Final full day here in the area wrapping up a few loose ends.

Where are we today ?

Even though we were only away from our "home" one night, it is nice to be back and sleep in our own bed again. Mind you it is always nice to visit with the family and all the grands.
Early this morning it is raining and did that most of the day, temperature never got above 50f (10c). We had things to do, a 10 am appointment in Waterloo, pick up a few items we needed and home for a nice light lunch.
Stopped by the Best Light Pork Shop in Shakespeare, They have some amazing pork products and the best bacon. But nothing needed there. And the Shakespeare Brewing Company, a small new craft brewery, but they are only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon until 6pm.
No sitting outside today to read (too damp and chilly). But we did manage to get a bit of reading done in side, toasty warm with our Mr. Heater (love this heater), so efficient and quiet.
Shortly after 3 pm went headed to Plattsville to meet with our financial adviser  for a nice dinner at the Trail's Edge Tavern, another local favourite of ours. I always have their amazing chicken wings, (mind you every thing there is excellent) but with all the major eating and carbs over the last week and 2 Thanksgiving Feasts I want to lighten it up some. I really enjoyed their Caribbean Whitefish, top crusted with sweet potato crumb, jerk  spices, roasted tomato aloli, fresh veggies and a caesar salad. This sure hit the spot I feel much better tonight.
this meal I really enjoyed
will do it again
Suzie enjoyed a chicken Quesadilla and caesar salad. And Jeff enjoyed a Philly steak and caesar salad. We all enjoyed the good food, great service and reasonable prices, what's not to love about that.

On the way we stopped by Suzie's brothers to drop off the electric roaster we borrowed and picked up any remaining mail before we leave the area tomorrow.
Now back home in good time a short visit with Rose and Ross, then relax for the evening. A busy day tomorrow with 2 appointments and relocating.
Cooler weather now so time to put our (100 lb comforter) on the bed. This is a very heavy felt comforter/quilt  Suzie has had forever. Sure does keep us toasty at night no matter how cold it gets. I call it the 100 lb comforter because once you get under it you don't move much, lol.
That was a nice day we had not too busy just got a few more things out of the way. Hope y'all enjoyed your day as well after the holidays. Thanks for stopping on by.

  1. The quesadilla looks like a made-to-order tortilla - delish! Good choice Suzie! Do you have your route choices planned for the winter? Safe Travels!

    1. It was excellent and she really enjoyed it.
We have some ideas, first Niagara Fall New York to visit with friends then we want to get some dual pane windows repaired in Arkansas. Then somehow make our way to the southwest desert.

  2. Suzie's quesadilla looked good but the whitefish looks and sounds delicious. We do miss having fresh fish, especially white fish and perch, when we head west that is just one of the perks of living on the Great Lakes.
    Safe travels tomorrow.

  5. The quesadilla is my choice too, it looks awesome.
We are leaving our heavy bedspread in the bunky, now that we have our duvet, it is plenty warm enough without the 100 lb. weight.
