Waterproof our awning and visit with Ma for a bit, another full day.

Where are we today ?
Plattsville Ontario
Still cooler but not too bad, great for sleeping at night. Up and raring to go at the crack of dawn. So computing, coffee's and a walkabout down by the river. Stop by the garage see what the local guys have to say then back to our coach.
after the heavy rain the other night
water level is really high, great for kayaking
Perfect day to waterproof our acrylic awning. 15 years old still in good shape but has a few water leaks. Only where we sit of course. I have had this silicone waterproofing for a while just waiting for the perfect day. And today is it.
this should do the trick
I am almost done, took one hour, to brush it on
That job done head into Kitchener meet up with Sis, Brother in law and Ma to iron out a few wrinkles she has encountered in her new home.  Few hours later we believe most of these issues are resolved or at least fixable. So back home by 5 o'clock, time for a cold one and fire up our Weber Q.
awning still looks good and should now be waterproof
lets se how this stuff works, reports will follow,
supposed to get rain the next few days
Did not take long to thaw our a couple small Mahi-Mahi (Dorado in Mexico) fillets and throw on the grill with Old Bay Spice and a fresh lemon slice.
Added the fish to another tasty filling salad, red leaf lettuce, avocado, grape tomatoes, cucumber, fresh mushrooms, dried cranberries, carrots, yellow pepper, sunflower seeds, flax seed, ripe olives with EVOO and balsamic vinegar dressing.
sure filled us up
Then before we know it, getting cooler outside and almost dark by8 pm, soon time to head inside.
Thanks once again for the visit and all the well wishes for ma. It is a big adjustment for her at  87 years old but we are sure things will work out and she (and her Cat Tigger) will enjoy it much more than being in her house by herself. Plus three meals a  day and two snacks, people to talk to and activities.

  1. We have been through that 'moving Seniors into better facilities' a couple times & it has always worked out for the best for all concerned.

    1. This is not our first experience and not the last, it is for the best especially since it was her choice.

  6. You're lucky it was her choice. I had to broach the subject with my Dad but I think he was waiting for me to say, it was time.
