Yup its hot! But I can handle it and really enjoy this heat. Because I am used to it.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another warm night with just a bit of AC running to take the humidity out of the air, mostly for Suzie's sake. At 6 am was 73F but feels like 91F according to the weather station. Yup it is sticky. Then this afternoon much warmer.
Why do I like this heat ? Well for 10 years I spend 70 to 100 hours a week in the kitchen of my restaurant  most of that time, over the grill, deep fryer and pizza oven , summer and winter it was 100 plus F so you get used to it and know how to deal with the heat.
warm out ? yup !
Coffees and computing done and outside to have a coffee with our good friend Rob at 7:15 when he stopped by.
Then we gathered up a few items to sell in the campground wide yard sale on this Canada Day long weekend. As expected the campground is very busy but never completely full being a members only campground, We are always guaranteed a campsite here.
Melinda driving by checking out our sale
Our yard sale was slow but we did sell a few things, then enjoyed a light lunch. And at noon I headed over to Arkona Fairways around the corner to check out a few antique tractors and small car show. With this heat not a great turn out but was till nice to see.
By 2 pm it was 93F but feels like 115F, (46C) Now this is summer weather! We have a nice cool shady spot with a light breeze , perfect for enjoying our page turners outside.
I have a very interesting book send to me by Croft Randle a fellow blogger we have met a few timesof Crofts Wanderings from Vancouver Island. Written by Bill Clinton and James Patterson . Love Patterson and this one is quite interesting as I get into it.
Then shortly after 2 pm Suzie wanted to go to the pool and cool down. A rare occasion when this happens, now we know it is HOT!   To the pool we went indoor one was pretty warm but the outside one much busier was very refreshing. Not heated. So that's what we did had great soak, cooled down and chatted with Randy and Gail in the pool for a while.

Suzie with Randy and Gail
After the swim we stopped by the store to grab an ice cream, just because we could and a perfect day for it.
yummy ? yup!
we have a wonderful cool shady spot with a light breeze, perfect
Then just after 3 pm Rob and Pat joined us for Happy hour along with Randy and Gail, a nice shady cool spot behind our coach. And as usual shared more stories , had a few laughs and just had a fun time.
Soon time to preheat our Weber Q and grilled a couple of boneless skinless chicken thighs to go with our salad for a light tasty supper in the heat. Perfect !
don't need much food tonight
this did the trick
for my chicken I always enjoy my EXTRA hot sauces,
really kicks it up a few notches
Now at 7 pm the wagon ride around the Park with a couple of full wagons expected and our friend Bill Wilson volunteered to drive it tonight.
the first load of wagon riders
always fun ,we have done this many times
After supper we enjoyed some outside reading for a while then at 8:00 pm headed down to the clubhouse and their outdoor deck. A live Band playing tonight  "Flashback" wonderful live Old time Rock and Roll mostly from the 60's. and these guys were excellent. Nice to be outside with our lawn chairs enjoying this amazing weather as it cooled down a bit to the mid 80's F . The nice thing here this is free entertainment for members of this park. Just walk down the road , bring a chair and beverage and have fun.
The band started right at 8 pm
love this outdoor stage
these guys are good1
a few of  us here enjoying the music
A few people did get some dancing done even us, but the only picture that turned out was this one below.
Joe and Nellie enjoying the music
That was our fun day, later than usual for us but it was a perfect wonderful day. Home by 10:45 pm finish this posting and call it a night.
Thanks for enjoying this day with us and hope y'all had a wonderful day and some weather that you like and can handle. .
And  a Happy Canada Tomorrow for all our Canadian friends

Where have we been this summer?

Heat wave hitting us, laundry done and more reading in the shade with a nice breeze.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Was pretty warm and humid overnight but we did get a nice sleep. Left our front A/C on auto at 75F and only ran intermittently and left on low for most of the day. And like the park rules state we had our fridge (now that it is fixed)  and water heater on propane, so we are not drawing too much power from our 30 amp power that this campground has.
Our friend Rob dropped by for a fresh coffee with us about 7:30 am, We chatted for a while then I headed out for a nice walkabout around the park before it gets too hot
Lots of other people have the same idea and nice to see the kids and adults out doing camping stuff and in the playgrounds.
About 9:45 am Suzie had our laundry sorted so into town to get that all taken care of. The Machines did their magic while I dove right back into my book again.
Home for a light lunch and enjoying more reading here in the shade with a nice breeze, Quite comfortable even though it was 93 F (34C) but felt much warmer with the humidity about 85%. Did not feel the need to go to the crowded pool today or even have another shower, I was quite comfortable reading and not doing anything too physical in this heat. Just consumed  copious amounts of water.
Then 3 pm Happy hour time, we were invited to Rob and Pats to flap our gums and have a few laughs. Paul and Judy joined us along with our friends Gail and Randy.
lots of information shared and stories told as usual
And we have OLI running around delivering firewood as usual
to the campsites good deal $5.00 a bundle
About 5 pm we headed back home to preheat our Weber Q, whip up a salad and grill some Turkey Garlic sausage that we love. Of course we can read some more in the shade while it is grilling.
we have lots of nice shady spots here that we can enjoy
not long, low and slow this sausage  is done perfectly
so tasty, a nice light meal for supper on a hot summer day
Now back outside enjoying some wonderful cool breezes and finishing this posting. Read some more of our page turners while enjoying this excellent summer evening, the fresh air and a few children enjoying the playground sure makes for a wonderful lifestyle that we enjoy. hotter weather in the forecast for the next few days, perfect for a Canada day Long weekend. Campground  while yard sale tomorrow as well, think we have few things we can sell.
Thanks for dropping by and enjoying our lazy hot summer day here in Ontario.

A nice pot of soup early today, enjoying this very warm weather and darts tonight too much fun.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
This morning started off very foggy and no more rain. But it was very foggy for a while. After I put a pot of Ham Bones on to  boil. These were a very nice gift from Suzie's Uncle Earlus and Aunt Delores they had left from the Ham Dinner at Easter this year (that we missed), Thanks for thinking of us. You know I love leftover bones for soup!
love this soup mix we stock up when we go south
was quite foggy first thing this morning
While these bones were simmering I took quick trip to Strathroy for some food supplies, and home to drain the broth and put it back on to boil with Hurst's Ham Bean Soup Mix we love, (only in the states) I stock up for the summer. I use the quick cook method and left them simmer for 90 minutes. I also sliced up a Peameal Cured pork Loin I got on sale to freeze some and have a couple of these tasty Peameal Bacon sandwiches  for supper, Another treat we love.
this Peameal Loin was $4:00 we will get a lot of mileage from it
wonderful Bacon slices
While the beans were simmering I went over to help our good friends Rob and Pat set up their satellite dish. So many trees in the way. Eventually we found a spot and they got a good signal then the beans ready to add the rest on the ingredients and another 30 minutes done to perfection. The recipe is on the bag.
This makes a huge pot of soup about 16 servings so I shared some with them and Gerry and Melinda they all enjoy this very tasty soup. And of course we enjoyed some for lunch today and a few more
this makes a huge pot of soup
oh so tasty
I finished  a Blake Pierce novel (Avery Black Series, number 4) "Cause to Save" and was going to read another author, but the last few chapters left me hanging so headed right into book Number 5. The story continues love these page turners with wonderful authors.
book number 5 and right back into it
really hard to put down
The fog has gone, clear blue skies and temps at 86F (30C) loving it and the next few days supposed to be clear hot and sunny temps close to the 100F (40C) with humidity. I enjoy that too, We can run our AC if needed go for a swim or shower to cool down. I think much better than trying to warm up in the winter and the freezing cold.
loving this summer weather we are having
This afternoon we did enjoy some wonderful reading in the shade, temps did get to 93 F (34C) Humidity about 85 % so feels much warmer, Ok Suzie said turn on the AC. for a while, No problem I can do that.
Then at 3 pm Pat Joined us for Happy hour, Rob was doing a repair on his coach and took Paul to the store for a part. We flapped our gums and shared some stories for a while. Then Rob joined us for a bit. They headed home for supper and time for us as well. Darts tonight.
in the shade behind our coach
yummy, the english muffins warning up in foil
a couple of tomato slices finished it off for me
Grilled some  peameal bacon for supper on an English muffins, sure did the trick , quick and easy before we head down to the clubhouse to play darts at 6:45 pm , having to much fun and maybe win?
There was 18 of us there and we got right into it. Ended up Suzie and I were on the same team.  Always fun when we play together on the same team.
Suzie doing her thing
Just after 9 pm we wrapping it up again we were in the playoffs and came in 3 rd place, So we won one dollar each ! Bonus!!!  We play 3 dollars each to play and because we are on the same team came home with money in our pockets for all that fun.
Just wrapping up this posting AC still on for a bit still 78f outside and 80% humidity soon will shut it down and open some windows,  Just about 10 pm soon time to call it a night.
Thanks for dropping on by and hope you enjoyed your day and if in the area ready for a very hot Canada Day long weekend, we are!

Rain, Sunny, rain, happy hour and more rain...

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
A light rain overnight and looks like today is mostly overcast with some more rain. But did get a few walkabouts here and there during the day. Walk a bit rain, home for a bit rain, home for a bit rain, you get the picture. But it was a good day to spend one time sorting and culling pictures from my computer and doing another backup.

Campground getting busier, and the grass ingrowing like crazy
While sitting outside hear this truck pull in so checked it out. Came to take the compactor away to dump and ready for the summer crowds.
up, up and way a good system they have here
Even got some nice time reading our page turners,  Wonderful we can have our awning out and still enjoy the rain under it with this very nice 75F weather, even a few very short sunny periods here and there.
After nice work out in the fitness centre, chatting for a while Suzie had a craving for an ice cream. So down to the office for a very tasty cone.
this took care of the craving
We chatted with a few people that walked by when it was not raining, and more reading between visitors.
more rain
filling our rain ticket quickly
Then at 3 pm our good friends Gail, Randy and their dog Haillie, stopped in for Happy hour. Suzie has know them much longer than she has known me. Nice to see them back here again at Rock Glen, catching up with each other's lives.
Suzie , Gail and Haillie
Then Gerry, Tucker, Choco and a new member here joined us
Gail and Randy and
of course the rain came down again, VERY hard,
so they were captives for Happy Hour
Tucker, Gerry and Choco hiding
The rain stopped and they headed home, I fired up our Weber Q. Whipped up a salad and grilled a couple of salmon fillets, to do with some dill sauce tonight. made with Greek Yogurt instead of Mayo (no Mayo left),
salmon with dill sauce
this was a very tasty light meal sure ht the spot
Because it is still a nice warm night we can enjoy the rain under our awning, as the skies cleared .  Why not? We love to be outside as much as possible whenever we can.
That was our fun day and hope y'all had a great one as well, Wrap up this posting and back into my book. Hope to finish tonight before we head on back inside,
