Wow it was warm overnight for sleeping 72 F, and no breeze at all. Humidity about 80%. With not enough power to run our air conditioners I did the next best thing. Put a small fan in the bedroom and sure made a nice difference so we did get a good sleep. So good a sleep actually slept until 6 am. a nice treat. And still 72 F. but now it starts to rain, and more rain, heavy rain. With this morning rain no walkabouts this morning. I wanted to go the Waterloo today and pick up a Box of coffee for our pantry, getting pretty low. We do enjoy the coffee and have been drinking it for over 30 years, very reasonable too, $24.95 for a box of 42 pouches .59 cents each and each pouch makes 12 cups of coffee, 5 cents a cup that is very reasonable. Thats how coffee shops make all their money. I did not make as much in my restaurant because I had a bottomless cup of coffee for a buck.
some good deals here but to many large quantities, now living in a small space, bonus too no membership fees! |
we really love this coffee |
love taking these quiet back roads |
She was back home shortly after 3 pm for Happy hour and for supper tonight going to grill a large smoked pork chop that we will share and add to our salad. Now with not enough power to run our air-conditioners. I found out that we can turn them on just for fan only if we need more air movement and use very little power. We will keep that in mind over the next few days. In this upcoming heat wave.
The rain did come down pretty good but we are nice a dry right here under our awning and enjoying this warm rain, along with the fresh smells it brings.
some heavy duty rain for a bit |
then it stopped and the sun came out perfect! |
enjoying this summer weather we really enjoy |
a pretty big chop |
This sure did the trick tonight, so tender, juicy and tasty more than enough to share and our salad to fill in the holes.
we shared this chop almost too much |
Now we can relax enjoying the peace a quiet, birds chirping and bunnies, squirrels , chipmunks running around the yard. Really do love it here.
I did not get a sunset last night too overcast. Maybe tonight and if I do you will see that in tomorrow's posting.
Glad that y'all dropped on by and hope you enjoyed this wonderful weather as well.

Where have we been this Summer ?
When it rains here the humidity always goes really high!! You all have a lovely site and a great place!! I know you enjoy it!!
ReplyDeleteYes it sure does and getting more over the next few days. We really do love it here , but soon time to relocate again, Too long in one place for us.
DeleteDo your A/C's run on solar? You guys have sure had more than your fair share of rain. At least you have the pool to cool yourself.
ReplyDeleteWe do not have anywhere near enough solar torun and A/C, But could run our generator if it got too bad. We sure have had a lot of rain this year. Yes we do have the pool it is very refreshing too.
DeleteI think your getting our rain. We had 2 evenings of heavy rain and now nothing. You sure are getting a good use of the pool to cool down
ReplyDeleteWe have been getting some heat duty rains this year, maybe it is yours. The pool is here and we can use it and love it too.
DeleteFunny how the rain hits and misses. It has sure missed us, very little in the last 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteWe sure have had our fill of rain here and more on the way.
DeleteEven the humidity is better than too much sun!! I think I'm getting the barbecue thing down. Thank you for all the tips.
ReplyDeleteThat hot sun can be brutal for sure.
DeleteYour welcome Nancy, practice on the Weber will help that's for sure.
Beautiful back roads you have there! I have to say that coffee makes it easy for you to enjoy your coffee. Love how it rains and then the sun pops back out! So pretty and green! I know you'll be ready to move on when you can. This s a long time for you two, but ya gotta do what's needed. :)
ReplyDeleteThere is some wonderful back roads to explore. Do love the convenience of these coffee packages. Rain, sun keeps things working. We sure are ready to move again, this coming monday is the plan.
DeleteLooks like your backroads are crushed gravel. That would be a nice alternative to the blacktop. Slower pace and more to view.
ReplyDeleteThey are not much traffic and wonderful views. The slower country pace is perfect for us.
