After a fun busy day yesterday and we had a wonderful sleep, Another cold one and 34F (1 C) at 5am. So I hopped outta bed turned on some heat, had my oatmeal and coffees, along with some computing, and the beginning of a nice sunrise. Not windy and thinking about a nice walkabout, but nope, the predicted rain began and looks like it could be all day long. So I took a wet country drive into and around new Hamburg checking out things that have changed. Always things changing.nice sunrise through the trees |
after chatting with her Dad we followed them to Stratford |
At Swiss Chalet I wanted to try something a little different for a change so today an entre salad Sweet Heat Salad, now this was amazing!, chicken breast with a tangy Thai sauce, fruit and veggies all tossed with a Kiwi Lime dressing, oh my this was heaven and quite filling.Suzie had her usual 1/4 chicken dark meat, baked potato and small caesar salad tasty as usual..
this was a huge amazing salad |
no more plastic straws filling the landfills, these are old style cardboard |
still drizzly cold and windy |
we could really hear the wind now |

Where have we been this Summer ?
I guess you are used to cold temperatures, do not know if I would have it in me but at least it will soon warm up though I have no idea how warm it gets in Canada.
ReplyDeleteThat restaurant seems to have delicious food, quite eye catching colors in the salad. Keep warm.
We lived in these cold winters for 50 years or so , thats why we full-time and can head south in the winter. Summer temps can be be be in the 80's, 90s' and even a few days 100 or so, should soon be in the 70's and will be nice.
DeleteThey are famous for their rotisserie chicken bu have expanded, I did love this salad a nice healthy change.
We warm inside no problem.
Your grandson has a blog? I wonder where he got that idea from? :c)
ReplyDeleteLOL . yes I wonder, he has read ours for quite a while a likes the idea.
DeleteYour salad looks great! Maybe Dave will add some salad ideas to his blog!!!
ReplyDeleteTook the top of the Jeep today in anticipation of Summer - and it's raining ... I should follow your advice and keep a closer eye on the weather!
This salad was excellent, Never sure what Dave will come up with always a character though. That like you wash your car it will rain,, summer will be there a lot sooner than here, enjoy the nicer weather though.
DeleteYes it is still very cold for this time of year. At least you are warm. Always nice to try a new meal at a restaurant. Thing is we always have the same favourite over and nice. Time for a change. Nice blog and very well done for a thirteen year old. Interesting how he is into food as you are. It would be nice if he showed us what that science project was.
ReplyDeleteIt is cold but will soon get nicer, right? We are toasty warm so that is nt a problem. Pretty well all my family is into food one way or another, This salad wa excellent and so many interesting flavours in it. Maybe he will blog about his science project. Would be nice.
DeleteDave's blogging is really nice. Hi friend was dying haha and gulped that cold drink and kept saying but I'm fine. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThat is some wind you have going on there kind of like what we have been having.
Glad you enjoyed Dave's blog, and these guys can be real; characters and great tp experiment with food. The wind was really blowing very cold from the east.
DeleteOh wow those winds remind me of here! Boy that is cold. Your lunch looks awesome and good for you for trying something new! So Canada has no more plastic straws? I know CA is like that now. Welcome to the new grand baby of Dennis and Sandy..whoops Iposted this before reading the blog..next on my agenda!
ReplyDeleteYup it is cold every a few snow fluffies this morning too. Yes the family is growing all the time, nice to see. A lot of places now doing away with plastic straws, nice to see.
DeleteGreat job your grandson does on his blog! Hope he keeps it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks he did a great job and hope he keeps it up too.
DeleteIt was a nasty cold day but we had too much going on, good things, that it didn't even fizz on us. :) Those are good days!
ReplyDeleteVery cool that your grandson writes a blog. I'd be surprised if ours, Zach, doesn't do the same. He reads mine. Your salad looked good but I'm sure too hot for me! :)
Yes when you are too busy to worry about the cold weather it is a good thing. It is kinda cool, and he seems to enjoy doing it, at least he is having fun with it and experimenting with food.
DeleteThe salad was excellent and nt really hot (in my mind) sweet and tangy is more like it.
