A nice cool night for sleeping was 52F at 5am , then the sun soon rose and the day is going to warm up very nicely.being the first day of summer it will be an amazing day no doubt.I did a nice walkabout town for a bit over a mile. stopped at Pettigrew's and made an appointment to check out our car Monday morning. Much better for his, schedule, it appears we may be here for a few more weeks, no problem we can do this and really love it here anyway.
I made quick trip to New Hamburg for a few things and home for an earlylunch. Then Suzie headed out to stop by her Dad's.and deliver a couple more of here geaneology books to Tavistock , and her brothers then home here by 1pm. Now we can enjoy this wonderful very warm summer day outside with our page turners. 84F in the shade = perfect
I took a walk behind us into the bush across the road and found these HUGE Giant Hog weed bushes back there again this year, though in a different place. A very invasive bush and can be quite harmful if you come in contact with them. You and check them out here, Giant Hogweed for information click this link HERE. Major skin damage can be done if you contact these plants. And possible blindness as well.
these are HUGE 8-10 feet tall |
I love exploring these trails , but not in the mud |
Back home to relax in the shade and checked out John's pool, almost ready for the summer months.

Where have we been this Summer ?
Wait!! Grilled bacon??? Genius - no fat spatter cleanup. That’s a weird weed. Never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteA nice way to cook bacon , like you said no greasy clean up. It is dangerous and mostly in this area of southern Ontario
DeleteOh how we would love that weather!! We are experiencing some mighty hot weather and very humid!! That look really looks inviting...bet you can’t wait to jump in!! That Giant Hogweed sounds like a mean bush...stay away from that one!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying it finally, the pool is nice and refreshing in the hot weather. It is a very mean bush and can be painful.
DeleteThanks for the tip on Hogweed, it's common in the PNW too. Another beautiful day for you and it's SUMMER!, while we continue to enjoy our mist and clouds :( That should soon change as we move on from the PNW
ReplyDeleteYour welcome, enjoy the PNW and the fhe first day of summer too bad about the mist and clouds. Away from the coast will be much nicer.
DeleteHow can something that looks so pretty be so awful at least I'll know if I ever come across it thanks for the warming.
ReplyDeleteYou will know them because of their size. Not likely to see them in the desert they need damp swamp like soil to grow.
DeleteHome cooked burger and fries - hard to beat.
ReplyDeleteYes Larry it was all very good, just the way we love it.
DeleteI've never seen hogweed, sounds like a scary plant. You sure have a nice place to stay!
ReplyDeleteI have seen quite a few around here, it is scary don't want to tangle it thats for sure.
DeleteWe really do enjoy it here when we are in the area so peaceful and so much space.
Of course HogWeed will grow like crazy in places you don't want it to be. Would be nice if good plants would do that instead. Thank goodness I'm nowhere near those plants. :cO
ReplyDeleteThey are in lotsa places around here, and no sure don't want to touch them.
DeleteIt would be nice if the good plants grew where you wanted them , thats for sure.
Don't get yourself into any of that Giant Hogweed!
ReplyDeleteNo way Stew I will not go near that stuff.
DeleteThanks for the bacon tip - great way to keep the mess down inside! I often fry the entire package of bacon then freeze it, but the grill will be way better! Hogweed - I'll steer clear of it if we ever see it. Sounds awful! Such a beautiful place for you to be, especially if you have to stay around for awhile.
ReplyDeleteThe bacon works really well on our Weber Q , no mess inside the house.
DeleteIt is a wonderful place to hang out and we do love it here.
