Even cooler again last night 50F at 5:30 this morning. Had my oatmeal coffees and computing, no walkabout today my lower back is bothering me. Need to see my Chiropractor soon put everything back in place, it has been a while. So puttered around getting ready to hit the road this morning, satellite dish stored, coach secured, car hooked up and on the road about 9:20. no rush only about a 90 minute drive today.
Checking our google maps find there is some construction and detours. This is summer in Ontario road work, detours, and we enjoy these detours , mostly roads we don't normally travel so some new interesting scenery along these back roads. New towns and some nice rolling hills.
our scenic route today |
leaving Rock Glen resort |
all good roads and new scenery |
I set up our satellite dish, and Weber Q, secured our awning and hopped on the mower to check out the sharp blades , wonderful, sure does a nicer job now. So I carried on a bit and mowed the centre section of this yard about 1/3 of the 5 acres. I like doing this part because I can do it in a circle from the centre out just keep going round and round getting dizzy then larger until all done. looks kind cool when it is done.
A comfortable 79F with a cool breeze and sunny skies and wonderful day as summer is winding down.
mowing around the edges |
then the circle getting karger each pass |
here we are set up at Camp Awesome so much space and quiet here |
love the view we have here from our Patio |
Soon time to whip up supper, tonight doing a whole chicken on our Weber Q that we enjoy. And felt like our Swiss chalet dipping sauce, perfect for the chicken done like this. The chicken was on sale the other day 6 bucks for a 3 lb bird, pretty well 1/2 price we can do this at home.
we do enjoy this sauce, only in Canada so will stock up before we head south |
about 80 minutes and done to perfection tender, juicy and crispy on the outside low and slow on our Weber Q |
added to our salad sure did the trick and lotsa leftovers soon some soup |
Thanks for coming of by and hope y'all had a wonderful day as well.

Where have we been this Summer ?
What is your winter destination? Is blue flame a brand name? I guess I can check it online. Looks like a good weekend and now I need to find someone to bring me some of the mix you use on chicken.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, we will end up in southern Arizona, Quartzsite, Yuma area, boondocking wherever Dec to Feb, This Blue Flame is a Hearthrite we bought and had installed in Quartzite at RV Lifetyles, they sell a ton of them there. If we meet up somewhere I can bring some, usually have a few packs on hand,
DeleteAnother nice job on the lawn mower!, Looks great!
ReplyDeleteWe're hosting a BBQ next weekend, nice to check out your ideas for a pork loin.
Thanks Jeff I got a good start will finish Monday supposed to rain on Tuesday. So many wonderful options with a pork loin, enjoy and have fun at you BBQ
DeleteDefinitely an awesome camp! Sure nice to have all that space. Those were nice looking roads you traveled today. Seems here on Vancouver Island, whenever you travel it is bumper to bumper cars. Ontario has so many more people but yours and Al's photos usually depict empty roads.
ReplyDeleteIt is an awesome camp that's why we call it that. There is so many wonderful good scenic back roads here in Ontario, we like to stay off the highways where all the traffic is. Much more relaxing drive.
DeleteTo think that the last time you were here it was so hot that you all had to take a dip in the pool.
ReplyDeleteAs usual your dinner looks so appetizing.
Yes it was the short heat wave we had, now more seasonal temperatures, fall is in the air.
DeleteThanks dinner was yummy.
I like to split the bird along the middle of the lean side, then put a foil wrapped brick on top. Cuts down on bbq time.
ReplyDeleteI have done it like that way but enjoy it like this while reading outside beside our Weber Q taking in the aroma of it cooking.
DeleteI know your at your happy place and John even sharpened the blades for you. Have fun. Chicken looks good.
ReplyDeleteThanks JO, nice when the blades are sharpened good even cuts now. Lotsa fun here and relaxing, we do love our chicken .
DeleteWe are feeling fall in the air as well. Could be that winter will be early this year.
ReplyDeleteIt is chilling a bit now, hope winter does not come too early.
DeleteThat mower looks almost as much fun as my dirt stuff. It's sorta like a motorized wheel chair. Maybe Stew would like doing that? :O)
ReplyDeleteIt is fun mower to operate, 3 wheels and a T bar handle. Stew might if he could get on it and it was fitted with hand controls.
DeleteLove your mowing job!! Interesting sauce you have for the chicken. Not available here I suppose. Enjoy your happy spot!!
ReplyDeleteThanks the circles are more fun mowing this area.. We love that sauce you can buy on Amazon.com but very pricey there.
DeleteNice and quiet here we enjoy it.
If you get your back aligned will it improve your dart throwing? ;c)
ReplyDeleteI doubt that very much. LOL.
DeleteWe enjoy the back roads as well. As we left Yellowstone we chose some local roads (county/state highways) to get to our next stop. Some of the most beautiful farming ground, rivers and mountains we've seen as we drive across the country. We do use the interstate, but we sure prefer these backroads. You really have some wide open area to enjoy where you are parked. Do you see much wildlife (deer, etc.)?
ReplyDeleteI saw Swiss Chalet dipping sauce is on Amazon. I'm going to try some of it. We love roasted chicken and we need to make one soon!
Tha scenic backroads are much nicer but the interstates if you want to make some good time.
DeleteLove all the wonderful space we have here, quiet yet close to shopping etc.. Wehave seen sone deer most up the road a few hundred yards, bunnies, squirrels, birds, ground hogs there is quite a few
