A perfect 2nd Thanks giving meal and get together with my family

Where are we today ?

       Made it through all the food and family time yesterday and rested in the afternoon. But was uncomfortable, restless, loss of appetite, stomach pains, etc... and had trouble sleeping. When we left the hospital on Friday they advised I use extra strength Tylenol instead of the advil we had always used. When Suzie checked the adverse side effects of Tylenol and found to I had almost every one of them. So the more I took the worse I felt! So no more Tylenol for me. Starting to feel much better this morning already.

Still cold here this morning at 38F (3C). our Blue Flame heater keeps us quite comfortable inside so that is no problem.  Then because I could I got out for another drive around town taking a few pictures along the way. So nice to be able to get out and about, even got my winter coat out as well. Guess I better get used to wearing it.

    Back home the skies clouding over even more.  Has warmed up to 45 F by noon.

       Now we puttered around here for a bit relaxing. Until the first arrival shortly after 1 pm.

       As the kids arrived they moved around the house looks like they found lots to keep them occupied.

we got by with only one table 3 today, 2 could
 not make it, nice that we all got to sit at one table

       I had asked daughter # 2 to cook the thawed turkey I was supposed to do and she did but she went way overboard .

she also made roast beef as well as the turkey

this was my tasty meal light and just enough.

        Now there was 3 pumpkin pies, I apple pie and large bowl of truffle.

has been many years since I enjoyed that taste treat

      My oldest son in law also took a few pictures and sent them on to us so I could post them tonight as well.

     Now I really need to thanks my amazing kids for pulling together to make this one very successful Thanksgiving meal and family get together. They are really awesome and pulled through for me.

First Thanksgiving day Feast.

Where are we today ?

     Another pretty decent sleep last night slowly getting rested up,  Energy levels still down but feeling a bit better each day.  Got some cereal and coffee consumed , computing done , At 7 am it was 38F outside but sunny and less wind than yesterday, Making the day seem much nicer.
        Then I set to work making a  double batch of Puff Pastry Sausage rolls. for that recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog top right side bar.

      Wanting to get out and go for a short drive, I have been missing. Suzie allowed me to drive the car today, finally, 1st time since last Tuesday. And it felt good, I just cruised around Tavi car windows open enjoying the fresh air quiet time and local sites.
      Back home by 11:30 then soon time to head inside, I usually help a bit with the food prep but not this year, kinda feel lost, so relaxed chatting with a few relatives watching the activity  and they just keep arriving. By 1PM all 27 of them are here and with the food set out we all began the feast.

       There was 3 tables set up in the front room for all the kids. Making their own noise like kids do. Mind you the adults make enough noise as well.

     Then come the deserts 4 homemade pies by Stacey, 2 apple and 2 pumpkin, I had only a tase of Suzi'e apple pie and it was excellent. Plus there was tarts, cookies, fruit so much food. I had enough.

         Well by 3 pm I was uncomfortable and the loud noise was getting to me so I came home and to get away from temptation of eating more food,  to relax get rid of my headache.
         Watched a bit of Tv enjoyed a shot nap (something I never do).
         Any how that was our first Thanksgiving day feast with Suzie Family and tomorrow my family will be coming here to going us. Thanks to Ross and Roses' offer to have them come here. i will rest up tonight and ready for more fun and food tomorrow.

A busy cold Saturday and enjoyed a hockey game here right in town.Happy Thanks giving to our Canadian friends.

Where are we today ?

    I finally got a very good night's sleep at home in our own bed. Finally got to sleep at midnight and slept all the way until 6:30 am , feeling better by the day. We puttered around for while enjoyed quiet morning reading blogs, chatting and all the wonderful heartfelt comments enjoying our morning coffees. Then shortly after 9 am we headed into New Hamburg  first stop No frills for fresh Cranberries and oranges, Then Oak grove Cheese to cancel our winter cheese order, The Pharmacy and Sobeys for some puff pastry dough to make some sausage rolls for the 2 dinners. Next and last stop was the polling booth for Elections Canada to cast our early ballots and back home for a light tasty lunch.
     Then a nice walkabout the yard to check out the fall colors in the bush and they are coming along nicely.

          This afternoon I made a double batch of Cranberry orange sauce as here we have 2 Thanksgiving Meals one Sunday Suzie's Family and my family coming here on Monday, and I do love this cranberry orange sauce, for the recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar.

           Then at 3:10 pm Grandson #4 has a hockey game right here in Tavistock just down the road from here. What is nice that we are right here.

       Back to Ross and Roses' by 5 pm , had a nice FaceTime chat with my Brother Sister and the family on FaceTime for a few minutes then inside while dinner was whipped up Oh so tasty, pork tenderloin on their very large Weber, sauerkraut and a tasty Kale salad hit the spot tonight.

     Not long too cook and a tasty sauce right near the end, oh so perfect.

     That was our fun day feeling better as time goes by two more feasts then waiting to hear from the specialist in London, to find out where we go from here.
