Waking up to another cool morning 32F (0C) at 5 am. Got some computing done and coffees consumed watching a very nice sunrise outside our dining room window. Because it is not going to be a great weather day we put a roast beef in our slow cooker and let it just go all day long on low. Making our house smell wonderful.

the sun is beginning to rise |
|
getting better |

here it is |
As the sun came up I went for a nice walkabout before it got too windy, Got a mile in and back home again. Getting windier and colder, not much outside fun today that's for sure An East wind on our patio side with gusts to 30 MPH. Supposed to have some rain showers later and cloudy all day. Glad we got to soak up some sunshine yesterday.

then the color went away |

by one of the cabins I noticed this mourning dove on a nest too cool |
Blog issues
I have been having issues with spam comments coming in for moderation, way too many emails, they never got posted but still annoying. So I thought I would go in my settings and clean them all up, I have stopped the emails. But the spam folder was getting pretty full. Pretty easy to do right? So I thought I would delete all the spam comments. Then I went back on my blog and was sure I had some comments from last night and early this morning. What the heck!!!! Here I had deleted the last 100 comments from the previous week. Oh no!!!! What have I done??? I treasure all my comments from our readers and reply to everyone of them. Try as I might I cannot get them back they are gone into cyber space.. Think maybe I need to just leave my settings alone from now on.
Oh well think maybe I will just stick to posting my blog and cooking I seem to have pretty good luck with that. We enjoyed a tasty lunch , more ham bean soup then I took a nice drive to Forest looking for a couple of things. Got what I wanted and back home again to relax inside enjoying our page turners. Smelling the roast cook and making us hungry. Rained most of the afternoon and the temperature really warmed up to 40F (4C) though the weather network said 46F, not here thats' for sure. I did get out for a bit took a few wet pictures and back inside to warm up again
While reading this afternoon and our roast cooking away I decided this would be a good day to make some Broccoli Tots a recipe I got from Shirley last winter after a tasty treat for happy hour. For this recipe you can click
HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar.

For our roast beef tonight we like to make some Yorkshire Pudding and this mix works wonderful quick and easy, Only on Canada we have found it, though too bad, we stock up for the winter with these mixes.

our roast beef cooking nicely in our slow cooker |
|
Yorkshire pudding is done and we are ready to eat |
|
this sure was tasty with a bit of gravy some cottage cheese on our salad for a treat
and the broccoli tots |
|
almost forgot the carrots but we enjoyed them too |
This sure was a very tasty meal we both enjoyed . I do love my beef but beef does not love me. So a Pepcid AC was needed to help my tummy. We did enjoy it though at the time.
No visible sunset tonight and cooling down rapidly, soon back to freezing again. Maybe will warm up again in the next few days, but won't hold my breath. Time to become a couch potato.
Thanks for stopping by and hope I don't screw up your comments anymore.

Sorry you lost all those comments. I lost several years of comments when I switched away from Google plus. I can smell that roast clear out here. Yum
ReplyDeleteThese things can and do happen, We do enjoy reading comments from our readings sad that they went away. The roast smelt and tasted delicious.
DeleteI am one of those that got clobbered in your cleanup, but it was worth it! Keep it clean!
ReplyDeleteThe broccoli tots look delish! Thanks for sharing Sheri's idea. Will be on our menu soon ...
Yeah sorry about that Jeff. Don't want to keep it that clean.
DeleteThe tots are very tasty worth taste test for sure.
Cow fat and my tummy are bitter enemies. So I tend to skip any beef that is not extremely lean.
ReplyDeleteAny beef seems to bother my tummy, so we rarely eat it. Chicken, fish and pork don't bother me at all. I and best to stick with that.
DeleteGoing to have to try the tater tot’s those sound great yes the weather wasn’t the best and spring will soon be here I too have gotten into the settings in my blog and regretted that I ever wandered into those unknown waters enjoy reading your blog all the best
ReplyDeleteThe broccoli tots are very tasty. a nice treat on a cooler day. Thanks for reading along with us, yes best to stay out of those unknown waters. Spring/summer will soon be here right?

DeleteBeautiful sunrise pictures. That dove looks very comfortable in her nest. I'm sorry you lost your comments as a fellow blogger I know how valuable they are to us.
ReplyDeleteI could almost smell your roast beef cooking. As usual your dinner looks delicious.
Thanks M's. B. She does look very comfortable there. Deleting these comments was very frustrating to say the least. The roast smelled wonderful and tasted delicious.
DeleteI have a recipe for Yorkshire pudding but have not yet tried to make them. I'm not much of a beef person and tonight I had a bad cut of it it's sitting in my stomach like a rock. Winds were the same here but no rain just cloudy
ReplyDeleteI have had bd cuts of beef they are not fun. The Yorkshire pudding is a nice treat easy to make but I just use the mix for a small batch.
DeleteToo bad about the comments. We love roast beef, so glad that it doesn't bother us.
ReplyDeleteI guess I goofed somehow. We love roast beef as well but it just does not like me. :<(.
DeleteBeautiful sunrise George! So sorry about your comments I know I like to go back sometimes and look at mine :) I have found that chopping the tots is very tedious to get them small, but they looked delicious to me..not always pretty but always tasty! Don't know if you have a small food chopper or processor we just recently bought one and what a difference in chopping the tots! I paid 20.00 for mine at wlamart as didn't want anything to take up much room, just a thought. That roast beef and sides looks absolutely delicious! YUM!
ReplyDeleteAt least I did not loose all my comments just some recent ones. I have a small food processor will try that next time. They sure are tasty thanks for the recipe. The roast beef was excellent thanks really enjoyed it until later.
DeleteModerating comments one at a time is the only way you can Safely clean them out.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the warmer weather.
Nice looking dinner.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
I was getting 15 or more emails a day to moderate on old postings. I have stopped those emails and I just wanted to rid my spam folder of over 1,000, spam comments but I happened to delete the wrong folder. Warmer will weather soon be here.
DeleteThat is one fine looking meal you whipped. I hate when I delete the wrong thing.
