Now we finally got Florida Keys weather on our last day here!

Where are we today ?
Fiesta key Florida
Early morning sunshine, no wind and the tide has gone down. Now we are enjoying the Keys! Sunshine warm weather awesome water views and our last day here, go figure. But we will enjoy every minute of it right here at our site!
Walkabout the resort a few times  just lovin the scenery and all the "weekenders" packing up and leaving.
a sailboat anchored off the point
I made quick trip down the road a mile for a loaf of bread $3.99 ! but it saves a 40 mile round trip to the closest grocery store. They got ya here and they know it. But at least we can get stuff locally.
A few more walkabouts the resort just enjoying the scenery and sites, so nice here and not too busy.
Just gonna share a few pics with you while I am at it too, hope you don't mind. Looking for some Manatees and Octopus that are in the area but once again to no avail. Disappointed  but did my best.
lotsa pelicans and birds thou
Suzie did the usual vacuuming and dusting the coach, I checked the tires and stuff to get ready to hit the road in the morning, heading north towards Alabama.
But we did get enjoy our books in the sun and shade, talk to our neighborus from Ontario, then before we know it the afternoon is almost done.
Fired up our Weber Q 100 and headed to watch the sunset, our last one here.
this shot is from our site
down to the waterfront we can get the real effect
Ten minutes later back home our grill is hot and throw on a couple pork chops to grill. Heat up some leftover pasta from the other night and we have a wonderful tasty supper!
Finished posting this blog then let the tv watch me for a bit until Suzie wakes me up to go to bed.
Thanks once again for stopping in and enjoying the Florida Keys with us, sure was an awesome time here.

Saturday, sunny and visiting friends again

Where are we today ?
Got an email from Sandy back home at the farm this morning taken outside the front door. This really makes us appreciate where we are now, sure don't miss that white stuff and cold that goes with it, at all!
this morning at the farm
Now this morning upright and breathing, gotta love these kinda days for sure. Watching the sunrise here and a couple walkabouts the resort. Azure blue skies, turquoise waters, big birds, fishing boats its just amazing. The only downside is the cool north winds and water filled campsites.
egret taking flight, too cool !
pelicans and egrets in the trees
Now below is one of the seedless red navel oranges that we bought on Clermont Florida at the market, so sweet and juicy!

After lunch we headed 10 miles down the keys to visit with Jim, Sharon, Rolf and Johnana at Jolly Roger Rv resort. Our friends from western Canada that happened to be in the area. We had then here for our Thanksgiving Turkey dinner on Thursday. Their park has a new heated pool this year and it is just wonderful.
here we all are around the pool
lifelike turtle mosaic
lifelike stingray mosaic too
beside the pool in a tree this eagle was watching us, awesome!
back to their house for a visit and cool down in the shade
Rolf brought Peanut over for Suzie's dog fix
About 3 o'clock we headed back home to relax in the sun with our books for a while, then at 5 headed down to the "Lobster Crawl Bar and Grill". Kinda nice to have a restaurant, bar and happy hour right in the campground. Not too busy, excellent service, reasonable and the food was pretty good too!
waterfront patio ,but was kinda too cool for us tonight
We choose to sit inside because it was a bit chilly in the shade by the water with the north wind. Had a couple of brew, coconut shrimp to nibble on then supper was excellent.
The place reminded me and Suzie so much of my restaurant that I ran for 10 years in the 1990's. One man show fast, efficient and great food. The grill, the fryer and the range hood where I spent 70 to 100 hours a week for 10 years having way to much fun cooking.
While waiting for supper we did catch a bit of the sunset in the distance past the palm trees.
We both choose Mahi Mahi (dolphin), mine deep fried and Suzie's grilled, both excellent choices, with fries and veggies, was soo good.
Then a nice stroll back home to find the tide had risen even more, we are becoming surrounded with by the ocean, sure glad there is no waves out there. Good thing we are 14 inches above sea level !
our island in the campground
A bit more computing and watch the tube for a bit then lets call it a night before the waterlevel gets too high, might get scary if we are watching it !
Thanks for stopping by for a read, our day was awesome hope yours was too.

Sunshine, warm and time to relax, life is good!

Where are we today ?
A wonderful sunny morning and gonna be like this all day, Sure can like this except for the strong winds coming in off the Gulf. Campsites on the water are nice but the constant winds can be really annoying. Even if they are almost warm.
These kite surfers are really enjoying the wind thou, they are having a ball, and watching them is fun too. Enjoying the awesome blue/green waters of the gulf is absolutely amazing.
Down by the pier this morning was a young fellow cleaning his fish and in the process feeding the pelicans that just appear out of no where waiting for leftovers. So nice to watch them.
this guys got a few mouthfuls
got it
There is even quite a few tent campers came in yesterday and today enjoying the long weekend.
Now after lunch the wind died down a bit and we were able to enjoy an awesome afternoon in the sun and shade enjoying our books! Sure do love this lifestyle!
Now shortly after 5 o'clock high tide is coming in and we are going to watch another sunset, (gotta do it!) the sites across from us are filling with water again, people have vacated these sites today.
We headed to the waterfront a few sites away to wait for todays sunset and see how it turns out. These waterfront sites are pretty wet, glad we don;t have one of those "premium" sites.
a cool breeze now
finally we got the sunset (5:30) again pretty good
Now we can head back home and heat leftovers. What else the day after Thanksgiving? A hot Turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, gravy and cranberries, so yummy !
yep its tasty
We had another fun filled relaxing day, just kinda hanging out enjoying this amazing lifestyle.
Thanks for dropping by and moving your eyes back and forth across the page, hope your Black friday was as peaceful as ours was.
