Just another wonderful sleep again, perfect weather overnight with our windows wide open all night and so peaceful here as well. Up early usual and got a few nice walkabouts , even at 6:30 this morning it was very warm gonna be another hot day !
nice view around the campground and ponds
We were looking forward to checking out the Pow Wow at Kettle/ Stoney Point First Nation not too far from us here. We did not go yesterday because of the rains. Supposed to start at 10 am so we headed on out got there about 10:25 am. Not much going on but was free admission for seniors over 60 , glad that it was.
this be the place on Lake Huron
Once we checked in got a program, no information was available on line or we would have come much later.
We wandered around for about 15 minutes and checked our some vendors, most not open yet and lotsa food vendors not there yet either.
not open

This vendor below was almost open and was making some nice moccasins reasonably priced too, but nothing we needed.
hand made right here
love this headress
We did not feel like waiting around for another 90 minutes or more so decided to head on back home with a nice cruise around the area by the lake,
love the views across Lake Huron, Michigan on the other side
Stopped by the grocery store here for a few items them made our way along hwy 21 back home, Found this nice new farm market (juicy fruit) and stopped to check it out, Kinda cool place and lots of good deals to be had here.
Love their cashier/checkout is a 1963 chevy with the cashier in the middle.

We picked up a package of smoked pork chops and our very first feed of local corn this year! Fresh picked today ! Also picked up a fresh cantaloupe for a buck, yummy.
this is a real treat for us, early local corn
After here made our way back home by 12 noon, for a nice light lunch and relax outside in the shade with our e-readers. Another hot day!
yup it's hot
So turned on our A/c too cool down inside while we went for a refreshing ice cream and a nice cool shady spot with a light breeze.

Now again at 3 pm Tucker dragged Gerry over for a treat and of course Happy hour with us.
Hi 5 from Tucker
yes Gerry can smile
good boy "wait"
OK NOW !
Being Sunday a lot of campers had packed up and headed on out leaving it wonderfully quiet here once again.
Soon time to fire up our Weber Q 100, grilled a couple cobs of corn with the husks on I had soaked in the sink for a while. Then put the smoked pork chops on only need to heat them up.
nothing supper was ready.
Added to our salad and cantaloupe we had too much food so once again some leftovers for lunch just the way we like it.
what a tasty supper we enjoyed.
Now as usual in the summer weather back outside, reading and finish this posting enjoy the peacefulness that we love and of course the fresh summer evening air.
Another wonderful hot summer day we enjoyed. Thanks for stopping in and hope y'all had a great day as well.

  1. You're used to being in the kitchen, but your humidity is a bit much ... Hope the rains soon break it down. The sweet corn looks awesome, what suffices for 'fresh picked daily' out here does not mean it was picked today, or even yesterday! Arg!

    1. I am used to the heat and humidity and can deal with more than most people.
The sweet corn was wonderful and we have been around the farms long enough (Suzie grew up on the farm) to know that this was fresh picked, the stems are still moist.

  2. To bad the Pow Wow opened so late in the heat you are getting. But that corn sure looks good.

    1. Glad to hear from you again. I lost all my blog links a while ago and tried to remember the few hundred that I have is very hard.
It is pretty green but is actually very dry, we badly need rain too. Hope it cools down a bit for you over there as well.

  8. I think you'd look great in that headdress. Think of the fashion statement you could make wearing it while you mowed grass... :cD
