Where are we today ?

We both had a great sleep but slept too fast. Both of us awake at 3:30 am hmm... I read for a while had a piece of toast with peanut butter and a glass of silk. Managed to fall back asleep for a while until 5 am . now that is much better, Suzie slept a bit longer.
After some coffee consumed I headed out for a walk in the fog down the quiet country road here for a mile or so. almost comfortable but very humid again.
|
yup it is foggy |
|
looking down the road to the east |
|
this corn has to be 8 feet high , I cannot touch the tops |
|
almost looks spooky |
|
interesting looking plants in the bush |
Then back around the house we noticed spider webs every where; look so nice with the heavy dew dripping from them.
|
this guy about the size of my thumb nail |
After a nice country drive and a few things in town back home for a light tasty lunch. Dennis and his daughter Stacey went to Stratford to bring Sandy home from the hospital. She is feeling better but will have to take it easy for a while, just like any operation. This is why we are here to help when we can.
Suzie's Dad dropped in for a bit to work on his puzzle frames , sanding and staining 2 more. For future puzzles he has on the go.
Then we could relax in the shade of our awning to enjoy our e-readers, too hot to do much else outside.
|
humid? Yup feels like 97F |
Shortly after 5 pm Sandy was up I had made a salad and gathered bits of leftovers , Ribs, pork, beef potatoes, vegetables, gravy , and whatever to make a large tasty stir fry to go with the salad.
|
this worked and almost cleaned out the fridge of leftovers |
|
another tasty meal, we don't waste food here |
Last night just after 7:30 I noticed a nice sunset through trees behind us. So I hopped in the car and headed on down the road a ways, but missed it, Happened so fast.
|
this was the best I could do last night still was nice |
Now enjoying a nice comfortable evening. blog posted and then we read a bit more out here, just because we can.

Nice pictures in the fog, and the spider web pictures are great as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys it was an interesting morning and a great day overall.
Delete3:30AM!!! Yikes. Great spider web photos.
ReplyDeleteYes sometimes that happens. No problem we still enjoyed the day.
DeleteThanks Contessa thought they were kinda neat.
Happy Sandy is home and doing OK
ReplyDeleteThanks JO.
DeleteYup she is getting her test and up and about.
I have a persistent web building spider on one corner of my roof...He/she does such a swell job every day; then the batz come out after sundown...They see their evening menu right by my floodlights...
ReplyDeletePOW!..The web is destroyed..It seems they leave enough for the spider, it's back building another web the next day.
I hope they have a spider union and are getting overtime..$$$$$
...(:+).......
It is amazing to watch these spiders consistently build these intricate webs, but they must catch their meals and eat to survive.
DeleteInteresting about the spider until, they do put in a lot of hours.
Looks like another wonderful day. Glad Sandy made it home and is doing ok. Nice that you two are there to help out with things (like making dinner!). Looks good, we don't waste food either. Spider webs are definitely interesting aren't they
ReplyDeleteIt was a very nice day after the for lifted. We like to heliport when we can and are needed, makes life easier for everyone.
DeleteLove the spider webs.
Uhhhhh no I'm not a spider lover!! If it weren't for the fact they kill flies, I'd be outside with my shovel every morning.
ReplyDeleteI am not either but they do have their place.
DeleteI'm with Contessa on the Yikes at 3 am and with Nancy on the spider thing. I do not like them in my house, in my car, in my space but out in the field their webs are beautiful.
ReplyDeletenow, I can say that I'm happy Sandy is home and on the mend.
DeleteSlept in the morning wow! 6 am....
DeleteThe spider webs in the open are very nice.
And yes Patsy she is now home.
The stillness of the morning mist, is a great time to be on a walkabout, and the diamonds on the spiderwebs make for some fantastic pictures. Interesting 'chef's mess' for dinner.
ReplyDeleteIt was a peaceful morning walk and really enjoyed it with the diamonds in the webs. so pretty.
DeleteThis "Mess" was pretty tasty , quick and easy too.
