Much milder overnight at 5 am was 42 F (5C) and no wind so was pretty decent outside. No sunshine though. Just everything is green and growing. As a matter of fact they cast the grass here in our area of the campground.

right on top of our engine battery the robins want to build a nest |
Enjoyed a nice walkabout almost 2 miles so far. Then home to putter around. I hooked up our water hose and struggled with my quick connect fittings. Ok that's enough these have given me problems since I bought them last December. I can fix that, bought two more new ones at the Arkona Home Hardware, a different style and seem to work perfectly. I fixed the old ones, into a recycle bin is a good place for them. I also have been checking under the hood of our coach. We have noticed a Robin coming out of there and sure enough they were building a nest right on top of our engine battery. I have been cleaning twigs off there for the last couple of days and noticed again they made real good progress this morning. Don't want a nest there with eggs in it when we are moving in a couple of days, hopefully they will get the message and build it some other place. We have had this happen before at this time of year.

in no time the robins are building a nest here need keep on top of this |

a decent day here no complants |
After a light tasty lunch I headed down the the fitness centre and enjoyed a nice workout for an hour. An amazing gym they have here, may as well make use of it. Still overcast , 56F (13C) no wind and no rain, so not too bad of a day at all. Too chilly to sit outside and read so inside it will be.It did get to 60 F (15C) but still kinda chilly.

now back into another new adventure with Lucas Davenport and his Prey series really enjoy John Sandford's writing |
A bit later 2 pm we noticed friends Paul and Judy Whistlecraft full timer rver's pull in 2 sites behind us, I walked by welcomed them back to Canada and were invited over for Happy Hour with them at 3:30. So nice to see them again, compared our winter travels for a while to get caught up and headed back home by 4:30. Tonight I am making some Lasagna that Suzie wanted today because it was supposed to rain, so far not happening, and that is just wonderful.

Suzie with Paul and Judy |
Tonight was a Lasagna I threw together. No lasagna noodles, she suggested we we use Tortillas instead like we did in Mexico back in 2009. No problem we can use these for different things more than the noodles. Same meal only better. No recipe posted just fried up some ground turkey, onions, garlic and mushrooms, a few spices and layered all in a smaller pan. With cheddar, parmesan ,mozzarella , spaghetti sauce and baked in the oven at 350F for an hour. Added a small salad and a a couple of garlic cheese buns just because we like them, Not healthy eating but we are sure in for a tasty treat.

Where have we been this Summer ?
Nice looking supper! Your temperatures are the same as here in Salmon Arm. It's nice to have lots of friends!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys it was tasty. The weather is warming up a bit soon be much nicer. WE run into friends most place we go always nice to catch up.
DeleteCorn tortillas make a good crust, we use them for chiche. But never thought of using tortillas in place of noodles. May have to give that a try.
ReplyDeleteSuzie does not car for thr corn ones so we use flour tortilla, They would make a nice crust as well. They worked in the lasagna too was tasty. And no left over box of noodles.
DeleteThe birds are making nest everywhere. The cold weather has sent them into some interesting places.
ReplyDeleteYes they are , just wasn't to keep them out of our coach.
DeleteWow you were over Ten Degrees warmer than we were.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had an Enjoyable Visit and a Safe workout.
It's about time.
It was not too bad outside, no sun and a chilly breeze just made it too uncomfortable to sit outside. The workout felt good.
DeleteYou lazzana looks pretty good and using torillas is a cool idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks JO it was very tasty.
DeleteI had never heard of substituting tortillas for lasagna noodles but you made it work. As usual your meal looks delicious wish you could send me some through the computer so I could taste it :)
ReplyDeleteWhy not use tortillas? Use them for everything else in Mexico, it was tasty.
DeleteThat would be cool to email you some food, maybe someday.
Sounds and looks delicious! YUM! What a nice Happy Hour you had with friends. Those nests are certainly pesky, we have to watch it here too this time of year. Always hoping they find a nicer place to make a home! Hoping the weather warms for you.
ReplyDeleteIt was a very tasty meal, we both enjoyed it. Happy hour was nice to see these guys agin, did not expect them here for a while yet. Keeping an eye out for the birds and is warming nicely today.
DeleteGlad you're getting some warmer weather - in the 80's here on the South Carolina coast. Those birds can be pretty persistent about nest building.
ReplyDeleteGetting warmer but still more cool weather for a while yet. The birds just keep coming back here, really have to watch out for them.
DeleteSounds like a good day in spite of a little wind and coolness. Wish our rain would stop would not mind the cooler temperatures if we could get outside for a walk. Nice to have friends arrive and spend time catching up. Supper looks good, sometimes a little unhealthy eating is called for.
DeleteIt was a very nice day, and nice to get out and about. Warming up a bit today so outside for more fresh air. Maybe not the healthiest but was so very good a treat and more tonight.
DeleteI’m having lasagne with no noodles or tortillas. I have to say I’m much fuller longer!! Weird.

DeleteIt is amazing what you can do when you change you eating habits.
Another tasty meal for you both, I have been looking at your recipes and will copy some of them for when we travel in our van in July. Also we have had trouble with our hose fittings, and even the expensive ones fail us. Hope yours are good for a while now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosie it was a very tasty dinner. Enjoy the recipes most are pretty simple but tasty. I have found the same thing with the fittings, these should be good we will see.
