Where are we today ?

Here we are again Thursday morning and every day getting closer to our departure. Less than 3 weeks to go yahoo!  I made fresh pot of coffee this morning and our friend Rob joined us to chat and enjoy a couple of cups with us at 7am. It has been a while since we have enjoyed his company in the mornings with fresh coffee and catching up.
Then I enjoyed a nice walkabout the park around a few of the roads of this very quiet campground, getting my first mile in.
no campers here in the Orchard area
We puttered around for a while then shortly after 10 am we headed into Strathroy to check out the Giant Tiger store then our original destination, lunch at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Strathroy Ontario, We had seen a commercial of TV and they have Ghost Pepper chicken wings, And I do love my hot spicy foods. We did enjoy Popeyes Cajun style chicken, first time was years ago in Louisiana of course.
this be the place
this is what I am here for
We placed our order of course the wings for me and a mild chicken sandwich for Suzie some fries and a root beer. These wings are excellent lotsa hot spicy ghost pepper  in the dry breading  some fries, a buttermilk biscuit plus some buttermilk ranch dip. The wings cooked to order, so took a bout 10 minutes plus I got some of their hot sauce to spice things up even more. Suzie enjoyed her Chicken sandwich too!
oh my loved this lunch
the 5 wings large and filling
Back home just after 12 noon to relax outside on a cooler sunny day only 68F with a west wind so a sweater and long pants made it comfortable.
a perfect fall afternoon.
Enjoying the shade and my e-reader when Larry and Barb dropped by to chat for a while and meet us first time.  some fellow rv's and blog followers, that are camped here just down from us, They noticed we were in the park on RVillage. Have been following our blog for a while, spotted our blog on the Bayfield Bunch's blog and the rest is history. And we thought it would be great to meet each other. We chatted for quite a while and what a wonderful couple they are , not fulltime but do travel in their motorhome.
Then at 3 pm Happy Hour and we are having Happy Hour at Paul and Judy's so invited them to join us. And again we chatted with them , Rob and Pat, plus another couple from Lazy Lakes Resort we have known for years, (can't remind their names (CRS) but I can remember the Plate on their coach RVLIMO. Larry and Barb are also Lazy lakes members as well. Even Joe stopped by  again for a short visit. Flapped our gums, a few laughs, and shared lots for fun stories and experiences we have had over the years. Before we knew it 2 hours flew by. 5 pm time to head home, let people enjoy their dinners. Not much for us tonight after our tasty lunch, after the ghost pepper chicken was wonderful!
Larry and Barb , what a fun couple
hope to see more of them
Back home, read and relax for while enjoying this warm afternoon fall weather. Think for supper tonight will be a quick and easy. A hot dog would hit the spot we both agreed, but no buns as usual. But the do had some tortillas, Why not Wrap a hot dog in a tortilla and add our toppings that we like ?
weiners warmed in the fry pan as are the tortillas
quick and easy
added the toppings we like
and all wrapped up, a perfect light meal did the trick
Now after a fun relaxing evening enjoying our page turners, Loree and  Freddie walked by stopped to say hi and Suzie got her doggie fix. we chatted for while and they headed on home back up the hill to their park model.
Freddie and Suzie have fun together
Another fun day here, with a  tasty lunch, meeting blog followers great Happy Hour again and a tasty light supper. Can we ask for anything more? Think not we sure do enjoy this lifestyle.
Thanks once again for taking the time to drop by and take a peek.

  1. Isn't it great? You can wrap anything in a tortilla! My favorite is a slice of cooked ham and a fried egg with lots of super hot salsa!

    1. The tortillas sure did the trick, In seldom ever eat ever eat bread or a sandwich and we had these were so nice a light, When we were there 10 years ago we only got the corn tortillas and did not care for them. Did not care for the bread either.

    2. There are the regular flour or corn flour tortillas. Mexicans prefer the corn. I prefer the wheat.

  3. LOL - I do not remember the last hot-dog in a bun ... in SoCal it's always a tortilla! I prefer the whole wheat tortilla over the usual flour - more weight and flavor, but skip the peanut butter :) Did you need to kick your your hot wings up a bit? I'm lame compared to you, but tried the local version of Ghost Pepper Wings and found them lacking, the 'suicide' wings were way-way hotter... too hot :)

    1. We have never eaten a lot of tortillas but these were perfect, and the whole wheat ones we had the last time.Peanut butter is good on lotsa things. I did not to kick them up they were very spicy , but I did use some of their hot sauce as well. I have never had suicides wings yet that were too hot, but I like some flavour there as well.

  5. I've given up bread completely and just keep a stack of low carb tortillas in the fridge. They are perfect!! Those hot wings? That would be a no, but glad you liked them. There's a Popeyes close to me in Arizona. I'll have to stop in.

    1. The tortillas were perfect, I really don't eat bread at all, Less carbs and less filling but satisfying. I enjoyed the wings but Popeyes does have some mild offerings as well very tasty. No hot stuff for Suzie either.

  6. Oh wow that lunch looks so awesome! Worth the drive I'm sure! I love hot stuff, probably not as hot as you like though :) How nice Rob coming by in the am for coffee, I can smell it now! Always nice to meet blog followers and it sounds like you've made new friends in the process :)! Hot dogs on tortilla's works for us too. Like Nancy, we keep the low carb ones around our house for when we want "bread"...Can't believe you'll be on the road South again in under 3 weeks! How time flies.

  7. Sounds like another good day. Cooler fall weather is popping in every once in a while. Some people love fall but not me so much. I'm never ready for the coolness. Even Suzie has her winter coat on in the evening. A few warm days yet to come. Enjoy!

  9. I also enjoy meeting bloggers in person when they stop by Del Rio or at the Terlingua Chili Cook-off. Have become good friends with some even being invited to their homes.

Your wings look so delicious too bad this is a small town and the closest Popeye's is 60 miles away in Eagle Pass, Texas.

  10. We almost always use tortillas, but have never had them with a hot dog - mainly because I don't buy them much - even though we do enjoy having them once in awhile. I'm going to try it as it is such an easy quick meal.
I always enjoy meeting fellow bloggers as well. Someday maybe our paths will cross as well.
I love Popeye's spicy chicken even with a spicy dipping sauce, but I don't think I'm as brave as you with all of that extra hot sauce on it too.
