Slept well last night and late this morning almost 6:30 ! wow. A colder night only 44F at that time. So we got our coffees and computing taken care of then hopped in the car and headed into Kitchener Ontario 81 miles each way. Now we are passing right through New Hamburg and my hearing aides are back from being repaired under warranty so had an appointment there for 10:30 to pick them up make sure all is working well, Yahoo, much better blue tooth is working again for the i-phone AND tv. perfect.

81 miles each way |
Next appointment in 2 hours so time to kill, stopped at Walmart bought myself a new hoody, and Suzie a pair of pants, then still time so decided to go for lunch, Heck another treat we should not eat but decided some KFC, it has been a couple of years and was actually pretty good.

this was another not healthy but tasty treat we enjoyed |
Here it was only 11 am and my appointment in Kitchener with DR. McCauig Ophthalmologist consultation for my Cataract he specializes in these. Wow what a busy guy he is and apparently quite good, in the waiting room was 15-20 people at any given time. One family had driven all the way from Montreal to see him 400 miles each way. He is very professional and right on schedule I was in to get some tests done with 3 different ladies and he came in for the final test and he told me I have not one but 2 Cadillacs . Always wanted a Cadillac and now I have 2. The surgery about 4 months away puts us into winter, hmm, don't want to spend the winter here so we will get back here next spring and get them both done (one at a time a month apart). With all the drops in my eyes and testing Suzie was here to drive us back home, my vision was pretty blurry for a while. We were outta there in 45 minutes.
On the way home we stopped at SIL Sandies to check for mail and drop off a fall coat she has that Sandy will sew a new Zipper in for her. Had a nice visit and back on the road making the wonderful country drive back to Rock Glen resort arriving here at 4 pm . Another long driving day but was very productive.

what a perfect late summer afternoon |
Now such a beautiful sunny warm afternoon we enjoyed a quiet Happy hour outside. After being in the car all day. But the ride home I got to finish reading another John Sandford Novel just as we turned the corner in the park. Nice when she drives and I can enjoy reading for a change.
Then for supper tonight we decided a salad was a good idea with some of the leftover fried pork chops that Donna sent home with us last night. Just right and oh so tasty.

this hit the spot for a light supper |
Still enjoying this warmer weather this evening as long as we can then eventually head in later on, nice there is no bugs here to bother us. By the way finger is doing wonderful still no pain or issues, will see how it goes next Tuesday when I go back to have it straightened .
Thanks for dropping on by and hope Ya'all had a great day as well.

Has to be nice to have your hearing back to normal. My eye-doc says the cataracts are aggravated by an outdoor lifestyle, not so sure I agree.
ReplyDeleteDinner salad looks awesome!
Yes the hearing aides back again is wonderful. This outdoor lifestyle will have to continue as long as possible, there is many causes for cataracts, But being outside I do wear sunglasses and a brimmed hat to protect my eyes.
DeleteI had one cataract removed last year and one still pending if it gets worse. Definitely something not to ignore.
ReplyDeleteI requested and early start for the surgery to get the process started, And next spring will be fine.
DeleteDo you have Bluetooth hearing aids?
ReplyDeleteYes I do love them , work with my I phone and the tv.
DeleteI'm very curious about them.
ReplyDeleteHearing aide specialists can provide you with a lot of information.
DeleteGetting all the appt, out of the way and getting ready to move on out. Must be wonderful to be hearing well again.
ReplyDeleteYes Jo only 40 days left before we head south so want to get things taken care of soon.
DeleteAt least you found out you have two cataracts that you can plan for when you return to Canada next year. It is good you have Suzie to drive you back home.
ReplyDeleteThat's the plane for the spring when we return. I had to have somebody there to drive me home our they would not do the tests.
DeleteGosh we haven't had KFC in a long time either, but do love the stuff! With the way you eat, once in awhile certainly won't hurt you! Dinner salad looks yummy too! I don't blame you for wanting to wait until spring to get them done, after all you have to head south! Nice that you got your hearing aids repaired and all set to go again!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice treat we both enjoyed. Spring time will be much better for my eyes, when we not travelling much
DeleteI guess if the cataracts aren't bothering you then you are good to wait till the spring. I certainly wouldn't want to stay here in Canada in December if I had a choice. Can you prebook for an appointment in April or May? That way you won't be delayed once you get back to Ontario. Good news on the hearing aids.
ReplyDeleteThey are not that bad yet but need to be done, In the spring will be good they will get me in asap when we get back.
DeleteNice to have my hearing aides back.
What a busy day and got all your medical tests done which is always good.
ReplyDeleteYes Rosie it was bust and glad we got this things done.
