We still having wonderful weather not as warm as what be have been having but still better than back home. At 5 am 57 f outside and did  get up to 70 f today, much warmer in the sun.
Early morning walkabout checking out this wonderful park, as I have done many times before. So peaceful here at this time of year, Really enjoying it !
the sailboat bridge into Grove
Made a quick trip to town to pick up a few food supplies and back home to putter around for a while.
Looking at the back of our coach I found a bird's nest that must have been started when we were at Millwood Landing last week in Ashdown Arkansas. Does not take the birds long to build a nest! It was between our bicycles on the back of our coach.
nice nest almost done, but no eggs, unless they
went away on our over 300 mile trip yesterday
Just a few more walkabouts checking out the park , so many improvements in the last year, The new pool is pretty well done and wheel chair accesable , it is wonderful! Not heated but sure would be nice here in the summer.
Then the storm/tornado shelter right next to uor coach , less than a 100 yards away. We were in there last year. Nice to know that is here and secure, plus the waning system they have is amazing in the area.
this the place
Reading outside enjoying this wonderful weather and more walkabouts.
The washrooms and showers are pretty well done and are amazing. The new owner sure is doing a great job here.
sailboat bridge this afternoon
large lake here to enjoy if we had a boat
summer campsites
are these the same 2 geese we had in Arkansas ?
clubhouse from across the pond
We even got to enjoy some more reading that we both love. Perfect weather for it outside. Then time to fire up our Weber Q and grill a nice 5.5 lb chicken  I found on sale.. Not bad for a buck a lb.
preheat the Q and low and slow
because it was only 60 F and slight breeze took about
90 minutes,but was still amazing
added to our salad was excellent as usual
lotsa leftovers.and more soup
I love my hot sauce
on chicken
Supper done , another walkabout and enjoyed a nice sunset before calling it a night.
Now that was our perfect day and hope you had one as well. Tomorrow should be amazing , then the rest of our stay maybe not so much, but we can always hope the weather gods are wrong, can't we?
       Thanks for stopping on by.

Where have we been this Winter

Slowly heading further north and a bit east still very nice weather.

Where are we today ?

Much cooler this morning way down to 58 f.. But up early as usually got a few walkabouts, computing and coffees done and on the road at 8:30 am. Have a rather long drive today 334 miles, to get to our next destination. Kind of the longer way on road we have never traveled before. So will be nice.  The direct route takes us over some mountains and narrow twisty roads that we don't much care for so this worked great for us today.
lots of nice 2 lane roads, not much traffic and nice scenery
A good travel day though it was overcast most of it, but not much wind and no rain until the last 30 minutes a light drizzle.
one stretch on a good toll road, very little traffic and
great roads cost $8.00 for 70 miles
worth it for us
Crossed many lakes and rivers, very scenic
Shortly after 1 pm we pulled into a Pilot/Flying J  to fuel our coach and us as well. We like these for the RV fuel lanes and using our Good Sam card get a 3 cent a gallon discount. Suzie checked out the food counter and had a craving for a pizza slice. They have a new one there Chicken Alfredo, 2 large slices for 5 bucks and using our Good Sam card we also got 2 French Vanilla cappuccinos for free!.
the chicken alfreda pizza was very tasty
the free french vanilla gave us another kickstart
we good to go some more
Then about 4 pm we pulled into another of our membership parks, (Eagles Landing, used to be Bear's Den) in Grove Oklahoma, one we have been to many times in the past and love it here. No overnight fees for full hookups, nice sites, (cable tv if we want it) and free wifi at the clubhouse.
Just missed our good friends from Ontario Bill and Patsy they left yesterday.
great travel day but the last 30 minutes a light rain
all settled in and hooked up
satellite dish done
and relaxing by 5 pm, perfect
During our Happy hour decided what to do for supper.  Hmm, easy choice, we have some leftover pork tenderloin  so my simple version of pork stroganoff recipe here , quick and easy. Only difference was we had a salad instead of the squash and no sour cream, still was very tasty. less calories too.
yummy? Yes it was
this was our travel day, very enjoyable
This long travel day come with a reward. Kick back a relax for a week here, just cause we can and some not too bad weather before we head back on home in a couple weeks.
Thanks for stopping by and really hope you had a wonderful day as well.

Where have we been this Winter

No big storms . just very warm sunny weather on our last day here.

Where are we today ?
clic on a pic to enlarge it

Hey we are still enjoying some amazing very, warm spring time weather. It was quite warm overnight, down to 68 F. windows open in the bedroom and fantastic fan going we actually had a very comfortable sleep, no blankets needed.
At 5 am still very warm them cooled down to 60 f by 7 am. overcast, cloudy and a very heavy downpour of rain for about 30 minutes. Thunder storms predicted but no sign of them yet.
After the rain stopped skies cleared made a quick trip to Ashdown for a few things we needed, and home in less than and hour, by 9:30.
Still pretty nice out so  dumped and flushed our sewage, check our tire pressure and oil on the coach and the car. We heading out in the morning.
Then a nice light lunch like we usually do. The rest of my homemade chicken noodle soup to go with my 1/2 Banana, Apple and Orange , just perfect.
my favourite lunch
After lunch still nice out so chairs out to enjoy reading outside. At 12:06 the tornado siren went off to, 4 times then stopped. Check the skies, no clouds, no rain, and no wind think it is north of us in another county, so not to worry. Continue reading, and more walkabouts.
Today I finished another book this one by Laura Hildebrand (Unbroken) a real life story about an Olympic runner, that was in WW11 as a pilot, his plane crash in the south pacific, captured by the Japanese and his years in the POW camps. Very enlightening about some of the very sad things that happened back then.
Next book on the agenda that Suzie enjoyed is this one below. Love when we can enjoy some reading time outside, and usually year round for us.
now getting into this one too
Most of the day slightly over cast but lots on sunny periods, light winds and temps actually got up to 82 f in the shade, yup gotta love it!
While we were outside a new neighbour from Port Rowan Ontario (Chris) stopped by to chat for an hour or so. They have been rv'ing for many years, just came from a rally in Texas, but he finds the travel days very tiring for him now. Maybe 200 miles tops and rest for a while. No wonder he is 88 years old ! Does not look it though, loves the lifestyle. And he just happens to know our favourite funeral director (Jeff Glendinning) that has a funeral home down there as well, small world.
what a wonderful day here
Eventually more reading and walkabouts time to whip up supper. Planned for tonight the rest of our chicken pot pie ( made the other day) and a salad. Just reheat the pie in the oven and we enjoyed more of this tasty pie, crescent roll and salad..
hey worked for us no muss , no fuss
love leftovers
Now we have taken it easy for a week and enjoyed more wonderful weather, time to hit the road on the morning, Heading further north and slightly east, no rush just exploring some new areas that we have not travelled before.
Thanks for taking the time to drop on by and hope you had an awesome day as well.

Another wonderful day that we can enjoy here. It was 60 f overnight windows open for a great sleep, and over cast most of the day at about 72 f. No winds that we noticed, then around 3 pm the clouds cleared and we enjoyed 82 f for a few hours. Deployed our awning and we were good in the shade.
Early this morning just after 8 am, I took drive down the road to (couple miles) to Yarborough Landing. Just nice small village right on the Millwood lake with a boat launch ramp very popular with the local fishermen here. A pretty busy spot here on an early Tuesday morning.
lots of boats out on the lake
more fishermen coming
keep your eyes open
fishing on the docks
trying to catch the BIG one
huge fishing tournament coming soon
gotta love the prize money!
notice the Helipad right here
Now home to putter around for a while loving the warm weather. Walkouts the area and whip up a light lunch,
ponds here still no Gator spottin
Now because we  can and we leaving soon I took a couple loads of laundry to the park Laundry,
Read my book between laundry cycles  then Suzie can put it all way, Working like a team we got it done in no time,
Now between walkabouts got some very nice reading done
and we even discussed a few
plans as well
got pretty hot when the sun came out
so awning comes into play
Soon time to whip up supper, and tonight another wonderful feast of pan fried catfish that we love.
sure do love this catfish
added to our salad and some grilled lemon
it was awesome
After supper was still a very warm evening so we did sit outside reading a bit more until about 7:30 Suzie has a show she wants to see, So inside, wrapping up this blog posting, after another nice sunset.
a very nice sunset tonight
Thank y'all for stopping on by, hope you had a wonderful day as well!

Got up this morning at 5 am and 65f,  now this is awesome. It was very warm overnight and our Fantastic fan going and just the bedroom windows open was great for sleeping. Love our fantastic fan, and the bonus is they have replaced any repair parts for free (including shipping), over the years, even with our 18 year old fan.
Lookingout our kitchen window watching  these Canada Geese , looks like they following us back home.
About 8:30  this morning I did a drive around the area and into town. Stopped by the road side to take a pic of these blossoms on the trees.4 way flashers on and before I know a friendly local fellow stopped to see if I needed help. I waved him on by and said that I was fine. Talk about friendly people here, this was wonderful.
this the pic I stopped to take
Travelling along these roads there is so many trucks taking loaded of lumber to the Domtar pulp and paper mill in Ashdown and they just barrel on down the road.
these guys are nonstop,
not sure where they get the
lumber
interesting to see them heading back
the trailers are lifted to the back  of their trucks
cool.
Back home to putter around for a while and whip up a bite for lunch, Then can enjoy a wonderful afternoon , out side in the shade reading with our e-readers in the shade. Only 80f  today but the shade is welcome.
Like I always do , read a bit , putter around, read a bit walkabouts, just can't sit for a long time. suits me just fine.
here is the lovely pool, all ready to open
just not  quite yet
this is us so quiet here, love it
clear blue skies and nobody around
behind us overlooking the lake
still watching for alligators, but no luck yet
these  geese look like they are wanting to nest
still no gaters
time to whip up supper, tonight a cornish hen and
fresh asparagus on our Weber
Q.
less than an hour
done to perfection
sure hit the spot,
no leftovers tonight
Enjoying this wonderful weather while we can. And love every minute of it.
Thanks for stopping on by and hope you have a great day as well.
