Where are we today ?
Another wonderful cool night, great for sleeping. About 58f (14c) inside our coach at 6 am. A wonderful sunrise and gonna warm up a little later almost like Arizona.lovely sunrise this morning, from our patio |
into town, noticed the geese heading south, we will soon be following them |
morning sun coming into town |
Next checked the brake problem on her car. Hmm, no brakes. A broken brake line and no brakes at all. So called the CAA and had it towed down the road to the Mufflerman (they do brakes too). They checked things out and can have that fixed and rusted out lower control arms for her steering by tomorrow. Her car is a 1995 Pontiac and still in good shape but does need some repairs if she wants to keep driving it.
Then over to the house where brother, his wife and sis and her husband are packing up stuff they want. Purging the house is a chore but soon will be done mostly by the end of the week.
We all headed back to ma's and a couple pics below of where she is now living. A very nice retirement residence, that has great service, good meals and lots of activities for her.
this be their excursion bus |
a nice one level home for her |
very nice bungalow that she lived in for about 20 years |
really enjoying these turkey burgers |
We are making progress here, "one day at a time" and soon ma will be all settled and enjoying her new home. Just a few wrinkles to iron out in the process.
Hope you had a great day too and thanks for taking the time to stop on by.

Nice to see everything is going as planned. I am sure your mother will love the retirement living. Kevin's Mom lives in one as well. She doesn't normally have meals there though, as she usually cooks her own in her kitchen but it is nice to have that opportunity available if she wants it.
ReplyDeleteWhen are you planning to start your trip south?

Ma did not cook anymore so was not eating much, this works much better for her.
Delete38 days Oct 23rd we hit the road.
Hopefully your Ma appreciates everything all of you are doing to make her move more comfortable.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
She really does appreciate it.
DeleteGood on you for looking after the much needed auto repairs. Busyntime with closing the sale and clearing out mom's home.
ReplyDeleteNo problem here everything is just coming together, one day at a time.
DeleteI'm so excited for you with your countdown coming close! The cool weather (in my opinion) is only good for sleeping. It is getting harder and harder to crawl out of the warm covers in the early morning for work. Glad your Mom is getting more settled as the days go on.
ReplyDeleteWe excited too, it is cool but could always be worse.
DeleteLooks like you'll have mom all set before you head south.
ReplyDeleteLarry thats the plan.
DeleteI bet mom is thrilled that you two are there to help her with all the moving and repairs. So happy for her that she is in a wonderful caring place.
ReplyDeleteWe are glad that we are able to get this done for her too.
DeleteCute house. Looks easy to work on. That seems to be the thought uppermost in my mind most times when I see a place.
ReplyDeleteGood of you to go and sort out all her little media issues. It's usually the "kids" who can handle the technology better than the older generation.
I is the perfect house open concept bungalow, 2 bedroom, 1 and 1/2 bath rooms , main floor laundry, sunroom and backs on green space. Maintenance free outside as well.
DeleteSpinach and cranberries, never would have thought of that.
ReplyDeleteactually very tasty, burgers made at Hayter turkey farms here in Ontario.
DeleteYour ma is very blessed to have family to take care of her like you and Suzie have done!
ReplyDeleteWe are doing what we can while we are here.
