Where are we today ?
Another great nights sleep (about 7c (42f) overnight and still pretty cool today, not much sun all day, may have gotten to 11c (52f), But we just add layers and had no rain so not something we could not deal with. No wind either is a good thing.
A wonderful sunrise this morning promises a pretty nice day.
Shortly before 10 am Rob, Pat, Lady Girl, Suzie and I headed off to explore the Pinery Flea Market in Grand Bend. This will be our last visit until next year. Next weekend is their grand finale for the year, but we will not be here.Because it was so cool and overcast, today not a lot of vendors and people here but we still enjoy the walkabouts. Can you blame them for not being here so cold to stand in the shade with damp cold weather.
nice entrance |
a couple rows no vendors |
this old truck at the entrances and it still runs |
how about an old phone booth ? |
no Lady Girl sorry |
Back home in time for lunch. Then a walkabout and I had a plan. Good friend of ours picked up nice heavy piece of aluminum for me to cut out some braces for the macraméd lawn chairs I got from Ma's place. She made them many years ago and are the lawn chairs that we love. Just like new they are. Will finish them tomorrow and take some pics then.
While I did this Suzie helped Rob and Pat with some computer stuff , then I wandered down to the gym for a workout. Then back to enjoy a bit of a "Happy (social) hour " with them before time to fire up our Weber Q. Tonight grill a chicken breast for supper and a boneless one for Suzie's lunches. Added to the grill a Pepper (Acorn) Squash with some Maple syrup in it.
And just added a tasty salad to round out a very nice supper.
yep did the trick again |
Thanks for taking the time to stop on by and hope you enjoyed your fall day too.

It looks like most of the flea markets in the north are closing up for another year. The one in our hometown was having its last on the end of September. Such goes another year.
ReplyDeleteThats a sure sign that we will be heading south real soon.
DeleteDefinitely time to think about moving further south. Everything is starting to shut down. Glad you haven't had the snow yet. Isn't it fun when the pups just love you death because you smell so good?
ReplyDeleteSoon we will be on the road again for southern climates.
DeleteI'm wondering how Marsha's comment was dated Oct 17, 2009.
ReplyDeleteNever thought about using maple syrup on squash.
Yeah I wondered about that as well. Not sure how it happened.
DeleteWe have some so lets try it, tastes excellent.
We have an old oak phone booth just like the one you posted. It even has the coin phone in it. However, it's in our son's garage but maybe we'll move it to the cabin. At least now that you've posted it, it gives us something to think about.
ReplyDeleteAnother project for you now.
DeleteAt this time last year we were still walking around in shorts and t-shirts. On the Weather Channel yesterday they mentioned we were already into a Polar Vortex which is why it is so cold already.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
We make the best of it no matter what, not much we can do about it.
DeleteHope the lawn chair project works out.
ReplyDeleteIt did work out very well.
DeleteKids of today wouldn't even know what a phone booth is, and if they encountered one, they'd get frustrated trying to figure out how to text on that pay phone... :cD
ReplyDeleteHaha you are so right!
