First day of Fall and moving on down the road, loving it!

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
First day of fall, where did the summer go. cooling down just like that overnight.
Another wonderful nights sleep, up at 5 am puttered around had my oatmeal, coffees and computing done, Then shortly after 8 am taking our time secured the coach, hooked up the car and on the road about  8:40. Wanted to get this done before the rain predicted to begin at 9 am, And yes it began right at 9 am!
Hooked up and ready to hit the road,
good bye Camp Awesome see you in the spring
Which way to head to Rock Glen? So many choices of routes, think we will take Maplewood side road, quiet newly paved 2 lanes and next to no traffic, a very relaxing drive, A bit of light rain on and off but no big deal arrived at Rock Glen shortly after 10 am and heck it is raining here. Heavy for a bit then a light drizzle. Taking our time between rain drops we got set up on our site and enjoy a light lunch at 11 am. The sun is coming back out , yahoo! And a comfortable 72F.
a nice country drive
we passed the Dairy farm Suzie grew up on
our Nephew works it now
this is Maple wood, 6 houses and a farm
Just before turning into Rock Glen Resort we spotted this nice rainbow, right at our destination.
we heading to the end of the rainbow
Puttering around and Tucker dropped by to see Suzie, dragging Gerry along with him.
doggie fix for Suzie
the site we enjoy here, no campsites  beside, in front or behind us
the campground so quiet now, perfect
relaxing and peaceful here.
We relaxed in the shade enjoying our page turners. Suzie charging her I-pad and spotted this critter crawling up her charge cord.
first one this year a walking stick is what we call them
The shortly after 3 pm Happy Hour evolved at our place as usual. Rob and Pat, (we have camped with for many years), as well and Paul and Judy. Sharing stories and getting  together again is always fun with these guys.
a fun Happy hour
They headed home before 5 pm , out chicken almost done to perfection on our Weber Q.
love our chicken on the Weber Q when we can get them for a good price
Lotsa leftover chicken and bones, think a chicken soup needs to be whipped up tomorrow, like why not? And of course chicken for lunches as well.
Nice to be here for a couple of weeks again with  full hook ups and no overnight fees. Last time her this year before we make our migration south to warmer winter temperatures.
A great day we enjoyed new scenery and friends again and relax a bit more.
Thanks for taking the time to join us and hope you had a great day as well.

Did it again I slept in 6:30 this morning! 55F  at that time. This cooler weather seems to be making for a very good night's sleep. So got some coffees and computing taken care of and enjoyed a nice walkabout that was shortened when the rains began. only a 1/2 mile done then headed home. Our Good friends Kim and Ken dropped by to say see ya later and they pulled out this morning heading back home. I am sure we will meet up again on down the road this winter. Puttered around for bit had an early lunch. The rains stopped and sun came back out. Then with laundry sorted I headed into town to let the machines do their magic.  Of course I can enjoy my reading in the car so peaceful here and now enjoying some sunshine.
Back home by noon, while I was gone Suzie had cleaned our home, washed the floors while I was out of her hair, perfect timing. Then she put the folded laundry away and I set about to store our Weber Q, defrost our fridge, fill our fresh water tank, check our tire pressures and oil before we head out in the morning, almost done and Paul dropped by for Happy Hour. I wrapped the rest of it while he chatted with Suzie. Then I could join them for a bit.
When he headed home we enjoyed our page turners for a while then  whipped up a tasty salad for supper tonight.
our views most of the day a comfortable 76F
and sunshine off and on
About 5 pm time to whip up supper, tonight light and tasty, our usual salad topped with some leftover Turkey breast and the rest to the Tomato , onion Cucumber salad from last night . This sure hit the spot tonight and more than enough for us.
tonight's supper sure hit the spot
We ready to move on down the road again after 2 weeks in one place. Back to Plattsville and get the brakes serviced on our coach, oil change etc... getting ready to soon head south for the winter months.
Glad that y'all dropped on by always nice to hear from you if you care to say Hi..

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Slept right through the night right until 5;30 this morning a wonderful 65F outside . No issues at all with my finger sure feels much nicer not being cramped and bent like it was, tomorrow we go to for some Physical therapy and exercise back to Stratford again. Got in a nice walkabout the campground this morning so peaceful now not many camping right now just the way we love it. Noticed too the outdoor pool is now closed for the season getting ready for the fall and winter weather .
the orchard camping is empty
the outdoor pool ready for winter weather
indoor pool open all year
We enjoyed a light  early lunch puttered around for a bit, new windshield wipers on the car, read for a bit then enjoyed a nice visit from Rich and Marylou, who have camped here for years. But sold their trailer this year, no more camping for them a few health issues. But still doing wonderful. Now at 2 pm today enjoying this wonderful summer like temperature in the shade 81f at 2 pm Feels like 97F perfect to read outside in the shade. You know it's nice out when Suzie is in shorts!
what a perfect afternoon it was
Marry Lou and Rich stopped by for a visit
nice to see them again
Then a bit later Dorothy (the cat Lady) stopped by to gift us some wonderful produce from her garden, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. Thanks so much Dorothy!!! Loving these.
nice fresh garden produce for Dorothy
Joe had invited up the hill for Happy hour today for 3 pm so that be where will are going today. Check out his trailer and campsite just because we can. Ken and Kim joined us as well.
Before we sat down he gave us tour of the inside of their 5th wheel, Totally painted the oak trim and cupboards inside as well and new flooring. What an amazing job he did  and really like the way it turned out, so much brighter.
from dark wood to bright and open
he even installed new light vinyl flooring as well
this looks awesome
Now to enjoy outside Happy hour , flapping our gums telling stories, lotsa laughs and too much fun with good friends.
They have a very nice site here
Choco making friends with Ken
and even a nice rub from Suzie
doggie fix from Choco
Eventually we headed home tome to whip up supper. making a salad and preheat our Weber Q, looks like a storm is coming, thunder and lighting.
soon it was here
yup we got the rain
Yup is came but no problem the storm came from behind us so our awning open will keep us dry, and the rain came down big time for about an hour.
but not wet here grilling our chicken and reading while it cooked
For supper tonight grilling a couple of boneless skinless chicken breasts on our grill mat with some  tasty bourbon BBQ sauce to go with our salad.
really like this BBQ sauce
not long these were done to perfection and glazed on our grill mat
added to our salad did  the trick tonight
even some left over chicken for lunch
Now we both enjoyed a wonderful very warm summer like day, walkabouts, visit friends, a nice Happy hour and a tasty dinner . What more can we ask for?

Dupuytren's Contracture part two, wow was awesome !

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Hey another great sleep and I really slept in until 5:45 this morning perfect. 62F at that time and gonna be a wonderful warm sunny day, too bad the afternoon will be spent in the car and doctors office, at least a wonderful day for the drive 1 hour each way. I got a nice morning walkabout enjoying this mild weather. puttered around, we discussed travelling options for this winter, so many choices, nothing carved in stone as we usually just wing it anyway for  awhile Then enjoyed a light tasty lunch, and a nice long hot shower incase I can't have one for a few days after today.
This afternoon we headed into Stratford to see DR. Alanna Fitzpatrick for a 2:30 appointment  to straighten my permanently bent baby finger, this is known as Dupuytren's Contracture  Pronounced  "Dupe-uh-trins" most likely hereditary, my mother had this and is common with ancestry from England and France which I have on both my mother's and father's side. This is not to be confused with trigger finger that can lock in a bent position but can be straightened, mine cannot be straightened without surgery or the injection. I chose the injection though it was not covered under our health insurance, because it is less invasive and a quicker recovery.
enjoying the one hour drive on the back roads to Stratford
4 roundabouts on this route we really like
The injection last Tuesday let the enzymes work and back today for the final straightening. The injected enzymes did the trick and some of the cords that caused the Contracure had already been broken. My young doctor sure knew what she was doing, She froze my fingers painlessly, And once that was in place she massaged the cords and straightened my finger , Wow! No pain , and I was all concerned about this procedure for nothing. Simple easy and no surgery we were impressed. Especially me I can now straighten this finger yippee ! Mind you I need to go to therapy  for exercises to stretch the tendons and wear a splint at night for a while but feels so good.
Not bad for only one week. Paying for the drug sure was worth it.
Here I am waiting for Doc to straighten my finger
the splint I will wear at night
I can now straighten this finger and will get better
as I do the stretching exercises
We go back to the hospital in Stratford this Thursday for the therapy session to work on the tendons that have been cramped up for years.
We got back home before 5 pm and was till 83 F , perfect, so a short Happy hour just the 2 of us and fired up our Weber Q to grill a couple of Turkey burgers  for a wonderful tasty supper.
love these turkey burgers
english muffins in foil to warm up
fully dressed sure hit the spot tonight
Now to enjoy more of this very warm evening outside wrapping up the posting. Ken Wilson  dropped by to chat for a bit see how my finger was doing. And it was wonderful, no pain no issues. Feels so great that I will soon have full use of it again.
Thanks again for dropping by and hope y'all had a wonderful day as well.
