Where are we today ?

It was a very cool night and the wind still beating on our coach. It really cooled down only 45f (7C) at 6 am.; But sure could be worse . No complaints here at all. I just bundled up and got a few nice early walkabouts, While our Turkey soup broth was simmering away. The broth made last week and froze. Now a perfect day to make some homemade soup.
Just added a few more spices and noodles and we had a very hearty soup for lunch, even a few more lunches as well.

homemade stoup, banna, orange and apple a perfect lunch! on a cooler day |
After lunch I cruised around the Conservation area and down by the lake. First I checked out the beach. Nobody there! Not surprised , when it is cold and windy. This place is very busy on the hot summer days no doubt.

Now with lotsa sunshine we found a spot out of the wind to sit outside and enjoy our e-readers for a couple of hours.
And of course when we sit outside we meet our neighbours, also met some more blog followers. When we sit outside reading always meet people, part of the lifestyle!

Where have we been this summer ?
Neat to see the boats being taken out of the water and loaded on to the trailer to be put in storage.
ReplyDeleteThat is a heck of a lot of coffee, we wouldn't have room to carry all that with us. Wow, hard to believe you only a few more days before you start heading south for the winter. Bet you and Suzie are pretty excited to really be back on the road again.

It was nice to watch those bring these huge boats out, We are excited to get going again. The coffee is not heavy and we have lots of storage so no problem.
DeleteFrom your pictures it looks like your fall day was as beautiful as ours.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a lot of coffee but when you find one you enjoy it is nice to have it on hand.
Gotta love these sunny fall days. It is nice to have our coffee on hand and the individual bags keeps it fresh.
DeleteInteresting to see the choppy waters on the lake and the calm of the harbor. Nice brisk morning for your walkabout.
ReplyDeleteIt was a brisk morning by the lake, but sunny and refreshing.
DeleteInteresting to watch how they get those boats out.
ReplyDeleteIt was quite interesting to see. these guys know what they are doing.
DeleteThe boat transfer would be interesting to watch but I'd hate to be doing it. I'd rather winterize an rv simply because of the water aspect. That's just me! :)
ReplyDelete2 page countdown now! Have fun with the last minute stuff.
It was very interesting to watch, but we can get a lot more use out of and rv. Not much left to do now, juts putting in time...
DeleteSeems like a really nice day, starts out cool but warms up nicely. All those boats out, what a job! The lake was sure pretty with the waves. Love the coffee and no measuring!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is perfect for this time of year. Those guys sure have their work cut out storing the boats.
DeleteWe do love the vacuum sealed packages of coffee, perfect every time.
I didn't realize they removed sailboat masts. The cool weather has made it down here with lows in the mid 40's
ReplyDeleteThey removed most of masts , not all. Not sure why. The cool weather is coming and going here.
DeleteWe brought 5 cases of Tim Hortons K-cups and 2 cases of French Vanilla with us. Only a couple more days to go, we'll be watching for you. :)
ReplyDeleteNice to take you coffee supplies. We will keep an eye out for you, we are not in a hurry. And keep and eye out for you as well.
DeleteFond memories of "haulout" weekend at the National Yaght Club in Toronto. The guys were all helping with the crane experts, and the gals were all out there passing cups of beef broth... in the evning a great dinner in the clubhouse... Some diehards live aboard through the winter and install bubble hoses under the boat to keep the water from freezing.
ReplyDeleteThat would have been a fun time I am sure. Living all winter in it though , too cold for us.
DeleteI love the fall season, the cooler fresh air awakens my spirit. Wow, watching them systematically bring the boats out of the water and ready them for storage must have been an incredible experience. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe fay is wonderful with with the sunshine and warmer temps.
DeleteIt sure was amazing to see how they did it, Glad that you came along with us.
Interesting day, George. Safe travels when you head south. We are in Crane, Oregon on our way to warmer climes. Lots of California smoke on our way across from Port Angeles to Bend, OR then a bit east. We seem to be out of it now. Winnemucca tomorrow. Beatty the next day then we'll hang up there until it gets cooler down near Phoenix and our park in Florence, AZ.
ReplyDeleteThanks, John it sure was interesting..
DeleteSafe travels for you guys as well, enjoy the journey.
Looks like you found a great place to stop and visit even though it was quite cool.
ReplyDeleteThis worked for us , now warming up again.
