Our Canadian Thanksgiving get together was today.

Where are we today ?

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends out there!

Pretty cold again this morning, lotsa frost. But we did have a nice sunny day and no wind so not too bad at all. A nice morning walkabout here enjoying the fresh fall air.
Was waiting for a phone call from a lady about picking up the cabinet in Waterloo. She finally did call and said they were unable to pick it up. Back to the drawing board. This is a free entertainment unit and display cabinet. We have a week to dispose if it.
frost in the corn field behind us
Morning mist on the river
we are snuggled in here
a heavy frost on our awning
Puttering around most of the morning then at noon head to Suzie's family Thanks giving get together about noon, have been doing this Sunday for the last 24 years we have been together. About 20 of us there altogether and I was "volunteered" to carve the two huge chickens (they prefer Chicken over Turkey). Could not say no as I was supplied an apron so I would not mess up a nice clean shirt, so no no excuse there. I am famous for ruining a new clean shirt.
That should get us started
More than enough food, chicken, mashed taters, gravy, homemade dressing, broccoli salad, Macaroni salad, a broccoli casserole,  quinoa salad, guacamole and crackers, fresh made diner rolls .
So everyone arrived and let the feats begin. No reason for anyone to go hungry here we barely made a dent is the amout of food here

Then of course desert, homemade pies, pumpkin, dutch apple, regular apple pie, bumbleberry pie and a cherry cheesecake. Also very tasty,
oh so good
Totally stuffed so we rolled out to the yard for fresh air and even a bit of exercise keeping the young ones occupied. Their three girls took turns on the two swings and we kept them busy, while others inside were chatting and playing lively card games.
We tired them out a bit then the twins and their sister all watched movies on their I-pad minis. All with head phones so nice a quiet, the big screen Tv had the football game on for those interested (no volume) and the rest sat around the tables and chatted.

Eventually time for us to head home, they were talking about eating again. We are on the See Food diet, ya know see food and eat it, really can't resist so the best for us to do that was leave. We had more than enough and a great afternoon visiting most of Suzie's family, still about a dozen immediate family missing, but 20 is a good turnout.
Got back to home in time to fire up the lawn mower and get a bit more lawn cut before the deck stopped again, about 20 minutes this time. Supposed to rain tomorrow so probably not get any done then. It takes a while to 5 acres at only 20 minutes, once or twice a day.
That was our busy day, its about 6:30 and getting quite cool, time to head in side for the evening to write this posting and read for a while, maybe even watch a bit of TV before calling it a night. Family, food, fresh air and exercise sure makes a wonderful day.
Thanks for the visit and hope you enjoyed your Sunday or Canadian Thanksgiving Celebrations.
We get to celebrate another Thanksgiving feast wherever we end up in the USA in November a real bonus about being snowbirds.
