Even cooler again last night 50F at 5:30 this morning. Had my oatmeal coffees and computing, no walkabout today my lower back is bothering me. Need to see my Chiropractor soon put everything back in place, it has been a while.
So puttered around getting ready to hit the road this morning, satellite dish stored, coach secured, car hooked up and on the road about 9:20. no rush only about a 90 minute drive today.
Checking our google maps find there is some construction and detours. This is summer in Ontario road work, detours, and we enjoy these detours , mostly roads we don't normally travel so some new interesting scenery along these back roads. New towns and some nice rolling hills.
our scenic route today
leaving Rock Glen resort
all good roads and new scenery
We pulled into John's ( Camp awesome) and worked on setting up, enjoyed a light tasty lunch . Suzie got a text from SIL Sandy , they were at Shakers restaurant in town with her Dad for lunch so she went and joined them for a coffee, I chatted with John for a bit, He was sharpening the blades on the mower, knowing I was ready to mow some more lawn here. Thanks John.
I set up our satellite dish, and Weber Q, secured our awning and hopped on the mower to check out the sharp blades , wonderful, sure does a  nicer job now. So I carried on a bit and mowed the centre section of this yard about 1/3 of the 5 acres. I like doing this part because I can do it in a circle from the centre out just keep going round and round getting dizzy then larger until all done. looks kind cool when it is done.
A comfortable 79F with a cool breeze and sunny skies and wonderful day as summer is winding down.
mowing around the edges
then the circle getting karger each pass
About 2pm Suzie was home so I parked the mower in the shed and joined her to relax in the shade, Read for a while then a quiet happy hour today, just the 2 of us no doggies here.
here we are set up at Camp Awesome
so much space and quiet here
love the view we have here from our Patio
Soon time to whip up supper, tonight doing a whole chicken on our Weber Q that we enjoy. And felt like our Swiss chalet dipping  sauce, perfect for the chicken done like this. The chicken was on sale the other day 6  bucks for a 3 lb bird, pretty well 1/2 price we can do this at home.
we do enjoy this sauce, only in Canada so
will stock up before we head south
about 80 minutes and done to perfection
tender, juicy and crispy on the outside
low and slow on our Weber Q
added to our salad sure did the trick
and lotsa leftovers
soon some soup
Now we can relax out side in the shade finish this posting and more reading time until it gets too chilly then inside for the evening. I took our blue flame heater out of storage and hooked it back up again.. So that if it gets too chilly inside we can enjoy a bit of heat without the noise of our furnace watching tv later on. The nights here are getting chilly again, fall is on the way.
Thanks for coming of by and hope y'all had a wonderful day as well.

The last hot day for a while, and inverter remote installed.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Very warm overnight. As a matter of fact I got up at 2 am, it was 71 f  outside  80F inside, so I opened our bedroom window and turned on our fantastic fan, Now a nice breeze coming across our bed to cool, things down.
Up and at it and now at 5 am 73f outside, gonna be a hot day, Our last one for this year according to the weather gods.
After some computing and coffees got a nice walkabout around this peaceful campground,
Only 4 Geese here this morning by the pond ,
I am sure they will soon be heading south
About 9am I took a nice country drive and stopped by the reserve, to top up our car with gas, and our extra gas can we carry. But before I left I secured our awning. Winds today supposed to have gusts to 37 mph. Even secred our awning may not survive.
What a great deal only$110.1 a litre best price we have
seen this year
Now back home to whip a tasty lunch, more soup of course.  Then because it was such a nice day I decided a good time to vacuum our car, it has been a few months and was in dire need of a good cleanup. Wanted to get it done before the predicted rain today.
no rain yet but did get the car vacxuumed
Now because it was suppose to rain this afternoon I figured now I could hook up the remote for our new inverter I installed yesterday., mostly an inside job. Nice easy inside job maybe? Ok not so easy I have to drill a hole through the floor but to get there I have to drill through 2 heavy metal plates. I forgot about this, last time was 12 years ago. After over an hour and many drill bits I finally got a big enough hole for the wire.  And finally hooked up our remote switch for the inverter. In our bedroom right beside our bed . so we can shut it off at night the we go to sleep. For those who do not know what an inverter does it converts our 12 volt battery power to 110 volts so that we can watch tv, charge our laptops and cell phones when are not hook-up to electricity on a campground. Something  we do quite often. And we do have solar , 2 panels to charge our batteries, so we are always connected even when the campground has power outages.
the remote installed beside our bed
This after noon we only got a few raishowers, much less than predicted. So when I was all done this install we relaxed outside enjoying the now sunny afternoon. Quite windy though, sure glad we secured our awning.
quite warm with  a refreshing wind was nice
the wind was blowing fiercely blowing the leaves off the trees, too early
a very nice day afterall
A nice happy hour , just the 2 of us and soon time for supper I whipped up a salad  and grilled a couple of Turkey garlic sausage we enjoy.
this sausage are so very tasty,
we love them
now we got to enjoy this meal, and can
relax outside for a while
Supper done, dishes done  and back outside finish this posting and read a bit more. Finished my last book and will soon begin a new one. Still a nice night at 8 Pm but if I need to put on warmer clothes other my shorts  I will be heading inside for the night.
Got things done and enjoyed our last hot day that we will not see for a while.
Hope you enjoyed a good day as well and thanks for tagging along.

Slept in again this morning! after 6 am , wow ! About 7:30 I headed out for a nice country walkabout and ran into Patsy on her way back home. Such a beautiful day it is going to be.
hey Patsy, good morning
About 8:30 this morning Bill and Pasty, took Rob and Pat in their car and we followed them in our car with George and Rose to the Tuesday farmers Market and stock yards in Keady. About 40 minutes away. We were here last year and a few times many years ago. Always a great market.
very small village in the middle of Ontario farm country
We parked in a huge field and walked the market. The 8 of us split up and agreed to meet back at this entrance in 2 hours (11:30).
Rose and George ahead of us
Now we wandered, check out things  not much we need other than consumables, but always enjoy great farmers markets.
playground for the kids
And so many vendors with wonderful fresh local produce , this is Southern Ontario farm country so their should be.
fresh field Beef steak tomatoes, we got 4 large ones for $3.00.
cured and smoked sausage
our favourite hat vendor we see at , Grand Bend, St, Jacobs, here and Zurich markets
have bought many hats from him over the years
so much fresh produce is amazing
perfect weather for a Tuesday market,
lots of people always here

fresh corn $4.00 for 13
pony rides for the kids
quite a few mennonites here shopping and vending
even a few buskers
About 10:40 Suzie was hungry, no breakfast, So we bought some sausage rolls and split an order of fresh  cut fries.
this is a busy spot but they are quick and good fries
sausage rolls and fries we split, did the trick
Also ran into Bill, Patsy , Rob, Pat, George and Rose about the same time we carried on a bit more.
these buskers on a short break, she is petting her pet bunny
truck loads of fresh corn here
these guys playing now and do a fantastic show
kettle corn party size !
On the way back from the Keady Market we stopped by the Moto Cross park near Chatswiorth Ontario , the link for this facility is HERE ,  Where our grandson (number 4) is for a week. Training at the camp and having the time of his life. Non stop activities . His birthday was yesterday just turned 11 years old and is an amazing young guys that love his sports and action of all kinds AND does very well at all of them.
we watched the track for a while
of course we can't see him with all his gear
this is where they stop for lunch
But they stopped for lunch at noon and we were just in time, He found us!
his ride for the week
always love his smile
He spotted us came over for a hug, and a much older fellow rider told us that he sure is an amazing rider, ready to move on only his second day here.
it was so nice to be able to see him here,
not far from our place at Bill and Patsy,s  in Durham
a nice country drive back to the ridge
we bought these huge tomatoes and sweet cherries
It was a quiet afternoon as everyone relaxed after our busy morning excursion at the market. Then a bit of a Happy hour chatting and comparing notes.
the Kings thrones, King William and prince Robert
Chatting for awhile glad it was not to hot and sunny, quite a warm summer day.
Good friends George and Rose
Soon  time for supper, griledl a couple of cobs of corn and reheat 2 leftover hamburgers on our Weber Q. They are cooked so just heated up in foil for a bit with some BBQ sauce, very moist and tasty.
2 english muffins warming in the front and burgers is the back
this sure did the trick tonight, all that we needed
After supper outside this quiet place here at the Ridge, finish posting this blog read for a bit and soon call it a night.
Thanks for taking the time to stop on by and hope your day was a fun one as well.
