Where are we today ?

A wonderful early morning again. Good nights sleep, nice and snuggly in our beds. But have to get up before the sun. Why? Thats just the way I am. Going to Pettigrew's Garage in town for a Lube, oil and filter on the car. Dale does take care of us, asked him to check everything over especially the brakes. Looks like we need a new fan belt and rear brakes on the car. Now bad for 250,000 kms (155,000 miles on the original ones). So he will get the parts and will be back on Monday.
After a few errands just putter about at the farm, mowed some lawn for a couple hours while the sun was shining, and even took the time to cut my own hair. All Suzie had to do was trim the back with my clippers. Good deal and the price was right. (ok, cost me a beer).

Dennis and Sandy headed off to the Plowing Match today with daughter Stacey and grandson Ben. Sounds like they had a great day and no rain for them. I got the grass mowed by the time they returned home, so we could relax in the shade with our books for a while. Then I fired up their BBQ to grill a few burgers for a nice light easy supper.
tasty burgers and a few chips |
That's it for the day, relax on their porch for a bit, watch the sunset and call it an early night.
nice sunset |
Glad you could drop by, my head is nodding now, time to find a pillow!

We were making plans to get our car in the shop today too. It needs to have it's checkup too before we head south.
ReplyDeleteIt's that time of year.
DeleteSounds like a nice day. Those Saturns are sure great cars, too bad GM gave up on them.
ReplyDeleteYes it is a great little car, great gas mileage, reliable and well built.
DeleteI like having a mechanic who will give you an ideas as to what you're going to need to keep a vehicle on the road. When we're home, we have a guy out in Glanbrook (Beamsville?) It's actually over 30 km from our front door, but our entire family goes to the guy. "It's worth the drive..." well, you know the rest.
ReplyDeleteA few years back I think he said he had about 500 regular customers, and that was just enough to run his business.
A good reliable, trustworthy mechanic is a must and hard to find these days. Glad we have ours.
DeleteI would easily drive 30 km for a trustworthy mechanic...
DeleteOur belated Happy Birthday wishes to Suzie. Sounds like the Saturn has been a good car for you. Beautiful sunset picture. Some nice tasty looking burgers you cooked up there for a Friday night. Hope you have a Great Saturday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the birthday wishes. The Saturn has been good and still going strong too.
