Perfect weather for wrapping up our last day here.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another great sleep . Having stayed awake until 10 pm last night because I was outside until 9 Pm enjoy the warm air and more of a wonderful sunset. I actually slept until 5:30 this morning, ah thats better but seems like a later start to my day, lol...
Got a nice morning walkabout , and what is going to be another wonderful day.
nice sunrise on the walking bridge
me and my long legged shadow
Finally at 9:30 Suzie had the laundry sorted so I took it into Wapa the nice new laundry they opened last year., or was it the year before? All wonderful front loading new machines, and completely redone. This place is spotless. The friendly lady there so helpful with this card system, I have chatted with her over the years. She has been working here for 9 years now. Probably as long as we have been coming here.
Laundry done and folded I was home in an hour by 10:30. Suzie put it all away. Then we had already decided to go for lunch our last day here. And the place we enjoy is the Lucky Steer, in particular their broasted chicken one of our favourite meals. They have a very extensive menu, but we need our broasted chicken fix, lol. They had All you can eat Fish and salad bar today, but we were here for the chicken. On Fridays they have all you can eat chicken and fish for less than 10 bucks , we had that last year, was excllent.
So we ordered the 3 piece chicken with fries and a side salad. what an excellent side salad , almost a meal1
a huge side salad included
3 pieces of chicken each and a fresh baked biscuit for me,
we know it was cooked to order chicken takes 20 minutes
very hot, oh my so good !
We enjoyed every bite but could not finish it, no problem left over chicken and buns is wonderful for tomorrows lunch. And all this food for less than 20 bucks. Worth it for a nice tasty treat . Our last day here. Bo supper tonight thats for sure, ws our pan anyway.
One of the nice things about this campground is we are less than 2 miles from most everything in Wapa, other then the old town. Back home by 12:30 dropped Dsuzie off, now I can head back over I-75 and pick up a few last minute groceries without dragging Suzie along, she hates shopping.
we have toured this museum many years ago
a wonderful place to visit some history
that I saw live way back when
Now back home once again. to put out Weber Q away, check our tires and oil on the coach, have a nice long hot shower, dump and flush our sewage then top up our fresh water tank that we will need back home.
Even lotsa time to relax outside enjoying our page turners, beside an afternoon campfire on a wonderful 68f sunny spring afternoon. Some one had left some nice firewood here and was a perfect day to use it up. First campfire this spring.
they have nice new fire pits here on every site
couple of hours later it burned down soon all gone
thanks whoever left it
The we hooked up our car having a nice pull through site so we don't have to do it in the predicted cold weather tomorrow morning. Just need to unplug power and away we go .
ready to head out in the morning
Ok we had a wonderful last day here, getting things done, enjoying the weather, a tasty, lunch, a campfire, even a happy hour for the 2 of us. Enjoying our page turners still outside at 7pm and 70 F here on our patio . I want to wrap up this posting and cheat with a late night sunset photo I took after last nights posting. Probably close to that again tonight. So I can get right back into my book.
such a colourful sunset
Thanks again for stopping by and following along with us. Glad you dropped in. Our last posting for this winter in the the USA and all the wonderful places we have been. Only about 300 miles or so tomorrow and a boarder crossing, back to new Hamburg for a couple of weeks, is our plan, but ya know things can  change.

Now after lunch I took a drive about Wapa, to the downtown area I love, and checked out the Community Market there, They have been renovating for over 2 years now and is becoming an amazing store, Picked up a couple of deals there then back to Aldies where I picked up a very nice 10 lb spiral cut ham for Easter, wow what a deal 89 cents a lb, no matter the exchange it was still an awesome deal.

Back home by noon and  checked out the pool. Hey nobody there , perfect will be nice and quiet, Yesterday (Sunday) many families lots of kids, close to 50 people there and very loud. No thanks I can wait till today when it is nice and quiet. I soaked in the hot tub for a while and swam a few laps of this lovely huge pool. Read for a while and dried off. This is this first time I went swimming all winter and likely the last  for a while.

A very nice quiet sleep again here and 53F at 5 am looks like another decent day. We have enjoyed this membership campground (only $10. a night with full hookups) many times over the years and love seeing the improvements they are making. Our last stop before crossing the border back home in a few days.
Got a nice walkabout this morning enjoying the quiet times and mild weather. checking out the scenery and watching all the families packing up this morning heading back home to school and work.
first bit of sunrise walking across the creek
not a lot of water right now, have seen it very full
Walking mourned the year (east Camping area) not open yet they turn the water in April 20th back here and the laundry will be open as well
they are adding more park models here, probably more rentals
we have camped back here quite a few years ago
really liked it but not open yet
They do have lotsa cabins here to rent
even more sunrise kinda neat
these trikes on the water would be fun in the summer
Canada geese hanging out here as well
waiting to head north soon
they have done an awesome job on this mini golf
watching them build it over a couple of years
Just puttered around for a while reheated our left over pizza in the fry pan for lunch. Then a quick trip up the road to Aldi's another grocery store I like to check out when in the area. Picked up a few rare items then home to relax for the afternoon. Still over cast a bit but a very comfortable 72F , yup this is good. Well it was good reading outside until 1:30 pm then it started to sprinkle. Ok back inside then for now. Then 10 minutes later back outside, then a bit more sprinkles and back out for the rest of the afternoon. A few more walkabouts (just over 3 miles today) reading fo a while, Then about 4:30 started to sprinkle again. No problem inside to whip up supper.
this was yesterday afternoon
Sunday afternoon. most people gone now
Because of the rainy forecast this afternoon I planned on a tasty inside meal. Some leftover chicken, fried with some mushrooms, onion and garlic, added to pasta sauce with basil and stirred in some cooked spaghetti. Added a small salad and some garlic bread with cheese (made from hot dog buns we had) And of course a glass of wine, just because we had some open.
what a tasty treat for tonight's supper.
After supper outside (rain has stopped again, still 67F at 6:45 pm , can finish this posting (no sunset happening tonight) still enjoying this weather and can enjoy it for a while longer.
Want to thank y'all for stopping by and hope you had a decent spring day as well.

A short travel day , with some minor battery issues taken care of.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another mild night for sleeping and we slept well at 5 am 52 F and going to be a wonderful short travel day. Got my oatmeal and coffee intake, a bit of computing done then a few walkabouts this Flying J checking the store and all the trucks I enjoy watching. Walking into the Flying J at 6:30 can smell these amazing Cinnabons here baking and smell so wonderful, And I know Suzie loves these, So I picked up a 4 pack of mini ones to keep her happy , not bad price still warm and only $3:50 for 4  of them a nice treat.
We hit the road about 8:30 this morning for a wonderful travel day, Nice and warm, sunshine and no wind or rain , perfect!
Not far down the road we crossed into Ohio.
on I-70 a very rough road.
these tiny Cinnabons are excellent
 for a nice morning snack
Ran into some interesting skies along the way
love the sun streaks
Like I mentioned I-70 had some very rough sections, think my teeth rattled a few times, but all seemed to be good. Headed north on I-75 and stopped at a rest area 30 miles south of Wapakoneta. For a stretch. Hmm open our door and our electric  step did not got out.  So I jumped out used the facilities  here and climbed back in. Going to start our coach and NOPE nothing. A real nice feature with our motorhome is we have an auxiliary start, Push a button on the dash and start the coach with our house batteries. Coach started steps  work , but what is the problem?  So I checked,  looks like a battery cable broke off from our engine battery. Not, good. But with the coach running we headed north to our campsite in Wapakoneta,  got checked in and set up on a nice pull through site. by !0:30 this morning.
We enjoyed a tasty light lunch then I went into town 3 minutes away to O'Reilly auto parts and bought a new battery cable end for 5 bucks. Back home cleaned up the battery terminals and wires. Installed the new terminal and all hooked up again, Yahoo the coach started and seems to be just fine. At least until till we get back home hopefully .
oops this is not good
new connection and all cleaned up
and works wonderful easy fix
Then I whipped across  the road to Walmart for a few veggies and picked up a 5lb chicken for supper to cook on our Weber Q only .97 cents a lb , yes we do love our chicken especially for this price.
So many kids is this park having fun. nice to see
after a winter away with seniors
awesome weather and the campground is very busy
74F and shorts this afternoon
our nice pull through site
Love the views here and our Weber ready to go.
Neighbours beside us Tim and Linda from Ohio invited us over for Happy hour, always nice to meet new people in our travels. What a very nice friendly couple. We shared lots of stories and conversation, They were heading out for dinner so we tried not to keep them too long And came home to preheat our Weber and cook up this wonderful chicken for supper. We had a mini rose bush I bought Suzie for Valentines day that we cannot take across the border so she gifted it to them, they have a house and can take it , thanks guys.
Tim and Linda what a super couple
they are leaving in the morning,
hope we meet up again
Got our chicken on the Q and we enjoyed some reading time outside loving this wonderful warm weather. Had my shorts and sandals on for  a few hours today sure was wonderful.
just over an hour our chicken was perfect
added to our salad sure hit the spot
more leftover chicken
and another pot of soup soon
Then I took our garbage out and caught a nice sunset right here, what a great way to end a short travel day .
wonderful sunset for a wonderful day
That was it for a short travel day, Got our battery issues fixed for now and can enjoy a nice relaxing evening here with some great weather again for a day or two.
     Thanks for joining us today.
And yes Jeff as you know we enjoy this area.
