Hot dogs? But a feast of Chicken wings wow! Lotsa food !

    Another great sleep and George actually slept in this morning until 7 am, a very rare experience, guess he was tired.  Well he was up and at it shortly after greeted by the friendly smiling nursing staff here and on with his day.

The italics bold right below in this posting were typed in by George early in the day before he tired out too much.

     We are expecting a delivery of their awesome chicken wings from Plattsville later today from our favourite restaurant/Tavern in Plattsville,  the Trail's Edge Tavern . They have excellent food but I have fallen in love with their amazing chicken wings, I am sure the the best I have ever had! And after a comment the other day on my blog,  got a message from the owners Marion and Daughter Lyndsay that they would bring some right here! A 30 minute drive. We have known them for years when Lyndsay used to figure skate with my daughter Jessica when I had my restaurant way back in the 1990's.

     After a few laps around here in my wheel chair Suzie arrived and we enjoyed a wonderful day together.
    The other day watching a TV show a family camping were enjoying hot dogs. I sent Suzie to the kitchen for a hot dog. (Hmm no hot dogs?? !) Well talking to the cook yesterday he said today's lunch special hot dogs, Ya hoo! how is that for service? So he brought me 2 loaded hot dogs just he way I love them.

 Yesterday's mid morning breakfast, pancake with maple syrup and peanut butter.

  His usual breakfast about 6 am.

 Today he got his hot dogs with all the fixings. Enjoyed them immensely.Soup fo Suzie.

We got surprise visitors today, Murray and Muriel. The had previously owned Nith River Campground near New Hamburg. During our early years, we went to their campground to dump our tanks.
Great conversation catching up on each others lives.

Then of course, what George was waiting for. Marion Shantz arrived with chicken wings, salad, celery, carrots, hot,  suicide sauce and cookies. What a feast we had. I think she got more wings than she had originally ordered. Everything was eaten up except for the cookies they for later. We did have a taste of course. Another great visit.
We had another great day.

Relocating to Plattsville taking a new route and get our coach serviced. Early Birthday meal for Suzie.

     Another good sleep but woke up extra early today at 4 am (musta slept too late yesterday). So just puttered around no rush. Had an early shower then puttered around getting things ready to go while Suzie had her's as well. Had a few people stop by to say so long for now and hit the road at 9:15 this morning
     We have so many different ways to get to Plattsville and a new route again. All back roads that we like and have found out that they are all paved this year, (Mapplewood Sideroad in particular) So great for taking the motorhome on and new scenery.

     We arrived at Pettigrew's Garage at 11 am, no parking there yet for us, but no problem, just park across the street until they can make room.

    We enjoyed a tasty light lunch, then I whipped into New Hamburg for a few grocery's and pick up a renewed prescription well.

By 2 pm we are in position and have some electricity
they will work on the coach when they can.

       Getting the oil changed , grease job and brakes serviced tomorrow. They will probably start tomorrow morning. So we relaxed a bit more some reading done.

          Now because we can and don't have to make supper tonight are going to the Trails Edge Tavern down the street 2 blocks. For a tasty meal to celebrate Suzie's Birthday, 2 days early (her request). It is on the 18th. They do have excellent food there and great service also pretty quiet on a  Monday night, almost romantic!

         We decided to share bowl of French onion soup to start,
         Suzie ordered a Schnitzel with a caesar salad that she enjoyed.

     Then because it was her birthday celebration she was gifted a very tasty strawberry shortcake   that she let me sample as well.

       After this wonderful birthday meal for Suzie we walked back home to our coach down the street. And enjoyed a very nice relaxing evening inside . Wrap up this posting and some more reading time inside before watching a show on the t before calling it a night.

Perfect weather for a relaxing anniversary celebration.

Where are we today ?

      Another perfect night for sleeping windows wide open and a light breeze. So nice that I slept in until 6 am. and 64F then. Why not today is our anniversary. 26 years ago we tied the knot. And 13 of those amazing years we have enjoyed living our dream as full-time Rv'ers. 280 square feet of living space in our home on wheels. And our love gets stronger every day.

    It was 26 years ago today we finally tied the knot. And have been on an amazing life journey ever since. A fun wedding at her sister Rose and Ross's outside in their huge yard, with a pig roast, and roast beef cooked by a good friend of ours Rick. Salads etc prepared by her Mom and Dad, reception and meal right their in their then New large shed,  135 people inside, with a DJ, dancing even a few of us dipped in the pool. It was hot day! Then our honeymoon my first Carribean cruise, Suzie got me hooked on cruising. She worked in travel for years and has done a few.

26 years ago today

         A nice walkabout town this morning and back home almost 2 miles then to New Hamburg for a few things. Then we enjoyed a light tasty lunch. I was going to wax a bit more of our coach but with very hot weather, decided to go for a swim in the pool, a much better plan, the pool a comfortable 80F at 1pm and enjoyed some quiet reading in the cool shade. I can finish waxing on a cooler day.

        Enjoying the afternoon , nothing planned was perfect for reading outside in the shade enjoying this time together is wonderful.

           We had decided for our anniversary dinner to go to our favourite local restaurant in town, The Trails Edge Tavern only 3 blocks away. They do have excellent food and service so why not. Tonight is the usual Wednesday Wing night that we love, they do have the best wings we have ever had, and we do have our lottery winnings ($103.80) from Monday that should pretty well pay for this anniversary celebration meal. After dinner money left over too!
         Got there just before 5 pm and this place is busy as usual. We did ,manage to a get table for 2 in the corner= perfect, the next bunch of people had to wait for quite a while, guess we got there just in time. We even chatted with a few people that were here wishing us Happy Anniversary!

       Now we both really enjoyed our anniversary day and wonderful meal. Got home after supper and went for another swim in the pool, just because I can. Does this life get much better? Don't know how it can.

      Last night I took a drive down the road looking for a sunset and below is what I saw. Not exciting but still interesting, maybe another sunset tonight.

      This was a wonderful day we enjoyed together for our 26th wedding anniversary and was perfect for us.

     I forgot to mention that yesterday that when we stopped at Canadian tire I picked up the Mcguires compound, wax and applicators. Totalled $70.00 free with our Canadian tire points on our Matercard and also ordered two new tires for our car,  again free, we have close to $300. in points after one year and always make good use of them.

A few more errands, voting, enjoying this amazing weather and a feast of chicken wings.

       So quiet and dark here last night at camp awesome. Very warm for sleeping windows open and fantastic fan running made it quite comfortable.
      Then up early to a bit of ground fog looks kinda eery. Then at 7:30 I took a nice walkabout town for about a mile. Then home to make a couple of sandwiches for the road and at 8:20 into Waterloo for Suzie's Chiropractor.

         While Suzie was in her Chiropractor I got a nice walkabout the block enjoying some of these wonderful old homes on the quiet side streets. And enjoy my Kobo for a bit.

     After here we went to the Wholesale club to get out winter supply of coffee, 3 boxes , 42 packs in each and what we had on hand enough for 135 pots of coffee, at almost a pot off coffee per day. We do love our coffee.

     Now around the corner to visit our financial advisor to go over our portfolio. and still doing pretty good, we are making more money than we are spending. gotta love that!
    Then heading towards home we enjoyed our lunch we had packed, taking the quiet back roads, stopped in Baden to Vote at the early poles (we won't be here for election day) .

        A quick stop at the Bargain store in New Hamburg to get Suzie some new warm slippers for the winter. And of course ran into 3 people we have not seen for quite a while in the parking lots.            
        That all taken care of and back home by noon to enjoy this amazing 83F sunny day in the shade. Enjoying our e-readers. Weather will start to cool down after today so have to take advantage of it while we can.

          Now at 5:30 pm we headed down the street to the Trail's Edge (a favourite Tavern of ours in Plattsville) to meet up with Suzie's Sister, Rose and Ross and mutual friends Randy and Gail (from Rock Glen Resort) for a feast of chicken wings  before we head out and they do their own things this winter.

       This is wing night and they not take reservations but we only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. A very popular spot here in town.

    That was a very fun time with our friends before we head on out for the winter, and doing something we all enjoy a feast of very good chicken wings.
