Just another busy day getting things wrapped up for Ma.

Where are we today ?
Another wonderful cool night, great for sleeping. About 58f (14c) inside our coach at 6 am. A wonderful sunrise and gonna warm up a little later almost like Arizona.
lovely sunrise this morning,
from our patio
into town, noticed the geese heading south,
we will soon be following them
morning sun coming into town
We headed into Kitchener, shortly after 9 am, to visit Ma and get her phone system working again. Bell Canada screwed things up last week. Suzie and the assistant manager spent a few hours on the phone while I hooked up her new tv. She now has a 29 inch flat screen, replacing her 19 inch one that was too small for her room. Rogers cable was there to fix the feed issues, and that problem was resolved.
Next checked the brake problem on her car. Hmm, no brakes. A broken brake line and no brakes at all. So called the CAA and had it towed down the road to the Mufflerman (they do brakes too). They checked things out and can have that fixed and rusted out lower control arms for her steering by tomorrow. Her car is a 1995 Pontiac and still in good shape but does need some repairs if she wants to keep driving it.
Then over to the house where brother, his wife and sis and her husband are packing up stuff they want. Purging the house is a chore but soon will be done mostly by the end of the week.
We all headed back to ma's and a couple pics below of where she is now living. A very nice retirement residence, that has great service, good meals and lots of activities for her.
this be their excursion bus
a nice one level home for her
Things coming together at the house that now has been sold just a few more things to purge.
very nice bungalow that she lived in for about 20 years
Shortly after 4 o'clock we headed on back home. Fired up our Weber Q to grill a couple Turkey burgers with spinach and cranberries, add that to a very tasty salad and we are good for the night.
really enjoying these turkey burgers
After supper we were able to enjoy reading outside until about 7:45, then just getting too cold, so in we go to call it a night. Post the blog, read some more and watch the tube for a bit.
We are making progress here, "one day at a time" and soon ma will be all settled and enjoying her new home. Just a few wrinkles to iron out in the process.
Hope you had a great day too and thanks for taking the time to stop on by.

  1. Nice to see everything is going as planned. I am sure your mother will love the retirement living. Kevin's Mom lives in one as well. She doesn't normally have meals there though, as she usually cooks her own in her kitchen but it is nice to have that opportunity available if she wants it.

When are you planning to start your trip south?

  4. I'm so excited for you with your countdown coming close! The cool weather (in my opinion) is only good for sleeping. It is getting harder and harder to crawl out of the warm covers in the early morning for work. Glad your Mom is getting more settled as the days go on.

  7. Cute house. Looks easy to work on. That seems to be the thought uppermost in my mind most times when I see a place.
Good of you to go and sort out all her little media issues. It's usually the "kids" who can handle the technology better than the older generation.
