy did it come down for about 20 minutes.

         But before 9 am the skies were clear, sunny and warm again love it.  I made a quick trip for a few groceries home 20 minutes later. I had intended to stop into the farmers market in Forest but got totally sidetracked and forgot until I returned home. Oh know, my old age memory is kicking in.  Then we just enjoyed the rest of a very nice hot sunny day. Temps got only to 88f (31C) with a slight breeze but we are in the shade and was wonderful.
        After a light lunch I puttered around for bit with a few odd jobs and read in between. I can only sit and read for a short time so this works for me. Did chat with a few people and just enjoyed this wonderful weather. At least we were outside all day, just the way we like it. Thats me read a bit, putter around a bit, walkabout a bit, read some more, a nice relaxing day.

          Next thing we know it is time soon time for supper, Walt dropped by with Maya for a Suzie fix, then time for supper.

           Suzie's turn tonight to make supper so on her menu was a Pizza from the Country Cafe in town. This small corner Cafe makes amazing pizza and is reasonable priced. Very close to what I made for 10 years in my restaurant, hand stretched fresh dough with  fresh veggies , great sauce and a wonderful mozzarella cheese. Sue there at the Cafe sure knows how to make a good pizza that's for sure.

         Here we are still outside enjoying this evening, as it cools down a bit and storm clouds heading our way, Maybe and maybe not it will hit us but we ready to head inside when it does. Only about 7:30 but no complaints at all with this kind of weather at all. A light rain starting now but we under our awning, not a problem with no wind.
        Not much more going on here and as usual the weekend after the long weekend is usually quite quiet. Not a problem here.
         Glad that y'all dropped by and hope you enjoy a pretty decent relaxing day as well.

Where have we been this summer ?

         Now again this weather is amazing . Got my shorts and t shirt on first thing and nice peaceful walkabout the campground, Gotta get these steps in ya know. The mourning doves cooing and some flowers blooming just waiting for me to take a picture, Glad that I carry my camera all the time in my vest.

          Then about 9 am I headed into Forest for the Friday Farmer's Market. In particular to pick up some wonderful fresh Organic Strawberries. And the one baker there had some fresh baked Cranberry Lemon scones that we enjoy.

      It is a small market, but then Forest is a small town. Couple of vendors I like to visit here.

       Having an issue with my favourite chair again. It is over 20 years old, a gift from Suzie's Mom and Dad kinda showing it's age but still fixable for now. Easy fix , I have an old shovel handle that I can whittle down to fit inside the thin aluminum tubing and get it all back together again.

     Another wonderful day enjoying our e-readers for a while only got to 76f but gonna get much hotter for the next while.

      About 3:30 a few friends stopped in to join us for Happy Hour. Sharing stories and tips, exchange information is always fun.

      Suzie had decided she is making supper tonight so we ordered a pizza from around the corner at the Country Cafe in Arkona. We had heard that Sue makes great pizza there so had to  give it a try, just cause we can and Suzie said so. 

     We ordered a meat lovers pizza with Mushrooms and tomatoes on it. And I am telling you it was amazing. Pretty close to the pizzas I made in my restaurant with hand stretched dough, lots of toppings and cooked to perfection. I think may have even been better than Silly Al's in Quartzite or a good tie at least.

        Supper done and still a wonderful evening so we headed to to Rose and George's for a campfire we were invited to. Joined by Emile and Monique again more tall tales and laughs around a campfire on a very warm spring evening.

      Soon time to head home and call it a night. With early mornings that I enjoy the nights usually end pretty early as well. No problem, thats the way we like it, or at least me anyway.
