Another mild night for sleeping and we slept well at 5 am 52 F and going to be a wonderful short travel day. Got my oatmeal and coffee intake, a bit of computing done then a few walkabouts this Flying J checking the store and all the trucks I enjoy watching. Walking into the Flying J at 6:30 can smell these amazing Cinnabons here baking and smell so wonderful, And I know Suzie loves these, So I picked up a 4 pack of mini ones to keep her happy , not bad price still warm and only $3:50 for 4 of them a nice treat. We hit the road about 8:30 this morning for a wonderful travel day, Nice and warm, sunshine and no wind or rain , perfect!
Not far down the road we crossed into Ohio. on I-70 a very rough road. |
these tiny Cinnabons are excellent for a nice morning snack |
Ran into some interesting skies along the way love the sun streaks |
We enjoyed a tasty light lunch then I went into town 3 minutes away to O'Reilly auto parts and bought a new battery cable end for 5 bucks. Back home cleaned up the battery terminals and wires. Installed the new terminal and all hooked up again, Yahoo the coach started and seems to be just fine. At least until till we get back home hopefully .

We had a mini rose bush I bought Suzie for Valentines day that we cannot take across the border so she gifted it to them, they have a house and can take it , thanks guys.

Where have we been this Winter?
A little engine oil on those posts will help a lot. Stop all that rust and carrion. Just a few drops and the engine vibration will spread it all around and stop all that nonsense in it's tracks.
ReplyDeleteSafe Travels,
Bob
Thats what I thought I did when I replace this battery a few years ago, guess, have already put some oil it the terminals so hopefully be good, These cables are 20 years old.
DeleteFran is in Wapa now! Her brother had surgery and should be discharged tomorrow. She'll take him back to Kettering after he's released. I'll have her keep an eye out for you! Enjoy your layover in Wapa!
ReplyDeleteWow a small world world hope here brother does well, and would be nice to meet Fran especially here. We leave here Wednesday morning. We always enjoy it here.
DeleteSure glad you were able to fix your battery!
ReplyDeleteIt was a pretty easy fix and nice that the timing worked our well on a short travel day.
DeleteWhen RVing it pays well to be reasonably tool handy doesn't it. My two hand tool boxes probably weigh as much as most all of my other stuff. But they have paid their way over the last twelve years on the road.
ReplyDeleteYes Barney my tool boxes are heavy as well, but like you they sure have paid there way over the years.
DeleteLooks like a really nice RV Park and full of travelers. Enjoy your stay. It is wonderful when you can fix most of your problems.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful park mostly families here for the weekend. It is nice to be handy.
DeleteYou will want to replace the other terminal before you depart next year.
ReplyDeleteActually we will be doing that shortly after we get home.
DeleteAlways a repair in the making. Glad you were able to get it fixed before getting stranded somewhere. Don't you just love that little battery switch??? Your chicken certainly looks better than mine!!
ReplyDeleteYes Nancy always something to fix and was nice it happened when and where it did. Sure do love that battery switch has saved us a few times over the years. Our chicken was very tasty thanks.
DeleteGlad the issue was easily fixed. You folks were certainly close behind. Enjoy your stay in Wapakoneta.
ReplyDeleteWe are glad too and happened at a good place and time. We were close playing leapfrog on our journey home.
DeleteYou about have your trip home in the bag.
ReplyDeletePretty well Larry, 315 miles to go on Wednesday.
DeleteNot too far behind us.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the park.
Travel safe.
Not far at all we will enjoy it here for a few more days.
DeleteThat was a short travel day. Good job on finding the cause of the RV issues. Guess you might have to check those batteries more often. 20 year old cables, amazing. Never knew about adding oil to them.
ReplyDeleteI check the batteries all the time and knew they were getting corroded, was going to cleaned them here, but the rough road finished that one off. A bit of oil or even vaseline will help protect them from corrosion.
DeleteKilling me with the cinnabon! YUM! Your chicken looks so delicious! What a treat to make new friends and know that Suzie's rose will have an awesome new home! Nice sunset pic!
ReplyDeleteLOL it was tiny cinnabon so no carbs or calories right? . Chicken was awesome thanks. Suzie enjoyed her min roses for a couple of months time to share with other people.
