Had a good night's sleep at daughter number 1's in Aurora after another busy fun Thanksgiving day with the kids and 6 of our Grands. Up early as usual for us, I finished my Monday blog posting this morning and we waited until about 9 am before heading out of town, After we said goodbye to our 3 grands here as they headed of too school. South on HWY 400 to HWY 401 in Toronto and westbound to Tavistock. A bit slow on hwy 400 but no delays and we got lucky the 401 fast paced and light traffic heading west, Eastbound looked busy and very slow going.
Made it to Tavistock just after 11 am and Suzie checked with her Dad, he wanted to see us one more time before we leave the area. So we picked him in New Hamburg and took him to his and our favourite restaurant in Milbank Ontario, (mennonite country). Anna Maes for their famous Broasted chicken. Do we need another feast? Not really, but sure can't turn down their chicken and wanted to see her Dad one more time.

Then we took him back to New Hamburg , picked up our car and back to the coach at her Sister's. A nice relaxing afternoon outside on the patio, and a warm afternoon, enjoying our e-readers. It's been a while and so nice to get wrapped up in our page turner's again.
Walking about the driveway spotted this praying mantis wandering about. amazing bugs they are !
About 6 pm we headed inside, no more food needed today, and not much for the next while, thats for sure.
After a fun busy Thanksgiving weekend and back home to our coach in Tavistock, Some appointments tomorrow and Thursday than we head on down towards St Catherines for a Hockey tournament this coming weekend
Hope y'all had a great fall day as well still enjoying this wonderful weather that we are having.

Sounds like you had another wonderful day spending time with family. Plus, it is always nice to be able to sit and relax.
ReplyDeleteThanks it was a wonderful day , and the relaxing very nice too.
DeleteSounds like you've had a busy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe did have a very busy weekend still a few more things to get done yet.
DeleteYou had more will power than I would have had!! Those pastries looked delicious!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very nice Thanksgiving!!!
The pastries are wonderful, but that is one thing that I can resist is deserts.
DeleteWe had an excellent thanksgiving.
Love the buggy booth. I bet it's pretty popular. Nice to get together with everyone before winter sets in. I'd be snatching a few of those desserts.
ReplyDeleteThe buggy booth is very popular usually always someone in it.
DeleteSuzie is the desert person and she talked herself out of it, I was surprised.
I can't get over how Anna Mae's has expanded. Bill took me for the first time a few years ago, in the mid 90's and it was much smaller then. Wonderful place to eat. Of course, Bill's 2 daughters got their employment starts there.
ReplyDeleteNice weekend you've had too!
They sure have expanded and well worth a visit for a great meal too.
DeleteWe sure did have a very nice weekend.
Back to protein and salad! Give those carbs a break. Once in a while it's fun to pig out though. The clock is ticking, the desert becons...
ReplyDeleteYes Peter that is so true, protein and salads is the plan as much as we can. And the desert becons for sure !
DeleteI'm beginning to think that Suzie is an animal lover. ;c)
ReplyDeleteLOL, she is as long as they are other peoples animals.
