Cooler last night only 45 f but we comfy cozy. But we had a very bright sunny day and got up to 60 f with a cool north wind. Still nice outside in the sun and out of the wind.
Perfect day to make a pot of chicken noodle soup. Had some chicken bones in the freezer so simmered them for a couple hours to make a very tasty soup base.
|
all simmered and clean the mea t from the bones |
Then added spices, onion, parsley, garlic, celery, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli and some broad egg noodles, then we ended up a very hearty Stoup (stew/soup) for lunch. Perfect weather for this.
|
enough for a couple more lunches |
|
oh so tasty |
After lunch a drive about checking out a few areas.
|
notice the fuel price in California! |
West of here for a few miles to check out some free 14 day camping areas on Ogilby Road and found a few nice wide open places that we could boon dock at if we wish. On the way back spotted this desert cemetery, there was markings but no headstones. Really makes you think about who is buried here, when and why.
Stopped at the south end to take a shot of the dunes in the distance.
Back home I found 2 more couples from Ontario (Rock Glen resort in particular) joined us. We are now a group of 4 couples from Ontario Canada and another couple arriving in a couple days. Like old home week.
|
Rob and Pat, Bill and Patsy |
They arrived and set up in time for the ice-cream social from 2 till 2:30 this afternoon only $1.00 a scoop so we wandered on down and enjoyed a nice ice cream sundae.
|
pretty good for a buck |
By now it's time for Happy hour, so we gathered at Bill and Patsy's in the sun was way too much fun. Lotsa laughs, great conversation and a pick on Gerry day. He is a good sport.
|
Clemson was entertaining us too |
|
a great group, chilly wind but the sun warmed us up |
By 4:30 cooled down time to head home and whip up supper. While I was cooking Suzie got her Tucker fix.
|
Suzie I missed you, pet me please. |
|
a nice sunsetting about 5:25 over the dunes |
|
Turkey burger and a spicy pork burger for me |
|
did the trick |
Took the garbage out and a couple rv's decorated for Christmas.
Then below is a few pics of our Christmas decorations. We are ready for the season.
|
we had Santa hats for our mirrors but they blew away last year these desert winds can do that |
|
the lights, our tree and Yule Log |
Always something to do here even when we have no plans, we just let the days unfold and go with the flow. Works for us. No pressure just enjoying much better weather than back home. Meeting new people and getting together with old friends too, makes life interesting. Doing nothing today I was so busy I did not even have time to read, hmm... But can do that anytime. Looking forward to more reading time.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi. Hope y'all had a wonderful day too.
Where have we been this Winter
Enjoying following your winter trip. Brings back lots of wonderful memories.
ReplyDeleteThanks Betty lots of great memories for sure, glad to have you along.
DeleteWe were a lot cooler today.
ReplyDeleteGlad you could enjoy the warmth and the sun with more Ontario RVers.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Such a small world that we all happen to be here at the same time.
DeleteIt is always warm here than Quartzsite and 2 more RV couples coming as well.
Wow, looks like you had a nice day. Love the Christmas decorations. I actually bought a thermal cooker to use in my RV. You cook on the stove for 10-20 minutes, then insert it into the thermal pot. I hope to use it for my dog's home cooked diet as well as some nice bean, rice, and stews for me!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl we did have a great day, in the Christmas mood.
DeleteThe thermal cooker is a handy device when on the road hope it works well for you
Your coach looks very festive! It is great to be near you guys again and seeing Rob and Pat again is a bonus!
ReplyDeleteThanks Patsy, in the Christmas spirit. Nice to be hanging out with you again as well.
DeleteMy favorite motto: "There is never enough time to do all the nothing you want to do."
ReplyDeleteThats for sure, but we enjoy it anyway.
DeleteLooks like you're ready for Christmas. Gas is always higher in California that's why you want to get it in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteWe ready for Christmas and always make sure we are fuelled up before crossing the state line.
