Amazing sunrise and some more excellent weather. All the Doc's tests came back with flying colors too !

Where are we today ?

What a way to begin the day with a beautiful sunrise right outside our kitchen window. Love the sunrises here.
After some computing and coffees about 7 am just headed out for a walkabout town get in a couple miles while it is so quiet still and cool, people just beginning to head off to work.
Stopped by Pettigrew's garage chat with guys a few minutes and arrange to have a repair on our car Thursday morning.
Home to work on some homemade chicken noodle soup. I had a bunch of bones in the freezer taking up space and had a craving for some more soup. Ran a few errands while it was simmering away and again home to finish it up and enjoy some for lunch.
Love soup for lunch
Now to relax a bit and enjoy some afternoon reading in the shade for a while. But I was interrupted by the call of the pool (it was lonely) I was willing to keep it company for a while. Such a refreshing place to hang out on another hot day.
so refreshing and quiet here
Then at 2 pm headed to New Hamburg to pick up a prescription for our Shingles shot. Thought it was a good idea seeing as all of our parents have had shingles, some twice and if you know the drill they can be very painful. Right away to see out Doc in Stratford to get that done and while there she took a biopsy from each of us to check some moles on our backs. Better safe than sorry. Nice that our health care is paid for (except for the shingles vaccine). Also got the results of all out tests done earlier, looks like we are good to go. Healthier than I think is possible for the age I am. Just need to hear about the moles biopsy.
Back home just before 5 o'clock, have this bunny just sitting there, not sure what he was waiting for, but if he is there long enough we could be having rabbit stew.
Bunny took off right away so I grilled a couple Turkey Burgers on an english muffin and a too large green salad for supper. Maybe set the leftover salad out to fatten up the bunnies?
love these Turkey burgers
Any who that was our our fun day in the sun and taking care of the doc while we were at it. Looks like more hot weather in the forecast, but no problem for us we have shade and the pool right here. No Air conditioning unless we fire up our genny, but probably not, we can usually manage.
Glad that ya'll stopped by and want to also thank everyone that wished us a Happy Anniversary yesterday, we have had an amazing 23 years so far and looking forward to many, many more with Suzie by my side just cruising on down the road.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this summer

  2. I had to pay for my shingles shot too. Cost about 400 dollars but sure is worth it to avoid the shingles.

    1. That's what we paid as well for the 2 of us, the last thing we want is to suffer with shingles like our parents did. It will not guarantee we don't get them but if we do they will be much less severe.

    1. Love the early morning quiet times, and watching the day begin.
I can keep the pool company especially with this hot weather, no problem

  4. I found that the Shingles shot was cheaper at Costco than our local pharmacy. We don't need a doctor visit to get one.

    1. I could have got the Shingles vaccine at Costco , but an hour roundtrip not too handy. Had to go to the doc anyway for the biopsy so not a problem and we don't pay for those visits here anyway.

  5. Nothing you can do but help make the pool not too lonely by jumping in and visiting. I bet it sure felt good too.

  9. Keep cooking soup like that and you'll never have health issues! Best to you both for many more happy years if travel. Cheers, from cold and wet Vancouver, BC.

    1. Thanks Peter, you need some homemade soup out there, just because of the weather. I make it because I love it and can eat it in any weather, even the 103f today.
