Where are we today ?
Last night ofter posting we went to the arena in town for 8 pm to watch Grandson number one in his first exhibition hockey game. These are all 10 - 12 year olds and play some pretty good hockey. Then kind of hockey we enjoy.heading out the the ice |
This morning it's cooling down again and a bit drizzly, but not problem here. We have things to do. 1st off a run out around the country side for a couple hours to pick up a few last minute items for ma. Back home for an early lunch then off to Waterloo to do a final cleaning of Ma's house. Finish off wiping things down, spot clean the carpet in the spare bedroom, and while Suzie mopped the kitchen and two bathroom floors I cleaned up all the hardwood floors. Looks and smells wonderful now. Just one piece of furniture to pick up next week no problem closes October 31st.
Leaving the house we stopped and picked up some ink cartridges for Ma's printer so she will have them on hand and stopped by for a nice visit. Then back home here about 3 pm, relax for a bit and get some reading enjoyment in for a while.
Left a message with daughter number 2 to see it we could get together for a bit to have an early celebration for grandson number ones birthday. (got these numbers straight?) His birthday is in November (11 years old) after we are gone so every year we get together before we head south. The first year we did this he made a comment see you Grandad and Gramma after Christmas when the snow is gone, we will never forget that.
For supper we decided to bring in take out. Some really excellent pizza and wings that his grandmother made up for us in her restaurant. I know the pizza is good here because I developed them many years ago (in another life) when I first had my restaurant and we were once upon a time married to each other. So we picked up our take out here at Kobbler's 11 in Ayr Ontario then dropped by for a nice feast and a small early birthday celebration with the boys and my daughter. Had a wonderful visit.
this is where we picked up supper |
she is busy making out great pizza's |
Heading over to her house we drove into a beautiful sunset on the back roads.
Now here you have it Grandson number 1, daughter number 2 and grandson number 4 after a tasty supper and a nice visit.
Another busy fun productive day we had, cooler weather but we soon on the road again to get away from this soon to be very cold climate.
Glad you dropped by again to see us, hope you have a nice weekend coming up. I know we will.

ReplyDeleteonly 6 days left can hardly wait.
DeleteWhat a great idea to get together for a early celebration before you hit the road.
ReplyDeleteCute photo of Grandson number 1, daughter number 2 and grandson number 4....I think I got all those numbers right.
A couple more yet before we go.
Deleteyou have the numbers right
Well, you certainly know where to go for good pizza. Nice to see everyone on good terms as well. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe are all doing great, yes the pizza was awesome of course.
DeleteThe time is close. Looks like you're getting ready to roll and need to get those last little hugs until next spring.
ReplyDeleteThats what we are doing wrapping up the loose ends.
DeleteAlways nice spending as much time with family as you can when you're in town as it is always a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteYou are really making us jealous now that you have less days than we have weeks before heading south.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Just need to fire things up and hit the road, don't want to hang out here waiting for the colder weather.
DeleteYou need to get numbered shirts for your grandkids so you (and we) can keep them straight! :cD
ReplyDeleteHey I like you thoughts, good idea.
DeleteGood luck with the balance of your preparations. The sunny southern US weather is calling, I see.
ReplyDeleteYes it is calling us we will soon be there too, or at least somewhere other than here.
