Looks like we brought the cloudy skies south with us....

Where are we today ?
Ok now we are in the Florida Keys, where did the sun go? Is this not sunny Florida? We were in the Orlando area for two weeks and not a lot of sun, Daytona for 5 days, not a lot of sun, now in the Keys and no sunshine at all today. The weather person was totally wrong.
Overcast and a cool breeze, 62f (16c), but when you were out of the breeze it felt quite warm, hmmm.
Oh well still wearing shorts, t shirts and sandals. Much better than the alternative and we are exploring new areas.
Outside early this morning, walkabout saw these birds below, not sure what they were but looked like vultures just hovering in the currents.
During the walkabout I checked out the pool and hot tub by the ocean looking awesome but would be better in warmer weather, no problem thou, we like it when its quiet here, not crowded or noisy at all.
nice pool overlooking the ocean
hot tub looks inviting but too cool out for us
interesting looking trees
colourful flowers too
Took a thirty minute drive to the grocery store, further down the Keys to Marathon another community here with lotsa services. Picked up a few supplies and back home to research a few things in the area. Looks like we may do a trip to Key West tomorrow and check out the sites, its been 19 years since we were there. Got off a cruise ship on our honeymoon, way back when, and checked out the area then.
lotsa room here the resort is not too busy
Puttered around for the rest of the day, reading and such, then whipped up an easy oven baked casserole. Shake and bake chicken breasts over macaroni, mixed with stewed tomatoes and a few veggies. Perfect for a very tasty supper on an overcast day.
all done, lotsa leftovers too
very tasty, hit the spot
Now tomorrow should be nice and sunny so the plan is to head south, tour Key West and re-acquaint ourselves with that area. Gotta do that before the Thanksgiving crowds on Thursday.
So thanks again for dropping by and checkin us out, everyday in our lifestyle is awesome, just some sunnier than others. No matter what,. it sure beats the cold and snow up north!

  1. Those birds look like vultures to me, saw some in Virgina last week, they are sure ugly birds. You only have to worry if they are circling above your rig. :)

  2. Oh oh .. I hope that sun certainly does come out. It's a beautiful place to be but those clouds need to go away.

  8. We're in central Florida (Tampa bay area) and it's been cloudy here too, which is very unusual.

While you're in the Keys, try getting a Hogfish Sandwich. Much better than grouper...INMHO.

Those birds are vultures...they come to Florida in search of snowbirds (kidding)
