Where are we today ?
Cold night last night and this morning, brrrr... At 5:25 this morning you can see the temps below. Either way you look at it it's cold!for our Canadian friends |
real temperature for our American friends. |
Then at 7:30 headed to the garage in town to chat with the guys for a bit then back home. A nice sunrise along the way taking the back roads into town.
Then after puttering around for a while and an early lunch I headed into Kitchener to get two new front tires for the car (our Towed) at Canadian Tire. We have Canadian Tire Money saved to purchase the two tires, just had to pay the tax and balancing. Not worn out quite yet but will be before spring, one are good for about three more years.
Got the new tires installed and then back home to mow a bit more lawn here. While I did that Suzie went to visit her Mom and Dad, to install antivirus software on his computer.
She got back in time for us to read outside for a bit, then I fired up our Weber Q to grill a couple turkey Kabobs, grill some leeks and a fresh tomato.
That was added to a small salad for a very tasty supper.

quick grilling on our Weber, low and slow |
Too cold to sit outside afterwards, so inside to read a bit more, post the blog and watch the tube for a while before calling it a night. Looks like another busy day again tomorrow.
And once again thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit. Only about 34 days before we hit the road migrating to warmer weather.

We used our Mr. Heater the same way this morning with our furnace...it was a bit cool here... Your towed is all set to roll now!
ReplyDeleteMr. Heater does the trick and does save a lot of propane.
DeleteGoing outside this morning it was cold. By lunch it was cool. By supper it was just right. Tomorrow is supposed to feel like summer again.
ReplyDeleteYou're making us jealous that you are so close to leaving. A bit over three months for us.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Just pack things up and hit the road.
DeleteIt is getting cold there. Here's hoping you don't get any of that white stuff before you start your migration.
ReplyDeleteThanks, we don't want to see that white stuff either.
DeleteYou guys are getting the cool weather! Our mornings are chilly but it warms up in the day.
ReplyDeleteToday will be a bit warmer.
DeleteFree. What a wonderful word! :c)
ReplyDeleteYes, yes free is good.
DeleteWhat does this mean... Canadian Tire Money. Does Canadian have another good idea that we don't?
ReplyDeleteSimilar to air miles, Every purchase we make with our Canadian Tire Mastercard we receive Points (or Canadian Tire Money) that we can spend at any Canadian Tire store, for any of their products, from food to clothes housewares, automotive etc... We collect well over $300.00 every year and it all gets spent for things that we use.
DeleteOh what a great idea. Now that is a nice chunk of change.
DeleteIt is very worthwhile for us. Hs pretty well paid for the tires on our Towed, plus many other things as well.
DeleteGotta love that "free" stuff. We put new tires on the truck this year and they definitely cost us more than tax and balancing. Definitely getting cold up your way. Will you guys have what I call an Indian Summer before you head out?
ReplyDeleteSmall tires on our car so not expensive.
ReplyDeleteIndian summer we hope, it is supposed to warm up for the next week or so.
I heard on the radio the other day that Canadian Tire was one of the first companies world wide to institute a "loyalty program" in this case their own brand of money and is now also one of the oldest companies to still be offering a "loyalty program". It started out doing this back in 1958. When they first implemented the program the payback was 5% now it is only 0.5%. It seems that Canadians either love it or hate it! Glad you were able to get a couple of tires out of saving it all this time.

The loyalty works for us even every dollar we spend anywhere in the world collects us Canadian Tire money, we do accumulate over $300.00 every year.
DeleteI'll bet you put on more miles on the car tires towing than driving.
ReplyDeleteDriving and towing are close to the same every year. About 8,000 miles driving and the same towing every year actually.
