Where are we today ?
Very warm overnight, windows open and in the low 70's today but was overcast and drizzly. That we can handle, no problem its just the cold we don't like at all.Early morning trip downtown passed a couple cowgirls? Riding down the street, right past our rv, not something you see everyday in the city, but can be very common in small towns and the southwestern states.
another reason we love hanging out here in Plattsville |
Then back home for a late lunch, and off to New Hamburg to stock up a few more items we need for the winter that we cannot purchase in the USA.
Next wrote up the 5 Christmas Cards and 2 birthday cards for our grandchildren, easy shopping for them now they really like cash, so that they can do their own shopping. Works for us. They have learned to save it up and buy their own clothes, video games, I pads etc....
Now because it is so mild out we can enjoy our e readers outside for a while, under our awning while the rain just comes on down, no problem.
Then time to prep supper.Tonight a I made a couple turkey kabobs, acorn squash on the grill in foil and another tasty salad. So nice to relax outside reading while our Weber Q does all the cooking for me, low and slow. Working on using up some of the food we have in the freezer.
All was done in no time especially while enjoying a good book.
yep it was tasty |
Thanks for stopping by again and hope you had a wonderful warm day as well.

Boy is that Kobo clear. Paul is still debating about buying one. Maybe he will make a decision by Christmas. That would make shopping for him much easier.
ReplyDeleteI do like my Kobo Aura especially the back light with adjustable brightness. And bought the leather case/ cover on e bay for only $9.95 .
DeleteI'm glad you turned us on to the Weber. Tonight we had grilled chicken, potatoes, carrots and onions. So good! What brand coffee do you use? Does it really taste better because it's restaurant quality?
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoy your weber it just does a great job.
DeleteThis is a Sunspun Columbian Coffee that we have used for many years and enjoy it. One year we ran out and tried various other coffees did not like then at all. Nice thing is they are individual vacuum sealed packages so always fresh.
When we bump into each other, guess you have to offer me a cup of coffee.
DeleteWe can do that, no problem
DeleteCash is so much easier than gifts. You know they won't need the receipt to return it.
ReplyDeleteYes it sure is.
DeleteHaving never snowbirded, what other items are on your list of products you can't get stateside?
ReplyDeleteOur Swiss Chalet marinades, sauce and dips, extra old Canadian cheddar cheese, extra hot pepperettes, Garlic farmers sausage we like, English crumpets, malt bread, my MSM powder for joint pain from health food store, and DAD's Oatmeal cookies.
DeleteThat must be some special coffee.
ReplyDeleteIt is one we both enjoy and is always fresh.
DeleteWe rarely use winter squash but I may have to give this a try.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy it and very cheap when in season too.
DeleteWe're migrating towards cash for our older grandkids, it get so hard to figure out what they like and what is "in". I guess we're old fogies because we don't know. ;c)
ReplyDeleteThat why we do it too, found gift certificates did not work well either.
DeleteI do like the idea of vacuum sealed coffee pouches. They don't take much room either.
ReplyDeleteThat is another thing we like about them and always fresh for each pot of coffee.
