Where are we today ?

Here we are back at Rock Glen again , a place we truly enjoy. Very warm overnight, windows open fantastic fan blowing and at 5 am still 68F (20C) outside. Think time to take our comforter off the bed., maybe. We did get some rain and for a few hours this morning and mostly rain ing off and on most of the day. So awning deployed and secured we are good, still 70F outside but overcast.I forgot to mention last night setting up our satellite dish was not getting a signal, so gave up and blamed it on the cloudy weather, plugged in our DVD player and watched a movie. Tried the dish again this morning, called Shaw and still no luck. In all my years setting this up everywhere and other peoples as well, I was frustrated. Ok give up again, drive to the store and check our lottery tickets and while driving the 2 miles there and back in the rain. I got thinking (I always think better when driving around in the car) Check the cable ! I have 3- 50 foot cables. so I hooked up another and guess what?? IT works. That cable can go right in the dumpster. Yahoo we have tv once again, Suzie is a very happy lady. We like to watch some news in the morning and a show in the evening.
After lunch pouring rain again so I secured our awning set up our Weber Q and can now enjoy some reading outside again sheltered from the rain, now down to 68F but still comfortable out here. Took a break and defrosted our fridge, and while doing this I had to rearrange the shelves a bit to make room for the Draft keg of Heineken beer my cousin Marie and Frank gave me for my birthday, I can always make room for beer in our fridge. Now to let it get good and cold and enjoy some good draft beer in a day or so. Then back outside again more reading to do.

I was going to say get a new cable. That just happened to mine. Love those doggie fixes!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's what I did as your read, solved the problem easy fix finally.
DeleteThe doggies fixes are always wonderful too.
Nice weather to sit out under the awning loved doing that. I never saw the turkey medalions before but have seen the steak ones. They sure look tasty.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to sit under the awning and listening to and watching the rain. This was the first I saw them as well, a very nice tasty treat they were too.
DeleteEnjoy the cool days. It’s warming up here as we get on the road.
ReplyDeleteCool days are the norm here a few hot ones would sure be nice.
DeleteTravel safe and enjoy the trip.
"I can always make room for beer in our fridge." We share the same philosophy :D
ReplyDeleteDo Gerry and Melinda own their space that they can make updates to their house? I have never seen turkey medallions at our HEB but they sure look good.
This evening as I was watching Game 5 of the NBA playoffs I saw all the people standing out in the rain and had been doing so for hours...those are true fans!
Lotsa room in the fridge may as well fill the empty spaces with beer. Works for us.
DeleteThey do own their park model trailer just pay the campground yearly fees plus water and electric. The medallions were excellent. We will do them again some day.
Standing in the rain is not the way I would want to watch sports.
those darn cables. Glad you found the problem.
ReplyDeleteAt least it was an easy fix, I just never thought of it earlier.
DeleteI like your mini keg
ReplyDeleteThanks we will enjoy it I am sure.
DeleteNice that you got a replacement cable and all works again. I'd miss our satellite too!
ReplyDeleteWe had the perfect amount of rain, not too heavy and it held off until later afternoon.
I have always had extra cable and does come in handy at times, We had some off and on rain but not a real problem here for us. Sure enjoys a few shows and is nice to have.
DeleteKen likes your frog with lots of beer :) Nice you found your problem..simple but who would think a cable went bad ?! So cute the way Tucker loves Suzie! Like grandchildren, spoil them and send them home or leave them for the next time! Dinner looks yummy..love turkey!!
ReplyDeleteLOL thats what a Frog is for right, Keeping the beer cold. I have seen cables go bad over the years so not surprised.. Yes dogs are like the Grands spoil them then we can go home Tucker just loves Suzie too. This turkey was excellent.
DeleteHate auto correct! FRIG....
ReplyDeleteI knew what you meant I did it all the time lol,
DeleteI'm going to look for the turkey medallions. We both love turkey and those looked so good.
ReplyDeleteHope you can find them they were wonderful let me know where you found them please.
DeleteNothing more frustrating than the satellite not working if you are wanting to watch a show/news, what ever. I'm not much of a TV watcher, but when there's something I want to see - that TV better work! Lol!! Glad you figured it out!
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to spend time with friends - glad you ejoyed your time with them.
I set it up all the time no problem this was frustrating. We don't watch much tv either but is nice the have at time.It is fun catching up with friends.
