I was up way too early this morning, must have been anxious to get going. But then so was Dennis and Greg starting chores and milking. Dennis was surprised that our door was open and coffee ready at 5 o'clock. I got my coffees and computing were done early too, but still too soon to hit the road.
So a quick trip to Pettigrew's to see whats new there and was surprised to see the heavy fog along the way. The sun was very bright and the heavy white fog had sort of and erie feeling to it. It was so foggy that the school buses were delayed two hours this morning, second day of the school year!
Now back home secured the coach and ready to go before 9 o'clock. Just as I am backing the coach out of our parking spot I caught a glance of quick movement in the rear view mirrors. Stopped right away and found a couple of young heifers had somehow snuck out of the barn and were running around the yard like a couple of kids. Just needed to herd these frisky young girls back inside and re-secure the gate.

Skies clear and roads dry we had a nice 90 minute drive to Arkona and Rock Glen Resort our home ROD park. We were gone labour day weekend and missed all the hustle and bustle of all the activities of the last weekend of summer, we leave that for the younger couples and children. The campground is so quiet now, lots of empty sites just the way we like it.
one of our favourite sites
lots of empty sites
nice and quiet
A perfect day, hot and sunny but we have lots of shade to sit in and read. Then friends Rob, Pat and Lady Girl dropped by for a nice visit.
Suzie and Lady Girl
Before we know time to fire up our Weber, throw on a couple potatoes and some chicken pieces to grill while we enjoy happy hour.
Happy hour is done when supper is ready, perfect timing, now we can enjoy a very tasty supper, our favourite BBQ'd chicken.
yummy
After supper we were gonna have a nice quiet evening but sometimes plans change. Rob stopped by to chat for a few minutes while Pat did their dishes, and Suzie did ours (we cooked supper). Trish was walking Maggie and stopped to chat with us, then Wayne and Margot stopped, Pat and Lady girl saw the people and joined us, and finally Jim and Eunice on their walk stopped by to chat as well. Nice to catch up with everybody all at once, good friends and good conversation.
We carried on until almost 9 pm, it was cooling down a bit and getting dark, no campfire, but time to call it a night after a nice "quiet ?" summer day. Just love the lifestyle never a dull moment.
Maggies says "Thanks for stopping by"
