Where are we today
clic on a pic to enlarge it
Woke up to a much cooler damp foggy morning today. But is gonna warm up nicely again. Headed to Pettigrew's Garage for 8 am, glad it is only 3 blocks away, don't want to drive too far in the fog this morning. Got Dale to check the wheel balance on the one tire from last year that we did not check and sure enough it was out of balance. All good now.

pretty foggy here at 7 am |
By 9 am the fog had burned off and all was good again. Skies clearded and temps back into th 70s F again, wonderful.
We headed to New Hamburg to pick up Suzie's Dad to go for lunch. In the parking lot noticed this interesting car that I have never seen before. And I just had to go check it out. And Audi R8 all wheel drive. With a V8 engine under the back window. It has a top speed of 315 kph (195mph) But for this year it has a V-10 engine top speed 330 kph (209mph) List price starts around $180,000.00. Think for that money we could have a very nice RV, not as fast but something we could enjoy much more.

Interesting? |

no trunk a V8 engine |
Well we met her Dad, brother and SIL and the 5 of us did a nice country drive to
Anna Mae's Restaurant in Millbank Ontario a nice article was done by The Food Network's show "
you Gotta Eat Here" you can click
here to see it. We have been here a few times in the past, one of our favorite places to go for home cooked meals. But our main reason is always for their Broasted Chicken, the best we have had anywhere. They seat 178 people (maybe more with the new additions and there is almost always a line up to get in. 5 minute wait at 11:30 and we were seated in one of the many dining rooms. Always great service and excellent food.

the huge arch is part of the new addition |
|
great idea for old pallets |

of course we all had the chicken

|

This is Amish/ Mennonite Country and most the employees if not all are Amish. Some ride to work on their Bicycles. Check them out below, no pedals !

Amish Bicycles cool eh? |
While we were gone George from
M&G Portables stopped by to pump out our sewage tanks before we hit the road in the morning. Thanks George see ya in the spring.
Then we home around 3 pm and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon enjoying our e-readers outside. My newest book by Lisa Scottoline (Think Twice) another interesting murder mystery novel about twin sisters. We read until almost 7 pm in between a couple walkabouts, putter around and stuff. Now getting cooler and dark, time to head inside. Post the blog and relax with our popcorn, apple and a show on tv (Lethal Weapon).

what a wonderful afternoon |
That was it for wrapping up things and family visits. And after that wonderful filling lunch, plus desert, supper tonight is sharing some popcorn and an apple.
Thanks for stopping by again and tomorrow's posting will come to you from Cambria New York at least that's our plan.
Where have we been this Summer
Looks like a nice place to have a meal. Maybe someday when we're in the neighbourhood we'll give it a try.
ReplyDeleteSafe Travels and Enjoy the drive.
It's about time.
It is worth the drive, many bus loads come here from all over.
DeleteSo nice to say your final good byes till the spring. Love that table with the buggy wheels. Enjoy your drive tomorrow. So begins a new adventure, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteNice to see everyone before we leave, The buggy table is sure special, so looking forward to getting on the road again.
DeleteGeez Louise...Send me some of that cheesecake up here to Washington State...I'm drooling....
ReplyDeleteUpriverdavid
The cheesecake was wonderful.
DeleteSo you going to run back and buy that red car. It sure would be fun to see you running around in it while boondocking in the desert.
ReplyDeleteThat car is out of our price range, but it would be fun to take it for a spin.
DeleteOh that restaurant. My sort of place. Old world charm and fab food. The chicken and cheesecake would have been my choice too. Loved the carriage seating. Was it reproduction? The Amish bikes look like posh scooters. Fascinating post. I'm going to look up that book. I'm still stuck in my chick lit. It's taken ages as I find reasons not to read due to it being uninspiring. I won't move on though and abandon it. I have to see it to the bitter end.
ReplyDeleteAnna Mae's is a wonderful place for homemade food, and charming. The Buggy table was custom made by the Amish just for this purpose but real buggy wheels and parts. The bikes are like adult scooters would be fun and a nice way to travel about.
DeleteI am enjoying this book a fast read and hard to put down.
Many years since we've been to Anna Maes and it was definitely a favorite place of ours. They sure know how to do things right. I think we're right on the edge of avoiding the nasty winter weather which will be upon this area shortly. All the best in your upcoming travels this winter.
ReplyDeleteThey sure do know how to make a wonderful meal and is consistently good as you well know. We have been missing nasty so far lets hope we can keep it that way all winter. Enjoy your travels too, and maybe our paths will cross again.
DeleteSafe travels George and Suzie. Leaving here on Monday, we will see you in the South West somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThe exciting adventure begins once again, you guys travel safe too. Lots to see and do in so many places along the way.
DeleteWe love Anna Maes as well, at least 2 of Bill's daughters worked there for quite a few years. We see those bicycles being used on our travels up here a lot! Safe travels today guys, looking forward to your U.S. post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Patsy, we looking forward to being on the road again too.
DeleteWhat a nice send off...
