Blogger Fest info

A fellow blogger we met last year, at Bloggerfest has been in touch with me and wishes to host Bloggerfest this year in Quartzsite. That is fine with us, we can;t do it this year for personal reasons, and appears no one else is willing. I sent him the information I had and looks like he and his wife will put it together in January 2017. As it gets closer to January there will be updates I will post more and hope other Bloggers will pass it on as well. You can check them out Lorne Green and his wife Sue out here at there Blog  "A place called away" .
Message I got from Lorne and Sue
Sue and I will be hosting the Blog Fest on January 28 2017 and to the best of my knowledge we will hold it in LTVA South La Posa somewhere.  I guess the location can be determined at a later date.  It will be an afternoon affair starting right after lunch and ending when everyone goes home.  If you want to get  the word out, go ahead so everyone has it on their radar to plan their travels around.  Thanks for your help.   if you wish to contact them their e-mail is   aplacecalledaway@outlook.com.

After a few walkabouts this morning, I picked up a few things in town and cash from the bank.
Back home chatted with a neighbour from Cochrane Ontario for a few minutes. Secured our coach and hit the road about 10 am heading south to Yuma, warmer here than Quartzsite.
this mornings sunrise at 7:15 am
love the Roadrunner market and
 their new paintings
Now heading down 95 to Yuma have done this road many times and is always interesting,
95 south to Yuma
lots of washes on the way
Yuma Proving grounds
We know we are getting close when we see the  crops on the fields.
irrigation going on
Arrived at the Quechuan Casino by noon for a couple nights free camping here in their large rv parking area. Going to Los Algadones Mexico in the morning for new dentures. Had a bite for lunch and a walkabout the casino to see if there was anything new there. Nope not much has changed since we were here 9 years ago, no deals to be had, other than free parking and they do have  garbage dumpsters here, bonus.
Now back home we drove about the area a found a wonderful free camping area just down the road, So we secure the coach and moved there, can setup our satellite dish tilt our solar because we will be here for a few days, yup we like this spot for an extended stay.
this works for us
We enjoyed a warm afternoon reading outside but only 79 and no sun, then time for supper, Tonight a chicken pot pie done in the oven. For the recipe click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar.
buns done
pie is done and so tasty
added to our salad sure hit the spot
and leftovers too
So nice to explore new places and so close to Mexico that we love, new teeth tomorrow , I am so excited,,,, pick them up the next day.
As I am posting this at 730 pm we are hearing raindrops on our roof, rare but we know it will not last long,
Glad that y'all dropped by again and hope you had a great day as well.
today was a nice short drive

  1. Unfortunately the weather forecast is calling for wind Friday PM and Saturday with highs in the low 60s for a few days. Hopefully it is warmer than Quartzsite.

  6. Woke up this morning to very wet streets. Obviously, it rained overnight. However, that's much better than the snow our kids are getting up north.

  10. It'll be nice to get the dental work done. I feel good when I'm parked at Q Casino and close to the border. Once I'm there I can relax, parking and walking across is the easy part. Have fun in Mexico. :)
