4 couples here from Rock Glen resort, 6 couples from Ontario, like old home week, enjoying this amazing sunny desert day.

The wind went away and today was very warm. This is wonderful! Nice early morning walkabout and caught a not to bad sunrise.
I was on a mission to head to the Yuma foothills to pick a a propane hose for our Weber Q From Al's rv. The old one is 15 years old and very stiff needs to be replaced, I priced an 8 foot one in Quartzsite at $40.00 but got a 12 foot one here for $29.00 at Al's Rv. Hey works for me and is much nicer.
When I got home Gerry had a dead battery on their truck. He had left his GPS turned on for 2 days and killed the battery, We tried to boost the truck and no go.
Tried to charge it with my battery charger and would not take a charge, no voltage. disconnected the battery and the truck started with a boost and ran with no battery. Yup needs a new battery.
checking and testing
He removed the battery and we headed into town. But just down the road there is a gas station and they just happened to have exactly what he needed. An Interstate battery and it was good. Decent price and saved us driving to Yuma there and back about 20 miles and an hour searching.
Back here quickly installed it and the truck fired right up. But looked like the original battery 8 years old, was due anyway.
I replaced our old propane hose that was very stiff this one is much better to store now.
old propane hose was in need of replacement
This afternoon 2 more couples arrived from Ontario Canada. feels like old home week here. Our friends John and Barb for Buckhorn Ontario and Mike and Dee we met 4 years ago and have stopped their full time lifestyle to become snow birds. We are all in the same area now how cool is that. 6 couples all here at the same park at the same time 2.500 miles from home!
Now while it was still warm and everyone had their space during the day we gathered shortly after 3 pm for our social hour, Catch up meet new people and again flap our gums, always a fun hour. Sharing stories and getting to know each other. As it cooled down around 4:30 was time to head to our homes. Enjoy our meals and relax for the evening.
we all here at Gerry and Meilinda's today
 in the sun
and me here with the big hat
Supper tonight we enjoyed a 1/2 of a huge spaghetti squash with marinara sauce, and left over turkey, sautéed with mushrooms, onion, celery carrots and garlic. and a tasty side salad. Sure was tasty and of course more leftovers.
tasty? yup !
What a great day we had, got things done, not too busy, warm and sunny, no wind, a fun social time and a tasty homemade supper. Sure beats the cold and snow back home.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you had a great day too.

Sunny and warm but a windy day, exploring more vendors in Mexico. we having too much fun here.

Where are we today?

This morning at 4 :30 am when I got up was not too bad, about 40f outside, but a north wind about 25 mph was kinda chilly out there, but sure beats the snow and  blizzards they are having back home and arctic cold weather.
Just before 7 o'clock I whipped into Yuma to pick up a few food supplies we needed and home before 9. Wonderful, got that done.
Our friend Melinda wanted to go to Mexico and check it out. Gerry and Suzie did not want to go. No problem I always enjoy wandering about over there.
About 10 am we headed on out only 5 minutes away from here.
Walked across the border and we explored all the wild, vendors trying to sell us there wares. Git used to saying no thanks and keep walking. I have fun with them barter if we want something for 1/4 the price they ask or walk away. Somebody else will sell it to us for the price we want to pay.
Melinda entering Mexico
entering the caves as I call it
so much to see
love the colors here
nice vendor has some wonderful stuff
cowboy boots?
not any more for me
love the signs
We stopped by my dentist to have a minor adjustment done to my new denture, no charge. No problem, got that done and we stepped outside for a a couple of tacos. Fish Taco for me $1.00 and a shrimp taco for Melinda $1:50. Sure hit the spot and very filling.

Then we wandered a bit more looked at lotsa stuff then head back to the border back to the USA.
nice stained glass
Back to the campground shortly after 1 pm after a fun morning exploring. A nice 5 minute line up US customs is rare.
Once home I did a walkabout the campground nice and sunny but still kinda windy, no shorts today.
nice Christmas decorations here
our coach in the centre
By now it was 3 pm  Happy hour and whoever wants can drop by. I prepped the 1/2 turkey we picked up at the Roadrunner Market in Quartzsite, preheated the Weber Q and set it on to cook away.  It was about 6 lbs and I set on a trivet with foil under to roast it slowly. About 2 hours on medium and turned out perfectly.
Fits on our Weber Q 100
nicely ready to go.
Happy hour came and went with most of our friends here and as the sun was setting and cools down the turkey was done.
looks pretty good to me
Added a salad and we enjoyed a wonderful meal. And yup we have lotsa leftovers. Love poultry of any kind. Now I can make more soup ! In a few days. Lotsa things to make with leftover turkey.
Like a monster chicken wing
That was another nice desert day we enjoyed, a bit cooler than we like (will get better) but with full sun all day we will take it and enjoy every minute. It got to 65F today and the weather gods say 70f tomorrow, looking good for the next while. and soon will be getting even warmer.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your day was wonderful as well.

A soup day, sunshine, and more Rv friends from Ontario arrived.

Where are we today

Cooler last night only 45 f but we comfy cozy. But we had a very bright sunny day and got up to 60 f with a cool north wind. Still nice outside in the sun and out of the wind.
Perfect day to make a pot of chicken noodle soup. Had some chicken bones in the freezer so simmered  them for a couple hours to make a very tasty soup base.
all simmered and clean the mea
t from the bones
Then added spices, onion, parsley, garlic, celery, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli  and some broad egg noodles, then we ended up a very hearty Stoup (stew/soup) for lunch. Perfect weather for this.
enough for a couple more lunches
oh so tasty
After lunch a drive about checking out a few areas.
notice the fuel price in California!
West of here for a few miles to check out some free 14 day camping areas on Ogilby Road and found a few nice wide open places that we could boon dock at if we wish. On the way back spotted this desert cemetery, there was markings but no headstones. Really makes you think about who is buried here, when and why.
Stopped at the south end to take a shot of the dunes in the distance.
Back home I found 2 more couples from Ontario (Rock Glen resort in particular) joined us. We are now a group of 4 couples from Ontario Canada and another couple arriving in a couple days. Like old home week.
Rob and Pat, Bill and Patsy
They arrived and set up in time for the ice-cream social from 2 till 2:30 this afternoon only $1.00 a scoop so we wandered on down and enjoyed a nice ice cream sundae.
pretty good for a buck
By now it's time for Happy hour, so we gathered at Bill and Patsy's in the sun was way too much fun. Lotsa laughs, great conversation and a pick on Gerry day. He is a good sport.
Clemson was entertaining us too
a great group, chilly wind but the sun
warmed us up
By 4:30 cooled down time to head home and whip up supper. While I was cooking Suzie got her Tucker fix.
Suzie I missed you, pet me please.
a nice sunsetting about 5:25 over the dunes
Turkey burger and a spicy pork burger for me
did the trick
Took the garbage out and a couple rv's decorated for Christmas.
Then below is a few pics of our Christmas decorations. We are ready for the season.
we had Santa hats for our mirrors
but they blew away last year
these desert winds can do that
the lights, our tree and Yule Log
Always something to do here even when we have no plans, we just let the days unfold and go with the flow. Works for us. No pressure just enjoying much better weather than back home. Meeting new people and getting together with old friends too, makes life interesting. Doing nothing today I was so busy I did not even have time to read, hmm... But can do that anytime. Looking forward to more reading time.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi. Hope y'all had a wonderful day too.
