What a great day for a party.

Where are we today ?

Down to 50 f overnight sure was great for sleeping. Got up around 5:30 consumed coffees and got some computing done. Then headed out down the lane up and around the corner and back here by 8 am. got my first mile done.
heading down the lane heard some noises in the swamp
these guys were pretty noisy
down the road and around the corner following my shadow
A bit later into Durham for a drive and pick up a couple of things in town. Back to the Ridge and chatted with our good friends and neighbours for a while then a tasty light lunch. Back outside to enjoy our page turners.
nice mural at the main intersection in town
Stopped by the day use area on the river a pretty nice beach, even a few young guys splashing around early in the morning, it was that warm out.
Decided to try out a pitcher of Strawberry Beer Margaritas that Suzie suggested, and this in what I whipped together. For that recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar.
quite tasty and refreshing
but I liked the beer Margaritas better.

very refreshing and different to toast Rob's birthday
Today is a celebration for Rob's 69th birthday, old guy that he is almost as old as me. I made the Margaritas for a toast when everyone was here. We had Rob's daughter, son in Law,  Patsy's sister Donna and Gerry, then Bills cousin Peter , his wife and dog stopped by as well. We had wonderful Happy hours chatting sharing stories and a few laughs.
lots of fun conversation
Patsy had made a couple of tasty trays of lasagna , and Pat made a caesar salad and garlic bread, we all had a very tasty feast.

it was a perfect afternoon and a shady spot to enjoy a great meal
with friends

then of course a very tasty desert carrot cake made by Pat,
with ice cream to top it off.

Supper done , a nice fire to mellow out a bit then
soon we called it a night
What a wonderful day we enjoyed here with our good friends, celebrating a birthday and a very tasty meal.
     Thanks for dropping on by.

  7. Looks like a great day you had. The strawberry margaritas sound good, but probably sweet. Don't blame you for trying though! Good food and friends nothing better than that! Nice fire in the evening certainly doesn't hurt!
