Where are we today ?
Early morning as usual and quite cool 15c (about 55f). Cooler than we like and not a very warm sunny day. But heck guess I can put on long pants a T-shirt and socks to take care of that. Today we plan to go nowhere! Yippee.
Hang out here in town, two blocks away to the church and check out their bake and produce sale, and picked up some fresh veggies, chat with a few people there and share a free coffee and small cinnamon bun too.
Back home I was on a mission to cut down the shoe rack to fit in Ma's closet at her new place. About 2 inches too wide. So my newly acquired jig saw, from ma's workbench did the trick.
|
will now fit in her closet |
Next project was to retrofit a gas can for our generator. I have an extra gas cap, a fuel line and vent hooked it all up and works like a charm!

Genny fired right up and I ran it under load for almost an hour no problem. Think we now have decent inexpensive fix for our fuel problem. Yahoo!!!
|
fuel tank in separate compartment works awesome |
|
can even close the doors, no problem |
While doing this Suzie got her doggie fix watching Molly and Buddy play.
|
Molly on the right and her puppy on the left |
|
time to Brush us now Suzie |
|
and brushing she did. look at the huge bag of fur! |

|
Buddy looks good when he is brushed |
|
reading and relaxing |
Then time for me to hop on the mower for a bit a get some grass mowed, just a bit but a nice diversion.
Next fire up our Weber Q grill some chicken legs and thighs, add to another tasty salad for a yummy supper. More leftovers for lunches or whatever.
|
love our chicken on the Q and a fresh salad. |
|
the dogs wait patiently for a run after supper, then their meal too |
We did have a pretty nice day all to ourselves, but a bit cooler than we like. Could be much worse though. Assume Ma is doing well have not heard from her today, and that's a good thing, She will be adjusting to her new lifestyle.
Thanks for taking the time to check us and hope and hope you enjoyed your day too.

When we moved my Dad into a senior living complex he ended up having so much fun. He loved all the games and of course, all the attention he got from the women. Hope your Mom has that kind of experience.
ReplyDeleteThat's what we are hoping too, but think it will take her time to adjust.
DeleteNice fix for the generator fuel situation. Sure better than trying to figure out what's going on in the gas tank.
ReplyDeleteWorks good and much less expensive too.
DeleteI think we will just rename you Mr. Mix it, and Suzie, Ms Groomer.
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, there ya go, we both enjoy doing these things.
Deleteah great dogs! that'sa lot of fur! I bet someone could make a rug out of that! trying to get caught up and I have and sure enough ... you're still having fun no matter what! ;)
ReplyDeleteAlways have fun, doing whatever we need to do.
DeleteGlad you got your generator fixed. I'm sure you'll be using that plenty on your winter trips.
ReplyDeleteThat is when we will need it, this winter.
DeleteBoy those dogs are sure going to miss you both so much, especially Suzie with all the attention that she gives them. They look like wonderful dogs to have around.
ReplyDeletewww.travelwithkevinandruth.com
They are amazing dogs, very well behaved and they listen to you.
DeleteWe will miss them too.
Seems like you are a regular Mr. Fixit lately. Good to have the Genny working good...always need that!
ReplyDeleteDon't need the genny often, but when we need it, we need it.
DeleteYou'll be glad that genny is working o.k. once your down in the desert at the Q.
ReplyDeleteWe do like the convenience if needed and works great.
DeleteGenerator fuel lines seem to be a real problem, I like your work around fix. Much better than dropping the whole fuel tank at this time. Will you drop the tank and replace the line at some later date? Of course, you're in no rush now.
ReplyDeleteI love having a generator onboard, they are really handy when you need one. :c)
The fuel pump for the engine is the sam tank. If that needs to replaced we will fix both at the same time.
DeleteWe use our genset quite often to heat coffee or microwave a frozen dinner in a Walmart parking lot. It would be hard to imagine going without one. Good work-around fix on yours!
ReplyDeleteWe have a perk for coffee and use our oven to warm things up.
DeleteThe dogs look like they are about to eat each other in the first shot. I need to grill up some chicken as we haven't in a while.
ReplyDeleteWE do love our chicken on the Q. The dogs do looks pretty mean when playing.
DeleteProblem solved with the generator! Nice. You guys do use it and it will be handy again this winter. The cooler weather likely makes you wish you were soon heading south?
ReplyDeleteHeading south soon would be nice but, we will be leaving in 47 days..
DeleteWe had the furnace on this morning in Michigan. The leaves are turning.
ReplyDeleteIt's that time of year fall is in the air.
