Moving the park model home, trip to Stratford, computer issue resolved and a nice fall day.

Where are we today?

This is fall weather but really not too bad yet. Overcast and rainy a bit and not too cold. Hey that's wonderful, So I need a light jacket and long pants, we can do that.
My first walkabout noticed the truck coming into the park at 7:35 am gonna take Bob and Mary's  park model trailer out today. They took the Florida room yesterday. So I wandered over to check out the process. It was ready to go. Back the truck in hook up the trailer and away they went. A 12 ft by 40 ft  park model and they passed through the gate at 8 am ! 25 minutes they are not going too far about an hour and will probably have it set up today too.
Hooking up the trailer
off the lot
around the corner
just enough room
and out the gate
a nice light rainbow for the departure
Suzie has a doctor's appointment in Stratford for 11:30 this morning so we packed a lunch and headed on out. Only an hours drive through the back country roads. Dropped her off and I headed over to the Staples in town to pick up an external DVD burner for my Mac, $50 bucks. The internal one is giving me issues. This is a simple fix and less expensive than a repair, plus Suzie can use it on her PC as well. I have a lot of years of photos that I want to back up on disk. While at Staples ran into Brian and his wife from Rock Glen (small world), Chatted with them for a bit, picked up Suzie at noon and we enjoyed our lunch and shared an order of fries from Mc D's. (her  request).
On the drive home a local farmer had pumpkins for sale, So we stopped in and picked up 7 small ones for our Grands to carve if they like next weekend for our Canadian Thanksgiving. (Yup we have 7 grands now!)
lots to choose from
we have enough now
Home before 2pm and  checked out the new DVD burner and works wonderful. I will put it to work even more over the next few days. Want to burn a few hundred thousand photos to disc before purging from my hard drive. They are already on my back up drive, but ya k now that can fail too.
Then Gerry and Tucker stopped by  (doggie fix for Suzie) then Joe and Choco dropped in too, so we had a nice Happy 1/2 hour  but by then it was getting chilly.
Tucker got a treat
Joe, Choco and Tucker
So inside to prep our salad.  Fire up our Weber Q to grill a couple turkey garlic sausage that we love, so lean and healthy and do get our garlic sausage fix too.
really love these Turkey Garlic sausage
Sure was tasty and healthy too
That was it for another productive day, enjoying the good life and wrapping up things before our southern migration. To chilly and damp to sit out after supper, so inside for the night. Read a bit and maybe a tv show/movie before hitting the sack.
Glad that y'all stopped by and hope you had a wonderful day as well.

Checking our a few things, and computer backups, great stuff for a rainy fall day.

Where are we today?

Hey it rained mostly all night and quite a bit today as well. But we had stuff to do. First thing a work crew came in to move a trailer that was sold. Bob and Mary's. Someone bought the trailer and are moving it somewhere else. We were here when it came in 6 years ago, and Mary was so excited. But  now as age takes its toll time for them to move on, A new owner for their wonderful home. They are still in good health, just time for a change.
their park model getting ready to go
The company doing it are pros. Today they are taking the Florida room and getting the trailer ready to go tomorrow. It is 12 ft wide and 40 ft long.
love the machines they have
trailer raised and tire pressure pumped up
there goes the Florida room
In between the rain drops I managed to spend a couple hours re arranging one compartment and checking again for a possible water leak. The only place it could be and not there. ?? Think it happens when we fill our fresh water tank full for dry camping, maybe fill it less from now on and see how it goes.
Then I worked on my Macbook Pro retrieving some photo files and burning to DVD's. It is a slow process but we do have the time.
Soon time to whip up super, tonight a couple haddock filets pan fried in olive oil with fish crisp to add to our salad. Sure was very tasty.
yum
The fall weather is here but at least not too cold yet, and even got a lot of outside things done between rain drops. Soon we be on the road again!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Just more wonderful fall weather and where did the day go?

Where are we today ?
clic in a pic to enlarge it
Well heck this weather is remaining awesome. Nights into the 50's f and day times into the high 70's f and sunny whats not to like about that? A nice early morning walkabout and decided at 7 am a prefect day to wash our coach. Was kinda dirty. But only takes about 30 minutes now because I take care of it and is well waxed.
Then outside about 8 am Tucker and his Dad dropped by for a Suzie fix. What a nice way to start the day.
Tucker fix for Suzie
Then about 9 am Gerry and I headed into Grand Bend to look for a few parts for their trailer (no luck there) then the "No frills" grocery store to pick up a couple Turkeys on sale only .97 cents a lb. Good deal here. They wanted one and we needed one for our Canadian Thanksgiving dinner with my kids and grands for the Canadian Thanksgiving in October.
After lunch just puttered around for a bit then a nice workout in the fitness centre here. Back home I find out we have been invited to Paul and Judy's for "Happy Hour" Well heck we can't miss an invite to Happy hour  so grabbed our chairs and beverage and headed on over.
Always nice to share opinions and solve the world problems and then head on home to whip up supper.
just the  four of us being Happy
Supper tonight is a couple fish burgers that we picked up on special the other day. So made some tarter sauce and grilled a couple white corn cobs to enjoy some fish burgers and they were actually very tasty. On an English Muffin, with a processed cheese slice and chopped lettuce just like Mc Donald's  and the same that I served in my restaurant many years ago.
burgers and corn done in the grill mat
what a very tasty meal, sure beats
eating out
And again enjoying a nice relaxing evening outside. So peaceful here at this time of year with an almost empty campground. Love the spring and fall here.
Blog done and gonna read out here for a while yet, until it gets to chilly for my bare legs.
Glad that y'all dropped by again and thanks for all the wonderful comments on Suzie's birthday the other day.

Sunday was Suzie's Birthday as most of you know and she had many birthday wishes from friends and relatives. Phone calls from her Dad as well as one from both my daughter's that was very nice. But I think to top up a perfect day was this wonderful Facebook message that number two daughter posted on Facebook below for everyone to see. Suzie has been in her life since she was 5 years old, some 26 years now and we all have so many great memories of things we did together. I took the liberty of sharing it on today's posting. We are all so proud of the wonderful caring woman she has grown into. But still is an will always be my baby girl.

Happy Birthday to Sue Yates I hope you had a fabulous birthday. You are a very loved Step Mother and I am so glad to have you as part of my family each and every day. We share so many memories from such a young age. Until now as a Step Mother do I truly understand and appreciate the level of a Step Mother and what that entails. words cannot express. This post should include all of my parents because without their loving kind respect of one another would I even be able to post this and NOT HAVE TO WORRY at all that I am going to upset anyone. Everyone whom is in a separated / divorced situation should be like this. I am sooo blessed to have the 4 up- most awesome parents to raise and support me through my life journey! ❤️Thank you Ruth Rounds , Tom Rounds and George Yates.... and Happy Birthday Suzie xo
this is

Happy birthday Suzie, on a wonderful sunny busy day

Where are we today ?
clic on a pic to enlarge it
What a wonderful day to celebrate Suzie's birthday. Sun is shining and nice warm temperatures. What's not to love about that? She is reaching a landmark another new decade in  her life and we are so much in love and enjoying this lifestyle.
I let her sleep in and then by 9 am we off to the Pinery Fleamarket for a few things. We like to check this market out when we are in the area. Needed some pepperretes and one vendor then had found a stove top coffee perk that a friend of ours was looking for. A 9 cup Coleman blue one, brand new for ten bucks, it  was a good deal and exactly what he wanted great for dry camping.
Love the market and not too busy early this morning. We were in and out in 30 minutes.
lots of good stuff here at the Market
They also had yard sales going on too, just to add to more things to see.
Our Pepperette guy, extra hot for me
On the way back stopped at Juicy Fruit Orchards to see whats in season and got some good deals as usual.
love the white corn
Picked up 2 spaghetti squash, 1 Muskmelon and 6 cobs of fresh picked white corn for only $5.50 now that's a deal.
first crop honey crisp apples are amazing,
Home by 11:30 a quick lunch ham and bean soup and fresh fruit then off to the Parkhill Fall Fair.
yesterday's soup is so tasty
Now this is Suzie's birthday and she suggested that we go to the Fall fair to see the demolition derby! Because I enjoy them. Wow what a woman! Back in the 90's we went to quite a few, mainly because I had painted 3 demo cars for friends and were advertising for my Restaurant "Jessie's Diner" Its been along time and was fun, brought back memories.
wind turbines every where around here
Transformers for the wind turbines
Here we are at the fair. Headed right to the stands to get a good seat for the demo.
nice small town fair, not too busy
train rides for the kiddies
In the stands with good seats on a nice warm day about 80 f not too hot.
water down the playing field so the cars don't go too fast
first heat small cars
broken Rad, steam
winner of the first heat, drove right off. amazing how they keep driving
woman driving this car but the firefighters put out the fire
She got back in her car and fired it up came in second place.
this was the car on fire she drove away from the derby in second place
Now after 3 pm we had enough fun, time to head back home, more back roads.
love this place Hungry Hollow
Now home to relax in the shade and get some reading done
A nice Happy hour , just the 2 of us and some reading done, the time for me to whip up supper. Suzie's favorite, Fettucinni Alfredo with shrimp, fresh mushrooms, onions and garlic. To accompany a small salad, muskmelon , grapes and wine..
no fancy sauce today, this works
a couple minutes ready to add the sauce
Cheers , happy birthday Sweetie

of course lots leftovers
Then to relax after supper ( I even did the dishes too !) and a couple of phone calls to wish her a happy birthday. She had many Facebook messages, a few texts and a few neighbors wish her happy birthday as well.
I think she had a wonderful day, at least no complaints and she has been smiling all day long.
Thanks for stopping by again and hope your day was awesome too.
