Back home by 10 am and got our turkey prepped and into the cooker we borrowed from SIL Sandy. These cookers work wonderful and sure does the trick for us.
As I have done for years I cook the Turkey Breast side down. makes the breast very moist and the Turkey wonderful.

By 3:330 our Turkey was done. So I set it on a pan and let it cool for a bit. Pulled it apart and set the meat and skin in a pan with the broth, I will carve it up tomorrow. When it has cooled down.

Where have we been this summer ?
According to my late brother's neighbour, Tavistock is the best place in North America to buy bacon!
ReplyDeleteI think so too at the Best Little Pork Shoppe. and lots of other pork products.
DeleteYou're having a nice visit too.
ReplyDeleteYes we sure are nice to hang out with them for a while.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place to "camp"!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, nice to visit with them as well.
DeleteWhat a fun time it looks like! Those steaks and salad looked awesome. Beautiful day and beautiful place. Your turkey looks perfect. I cook mine breast down too, but never thought of doing it in a slow cooker. By the way...my spaghetti squash with the red sauce and veggies was awesome thanks to you :)
ReplyDeleteIt is always a fun time with them. This cooker worked wonderfully, breast side down keeps the breast so nice and moist.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the spaghettis squash with the red sauce, so many great ways to serve it.
You've taking 'glamping' to the next level. Great day with family and their beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteLOL,,, works for us sometimes.
DeleteI'm impressed that you didn't jump right in and start eating that turkey! I'd be hard pressed to not give in to that temptation! ;c)
ReplyDeleteI had to give it a taste test but that was all, did not want to ruin dinner.
DeleteYou have a beautiful place to camp and visit friends and family. Sitting around a campfire with good friends....priceless. Enjoy, as I know you will.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much , we do enjoy our time here .
