Today is another excellent desert day. I can;t say how much we love this scenery and weather.
At noon today we went to the
soup and chowder festival at the QIA (Quartzsite Improvement association) because we have never been here at this time before. And I am telling you what a great event. $5.00 per person and we got to sample as well as judge 15 different soups and chowders, plus all the deserts and juices as well.

We parked beside this cool Motorcycle/car, a Slingshot, what a neat ride this would be. We have seen quite a few of these over the years in the southwest mostly.
|
like a care with 3 wheels |
We purchased our tickets and got in line, not to0 bad in about 15 minutes we and got our samples I did one line and Suzie did he other so we did not have to do itagain for the second round.
|

|

For desert (that we don't usually do) we both choose the Black Forest cake (with Brandy) and it was amazing !
|
very tasty desert |
Back home shortly after 1 pm and relaxed for a while enjoying our e-readers in the shade. Sun shade up and was 75 f with no wind on our site, perfect weather !
A bit later Bill had his drone out and showed me and Gerry how it works, what an amazing toy. I controlled it for a bit, too much fun. Not in our budget though He took some pics that he sent me , I will post some tomorrow.
From the picture I posted the other day got a comment from a fellow x blogger that saw their coach in the over head drone photo. So I wandered over to meet them and really was so nice to meet up with them, Bloggers I used to follow quite a few years ago.

Then we enjoyed a fun (Happy ) social hour with Bill, Patsy, Melinda, Gerry and Barbara. And while we were there Brian stopped by to talk to them about solar. He will be back tomorrow to give them some ideas and quotes, VERY reasonable he is.He worked at discount solar for years and actually installed our system 10 years ago.

time for supper and another amazing desert sunset |
Tonight a couple pan fried cod fillets on our Weber Q 100 with fish crisp, Suzie's favourite.

DeleteThat's about as perfect a day as we're going to get, with some great soup thrown in. I'm loving this weather, a perfect week ahead, too, I think. I enjoyed our visit yesterday! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are right and many more perfect days to come as well.
DeleteWe enjoyed a similar thing last year in San Miguel. It was a chilli cook off and the food was great. Those desserts look tasty too. We are vicariously enjoying the desert with you. Cheers from Vancouver where there is more snow in the froecast...
ReplyDeleteA chili cookout is fun too glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteNice that you got the sunset as well, too bad about the snow stuff.
Wow, that was a well spent 10 bucks! :c)
ReplyDeleteIt sure was and fun as well.
DeleteI took a picture of that same sunset. We are in La Posa South LTVA. We started following your travels before we went full-time. You have been an inspiration for us. We put solar on our trailer and are sitting here in the desert on our computers like we were hooked up to electricity. Thanks for sharing your life as full-time RVers. Russ
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of the sunset. Sounds like a fun day.
