Where are we today ?
Flying J Berkshire Ohio
Great nights sleep last night, but very cold this morning here in upstate New York. Heavy ice on the car windows and frost everywhere. Yep, time to get outta Dodge and head south. So just before 9 am hooked up the car and pulled out of Bill and Barb's (thanks for the great place and wonderful visit guys). We have to go through Buffalo New York and 9 am we will miss the morning rush hour. Smooth sailing all day today. Perfect warm, sunny day, no rain no traffic, no delays, no wind, does not get much better. Our goal is to get to some sunny warmer weather further south, so a couple of relatively long travel days we don't mind, to enjoy warmer sooner and longer. Gonna hang out in Unadilla Georgia for a week, gonna be on the 80's (yep we like that!) what's the hurry? Liking this weather it's really good right now.
324 miles today |
Wonderful fall colors along the way |
cruising the interstate to make some miles today |
all settled in for the night |
Now that we are here and relaxed just gonna whip up a bite to eat. A tasty salad leftover chicken that I steamed to warm it up an make moist, added to a tasty salad and we are back on track to our healthy eating again.
sure did the trick an feels great |
Thats all we did today and we both enjoyed it.
Thanks again for stopping on by.

ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect travel day.
DeleteAn awesome looking travel day, your sure giving me some hitch itch. Glad you found some warmer temps already. Looks like your route weather wise will be much better than last year. Bought gas here today in Calif for 3.10 a gallon.
ReplyDeleteWarmer is what we looking for. Thats a pretty good [rice for gas in California!
DeleteWe won't be high tailing it out of here until after the weekend and that even depends on the weather. It'll be a one night stop over before we hit the mountains. We'll be in search of that warm weather too. California here we come.
ReplyDeleteYep we heading to California taking the scenic warm route.
DeleteWelcome to Ohio. You just passed so close to where our house is in Canton, Ohio. Enjoy the warm weather.
ReplyDeleteWe was gonna stop by but knew you weren't home you beat us down south, see y'all in Arizona.
DeleteWhen pressed to find heat and better climes quickly, we'll pull a long day at the wheel too. It's often worth it. The warm temperatures made the long travel day worth it.
ReplyDeleteYes they do thats for sure.
DeleteWe love Flying J. We love the falling fuel prices even more!
ReplyDeleteFlying J works for us so handy.
Delete"Heavy ice on the car windows and frost everywhere" = YUCK !!
ReplyDeleteSure glad to hear the end of your day was much warmer than the start of your day !!
Yep we are too, love wearing shorts again.
DeleteAh yes, "back on track". I was wondering about those wings (etc) you were chowing down on yesterday. Can't have too much of that stuff. And live.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in the heat.
Its the wings and stuff not the hot sauce that's not good for you, was a very tasty treat.
DeleteCold front to arrive in Georgia Wed. evening. Week end temps in the lower 40's night time an' lower 60's day time. But that's in the Atlanta area. Blow yer horn when ya go by. Travel safe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Billy Bob, still better weather than we were having back home, we gonna be just south of you and Atlanta. We we blowin the horn.
DeleteIn looking at the weather forecast, looks like you are getting out of Dodge at just the right time. 76 here in East TN today, 63 on Thu. and 52 on Fri - then back to more normal temps. You pass pretty close to me if going down I-75.
ReplyDeleteNice here today, we at the Walmart for the night, just off 75 exit 81 south of Knoxville.
DeleteNow THAT is my kind of weather! Soak it up!
ReplyDeleteOurs too, we will.
DeleteIce on the windows?? Definitely time to head south. So enjoy the sunshine and the shorts and t-shirts.
ReplyDeleteWe will and we are enjoying this very much.
