Coach serviced, new brakes and back to Camp awesome.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Had a wonderful sleep here last night at Pettigrew's garage (Camp Pettigrew). looked outside early this morning to see where we are camped, oh Yeah now I know. LOL reminds me of our travels in the winter sometime we stop for the night wherever, wake up in the morning look outside to see where we are. One thing we love about this lifestyle ever changing scenery.
here is where are this morning
Got the coffees and computing done, and at 7 am the garage opens so I did not want to go too far in case Dale needed me for something, levelling jacks or whatever. We use the jacks to raise the coach to put some secure jack stands before he begins work. First was the lube , oil and filter then he began on the left rear wheel brakes.  Looks in good shape but the brake pads are getting pretty worn, So he will lube the callipers, clean it up and install new brake pads and back together. One wheel done by 10:30 this morning, only 3 more to go.
2 old brake pads
one new brake pad
everything else is in good shape
jack stands in place
Dale hard at it
While waiting I decided to install the new base station  for our CB radio, pretty easy until I put it back together and shorted out a wire, OOpps. I blew a fuse. Check the line fuse ok, checked the fuse panel ok, as well the radio did not work now either,  My next place to check is behind the radio in the dash So I had to unload the cupboard I built for storage when I removed the old Tube tv Checked more wires and fuses , Hmm found  a fuse under the hood and got the Cb working but not the radio? Hmm Well Dale have finished the brakes on 3 wheels so too break to take a look. yahoo he found a loose wire. I fixed it and now the Radio and the CB work wonderful again.
pulled this cupoboard  out to access the radio wires
had to empty it first
CB and radio not working
can now access the wiring
Dale carried on with the brakes on the rest of the coach. Lubricated the callipers and installed new brake pads, pads were not finished yet but almost. May as well do it now while paying the labour.
When he went for lunch I whipped over to John's (Camp awesome) and mowed the lawn where we will be parking the coach when we leave here.

everything is coming together
he does know his stuff
and explains it all as he works
almost done
Dale was all done shortly after 4 pm. I took the coach for a test drive and pulled into Camp awesome and got set up. Suzie had taken her Dad to Stratford for some tests this afternoon.
We were both back here and set up by 5 pm. Relaxed for a bit, enjoying a short Happy hour then whipped up supper.
nice to be here again for a few days
early sunset behind us
Because of out late arrival here I baked and couple of breaded Ham and cheese (cordon Blue) chicken breasts in our propane oven. Perfect for a nice easy tasty meal. Added to our salad sure did the trick tonight.
this was  very tasty meal we both enjoyed.
Got things taken care care of our coach has new brakes,  and fully serviced , ready to hit the road. Only a another month to go and we are really getting anxious to hit the road again.
Thanks once again for checking us out and hope y'all had a great day as well.

  7. George, are you and Suzie going to take generally the same route this year or are you going to try a different route? Driving a different route could be more adventurous but would require more research.

    1. We have a few different places to explore this year like most years. And usually play things by ear and the weather. Never take the same route but still end up in southern Arizona desert that we love.

  10. Amazing how this brake pads wear down. That is a lovely cabinet that you built. Sorry you had to take it apart but good news that the problem was rectified easily.

  11. That is why i wanted them checked and replaced. The cabinet I made a few years ago, just had to empty it and slide it out,, a lot easier than removing to old tv.

  12. Always good to get the rig serviced and repaired before a long trip. We have new brakes and tires and just have to get the heat shield replaced (it fell off) and we will be on our way at the beginning of November. Looks like it is going to be Florida again this year. I am eager to go back to Arizona but M is electing for Florida. So we will see who wins!!
