The southern migration has begun, a very warm dull day, just getting things done.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Much warmer overnight. Actually 64F at 5am, what a change! But rained mostly all night and off and on during the day.  Noticed the geese are heading south and managed to get  pic of them.
Honk, honk, these Geese are beginning their southern migration
we won't be too far behind them
Got a nice short walkabout this morning in the drizzle, only a mile but better than nothing. Then I headed into Foirest for a couple of things , up the the REZ to top up our car with some cheap gas, and stopped by Juicy Fruit Farms, for some smoke pork chops and pumpkins for the grands when we see them in a week or so. I need 8 pumpkins for 8 grands, so the very small ones will have to do.
really do like this market here
this is the season, for pumpkins and squash
lots of gourds her to decorate with as well
Back home for a light lunch and we enjoyed some very tasty chilly that Melinda made and shared with us.
Oh yeah was so wonderful and so very tasty
Thanks Melinda
Now after lunch still drizzly outside so back on my old mac book pro, downsizing a years  worth of pictures. 2014 took me 3 hours until 2:30 then exported them to my 128GB sd card.. Now I have 5 years of photos on this tiny card and still have 72GB of space left, Really like this card.  They are also backed up on my external drive. Now in the future I will pay more attention to all the pictures I take, and get rid of all the duplicates, and so many scenery pictures that are on the blog anyway.
Next I can enjoy some reading outside under our awning with my sweetie.  Still 73 F but kinda cool and damp but nice enough to enjoy being outside. No big happy hour today just the 2 of us very nice and relaxing.
not a real inspiring day but at least not cold
so peaceful here, now as I have said before
love it here at this time of year
Shortly after 4 pm I preheated our  Weber Q 100 to grill a nice pork loin roast.  And 1/2 of an acorn squash with honey  and pepper wrapped in foil
pork loin and squash another great home cooked meal
this sure hit the spot with some homemade applesauce we were gifted last night
from Suzie's Dad and friends.
That was our very relaxing day , getting things taken care of. Only got 1.5 miles walked today between the frequent rains. And supposed to be more tomorrow as well.
Now outside , very warm  and still posting this blog soon gonna get right back into our e-readers again. Just enjoying this amazing lifestyle.
Inside finally at 8:30 pm , everything secured , awning rolled up no rain yet. 72 F and  a big storm warning,  we know what to do and right across from a secure building if this tornado warning wants to drop by for a visit. Not a problem just lots of tender and lightening  but now heavy winds,

    1. Their is a quite a few Pumpkin Patches where you can pick your own, that we have been to ever the years when my kids were small.. Has been a while since we enjoyed squash very reasonable at this time of year.

  4. The clouds keep promising rain and yet the temperatures are so mild. I'm not minding it at all. Inside stuff keeps us busy enough. Glad the tornado missed you. It is scary to get the warnings across the television screen but not in this area.

    1. We have had a bit of rain, but nothing major. I figured the tornado would miss us and it did, we were prepared just in case.

    1. The tornado did not happen and was a good thing. We will run into some weather in our travels, travelling through tornado ally's when we do leave.

  6. The chili looks awesome! Gotta love it on an overcast day! 8 pumpkins! Glad it's only once a year huh?! But the more pumpkins means more grandkids so that's not a bad thing! Dinner of course looks awesome, I love homemade applesauce!

    1. Melinda's chille was perfect for yesterday. Yes 8 tiny pumpkins no room to carry large ones. * grands and will be nice to see everyone again. The homemade applesauce was excellent.

    1. If we leave too early we would have to come back earlier, to more cold and snow, brr.

  8. Hope the wind left you alone. It's scary when they issue those warnings and we're in these tin cans!

  9. I noticed yesterday that our geese are flying in a V formation rather than randomly as they do during the summer.
